Harper’s 8th Birthday Party

We celebrated Harper’s 8th birthday recently and hosted a very low-key backyard celebration with a few friends. Though it was small, I wanted to make her mermaid-themed party feel special.

I had a really busy work week prior to her party with several campaigns to shoot, so I opted to use Walmart’s Online Pickup & Delivery to get everything we needed delivered straight to our house days before the party ($35 minimum and small delivery fee apply. Pickup and Delivery available in select markets).

While browsing for party items we needed, I also found these amazing mermaid scale towels on Walmart.com that I used as party favors (we had a slip n’ slide at the party – the kids LOVED it!) so I placed the order online for Pickup at a local Walmart store since they had the amount I needed in stock.

It was so easy – I got an email a few hours later telling me the order was ready for Pickup and ended up driving over the next day after we got the kids from school. I used the Walmart app to alert the store I was “on my way” so they could get my order ready and when I got there and parked, I “checked in” on the app and then an employee brought the towels to our car – so convenient! It was fun to give our guests something functional and cute as a party favor!

We also used this iridescent door curtain to turn our balloon garland into one big “jelly fish” for the party!
