This is one of my most highly requested posts – I’m excited to finally publish it! I was a bookworm as a child and it seems Harper is following in my footsteps. She reads for an hour (at least) every night before she falls asleep – it’s such a delight to see her experience the joy of reading because I still love books so much as an adult (albeit, I enjoy them on Audible now).

Harper is in second grade so though she and Lincoln have a massive collection of picture books, this post will focus on chapter books! Here are some of her favorite books & series:

I have a book worm here too whi also loved when stars are scattered. My daughter is ten but highly recommends: The wat that Saved my life, fish in a tree, where the watermelons grow, The adventures of a girl named bicycle, and the graphic Novels El Deafo and Rollergirl. My younger son loves The Lunch Lady series, Timmy Failure, Big Nate, Stick Dog and Diary of a Wimpy Kid. I finally got them each a kindle because my daughter reads about three chapter books a week! 🤣
Princess in Black and Zoey and the sassafras and The Who was series
I was, and still am, a total bookworm too. The historical American Girl books would be perfect for her! I loved the mix of history and strong female characters.

My daughter loves to read as well. She is now reading the Land of Stories series. she also likes Laura Ingalls Wilder and Upside Down Magic. When she was younger she loved The Princess in Black series and Isadora Moon series.
