We are living in our fourth home in 12 years and I promised myself that this time around, I’d have it completed in about a year. Our house is a new construction, so you might be wondering what I mean by “complete” and what I really mean is all of the finishing touches and things that don’t come with the house, like lighting, window treatments, furniture, rugs, etc.
Giving myself a timeline was important because in the past, I’ve taken so much time to make decisions or have certain projects done, that by the time we do them, we don’t get to really enjoy them because we’re moving. We had wallpaper installed in our kid’s shared bathroom in our last house a year before we moved and a gallery wall around the same time – I’m kicking myself that we didn’t do those projects when we first moved in.
We invested in some great pieces over the years, so we started off with quite a lot in our new home, furniture wise, and just filled a few gaps. We were able to re-purpose some furniture in other spaces as well, like using Lincoln’s RH dresser in our game room.
I thought it would be fun to share every project we’ve done so far that was not already complete when we closed on our home. This includes the purchase of furniture or other design elements we did not have in our previous home. I’ll also share projects still on my list.

It wasn’t until I reviewed this post that I realized just how much we’ve done in 18 months! I’m proud of how far our home has come – it has been amazing to make it our own and to be able to design these spaces – it’s my passion and I learn so much with every space I create.
Thank you for reading!

Your home is AMAZING! Would you mind sharing your flooring details?

WOW! You are really good at design! Furnishing and upgrading a new home is really hard work (I’m doing mine right now), and 18 months for all the details you put into your house had to have been exhausting, but well worth it! You can finally enjoy and love your home for a longer period of time, before you move again 🙂 Moving 4-5 times in 12 years is exhausting, as well. ENJOY!!! (Where did the blue velvet pillows come from? I didn’t see them on your list, so maybe you already had them.)
The gold curtain rods and drapes are beautiful, would you please share information on where you purchased them?
