ONE
I finally ordered this carpet and upholstery cleaning machine. I’m going to use it on our outdoor furniture and our main sofa! I’ll be sure to share the results on IG stories. Our main sofa is in amazing condition, but after over 5 years, I bet it could use a cleaning! We do use waffle blankets on the bench seats of both of our sofas, which helps too!

TWO
Our chairs were reupolstered in this Serena & Lily fabric in Coastal Blue. I really wanted to add some color to our space and since it’s a perennials fabric, it’s durable and stain and UV resistant! I love our spindle chairs, so this was a fun way to refresh them. I’m also going to have some custom lumbar pillows made for them.
I’m thrilled with how they turned out and will share more details soon! PS – I found some similar spindle chairs here, for under $250!

THREE
Lincoln’s room and bathroom are painted! I’m so thrilled with how it turned out. I decided to go ahead and have then paint his ceiling the same color (Farrow & Ball Parma Gray color matched at Sherwin Williams) and I’m thrilled I did because it really makes the room shine. I’m considering painting his doors too, but am thinking on that decision because I do worry that not everyone is into that look (for eventual resale). I think its the right move from an aesthetic perspective though!
As a reminder, you can shop every room in our home, here.

Harper’s bathroom was also painted in Benjamin Moore’s Opal Essence. She really wanted a mint color (her walls in her previous bedroom were mint) and the color complements her Lulie Wallace floral shams. I’ll admit that for some reason, the gold mirror looks “off” to me now with the new wall color, but I can’t put my finger on why. I love that scalloped mirror so much, so I’m going to have to find a way to make it work.

Speaking of painting, I also decided to have my China cabinet professionally sprayed by the painter who painted Lincoln’s room recently. He saw it in our garage and asked what was up with it and so I asked him for a bid and it was such a good price for a professional paint job that it felt like the right move. I’m still deciding on the color – pretty sure I’m going with Alice White by Behr color matched to SW paint at 25-50% lighter.
So far, I disassembled the entire cabinet (removed hardware), sanded it, filled in some minor pinholes, re-sanded and primed it with BIN shellac based primer spray. A professional paint job will be the perfect finishing touch!

FIVE
I looked at my analytics and can’t get over how many of you are reading (and also deeply affected by) The Idea of You. I have NO WORDS. After finishing TIOY, I listened to Followers and I just started The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo yesterday – it has such rave reviews!
This weekend, I’m going to watch the heartbreaking Britney Spears documentary produced by the New York Times.
Last weekend, Harper had her second hair cut ever and I had a color refresh! I love my darker locks – I find it to be so striking!

I love the paint color in Lincoln”s rooom. I think painting to doors would be stunning. So chic!
Hi! The last picture, with you and Harper is so adorable! It also caught my attention because of that lovely sweater you are wearing – I love the colors! Any chance you could link me to it if it’s sold online? Thank you.
It is an old jacket from J.Crew! 🙂
