Getting Dressed for First Grade!

My Facebook timeline has been showing me a ton of video memories lately of Harper as an infant and toddler (seriously so thankful I have all of those adorable moments recorded!) and though it’s incredible to watch her grow and learn, those memories make me realize (as cliché as it sounds) how truly quickly time passes.

Next week, Harper will start first grade and we’re so incredibly proud of her. She has been able to read since Kindergarten and writes so well – we can’t wait to see how much confidence she gains and most importantly, watch her creativity and friendships blossom.

I spent all day this past Sunday going through Harper’s closet and purging all of the clothes that don’t fit her anymore, re-organizing it and adding in some new finds from my Walmart order that just arrived! Walmart has cute, trendy pieces that are affordable and perfect for back-to-school – and Walmart.com offers free shipping for orders over $35 – yay! Below are my recent finds.

If you live in the South like we do, you know it’s still blazing hot – but I could not resist this quilted unicorn dress with a sparkly tutu skirt! The 3D details on the unicorn are so cute and it’s such a fun dress for little girls to wear – it would be perfect for a birthday party as well! It fits true to size (Harper wears a 6 now!) I paired it with her favorite jelly flats -they have glitter, a flower and a velcro closure. Harper’s next back-to-school outfit is this tee and short set – the photos seriously don’t even fully convey how adorable this set is (you won’t believe the price either!) The bananas are made from sequins and the shorts are super airy and flowy – perfect for the super hot days that we’ll still have for a while here in Texas. Walmart also carries hair bows which we pair with pretty much every outfit (see more colors here!)

I also purchased the sweetest utility jacket for Harper for when the temperatures finally get lower – it’s lightweight and seriously looks identical to the adult versions, but for little girls – we will definitely be twinning this fall! The dark olive color is beautiful, it fits TTS and is a little longer, which I love! Walmart has so many cute back-to-school styles whether you’re in need or cooler or warmer-weather clothes!
