Happy Friday! You know what feels good? Feeling good about getting dressed again every morning. I’ve felt so reinvigorated this Spring in terms of my style – I’ve found myself excited about what’s in stores lately (which, even a month or two ago, I couldn’t say) and almost everything I’ve ordered lately has been a home run.
In fact, I’ve been actually wanting to dress up more for work lately and try new styles – like the amazing jumpsuit I wore to work yesterday. I’ll be the first to admit that I’ve been in somewhat of a style rut in terms of my workwear. I was wearing the same outfits over and over (which is great – staples are important) but I had totally lost the desire and excitement to dress myself and explore my closet. I don’t know if it’s the warmer temperatures, the abundance of cute styles out right now, or simply a desire for change, but I’m loving getting dressed most mornings now. It’s not simply an afterthought, which is what it felt like for quite some time.
I also feel like I’m in a really fantastic groove with my wellness. I have been so consistent with my P.volve workouts and I’m really seeing the work pay off. I’ve been so amazed at how much stronger my core has gotten – I can actually see the lines on my stomach and have visible ab muscles when I’m working out. I’ve continued with my intermittent fasting routine and stuck with my 80/20 eating approach, for the most part.
Let’s get started with this week’s Friday Five!

Amazon leggings, part 2. Last year, I ordered these $25 leggings and proclaimed my love for them – so many of y’all ordered them and they continue to be a go-to pair for workouts + weekends. They’re buttery soft, not sheer in any way and have a very comfortable, flattering fit and a great waistband. Basically, if you haven’t purchased these yet, I highly recommend them. Most recently, I ordered these leggings (also $25) and they’re fantastic as well. They have the side pockets and are more of a full length than the 7/8 length of the black leggings – however, on me, they look more like a 7/8 length. They are slightly thicker than the black ones and the waistband is thicker as well. They have some compression and are very flattering. I wear both pairs in a size small and they fit TTS – though with this pair, you could go down a size if you wanted more compression.

Let’s talk about the jumpsuit. It’s $27.99 and one of the only jumpsuits I have ever felt flattered my body. My Trunk Club stylist had sent me a few options to try ahead of the rewardStyle conference and they looked awful on me. I even ordered this cute jumpsuit from Abercrombie and even though it comes in tall, it still didn’t look right on my body (bummer, it’s SO cute). I put this jumpsuit on and was like YES. YES YES YES. It’s so flattering from the tie waist to the v-neck and buttons – I got compliments at work all day (side note: I wore a white blazer over it at work)! I feel like a million bucks when I wear it – it’s SO comfortable, too. The only part that is somewhat annoying is when you have to pee (which, with the amount of water I drink, is fairly often), but it’s so good, it’s worth it. I wear a size small, for reference (also, don’t judge my hair in these pics, I didn’t style it at all…eeek!) Shop my entire outfit, here.

Finding the perfect boxy tee can be daunting. I ordered two options – this one for $18 + free shipping (I got the white, size xs/s) and this one for $26 + free prime shipping (I got the olive, size medium) and I’ll report back as soon as they arrive about how they feel/fit. I love pairing a simple tee with jeans or skinny pants and layering on some gold jewelry. Right now, I have this necklace in my cart and I’ve been wearing this bracelet that I was gifted nonstop (you can add any charms you’d like!)
I’ve been ordering some amazon finds lately, including these packing cubes (I couldn’t resist the pattern), this geometric print caftan (pool days are coming soon), this yellow top with embroidery and tassels (perfect for cinco de mayo) and this layered sleeveless tank.

All of my office ladies – I’ve found a dress shirt for summer that fits like a dream in the perfect shade of pink (it comes in other colors, too). I ordered a 4 tall (I LOVE when dress shirts come in tall) and it’s such a great lightweight linen blend. This is my favorite fit of dress shirt at J.Crew and I have it in a few other. prints/fabrics as well! It’s a classic.

I did it. I was finally disgusted enough by the news headlines about how much bacteria is on our phones (like, more than a public toilet seat) that I was like, enough is enough! I’m 35 and deserve a phone cleaner thing. So, I found Phone Soap (apparently they were on Shark Tank). Is it pricey at just under $60? Yes. But it also charges your phone…and may prevent your next stomach virus and really, that is something you can’t put a price tag on. You can also use it to sanitize apple watches, FitBits, earbuds, etc.
SALES I LOVE
I got a ton of stuff at LOFT last weekend (see my full try-on post here) and I placed another order today since so many items are 50% off. Here’s what I ordered:
SEPHORA is also having a big sale – I’ll update as soon as I see which products are on sale that I use and love!
WHAT WE’RE READING
I shared our favorite children’s books a few months ago and one of them was Dear Girl – well, Dear Boy was just released and I ordered it for Lincoln!
WHAT’S ON MY MIND
This Facebook post on working moms that is getting a ton of media attention. I’ve been talking about “leaning out” for quite some time now – but this post really hit home for me (and a lot of you, when I shared it on IG stories last week) specifically about the expectations society places on mothers. I think this post really drives home the importance of equality in parenthood (ie: your partner doing their share) and I also love her takeaway at the end of the article: “And as for her advice to other working parents, Freidberg said to be honest with yourself and your loved ones on what you’re capable of.” Sometimes, saying no to more things or obligations, means being able to say yes to more of your priorities.
IN MY MAILBOX
Boscia sent me their new face mask (I’ve been using and loving their MATCHA Magic Super-Antioxidant Mask) and in that package was a skincare mini fridge which is very “extra” but I will admit I am ridiculously excited about owning one. To be honest, I don’t even know which skincare items are supposed to benefit from refrigeration, so I’m going to have to do a little research. There’s no way I’d ever go downstairs to get my skincare out of my actual fridge, but a skincare fridge is kind of awesome.

Do yourself a favor and read this post. I don’t think I’ve ever wanted to sing the praises of a bra more than this one.
WISH LIST
This cosmetic case is giving me all the heart eyes. Like a gown up, classy caboodle.
Have a great weekend!

I’m constantly using wipes to wipe down my phone! May need to invest in the cleaner!

It is proven to kill 99% of the bacteria on your phone! 🙂 I am very excited about it – I guess this is what it’s like as an adult – getting excited about things like this, haha 😉
Love all of the style finds, and the phone cleaner! I especially love your comment about ‘leaning out’. As driven professional moms, it’s really hard to do but I’ve just recently accepted that we can ‘have it all’, just not ‘have it all at the SAME time.’ In order to keep our sanity and happiness, we may need to ‘lean out’ a bit while our children are young. It may not be fair (as I don’t think men go through this to nearly the extent we do) but I’ve found at least for me, it’s been really freeing to let down my professional expectations of myself for a couple of years.
I’m grateful for your comment Meghan! I agree that it’s not fair and doesn’t seem to affect men as much…but I feel like we only get a chance to do this once when our kids are little and I already work so much that I simply have to lean out for my own sanity and to feel even a small sense of balance. I hope it’s better for our kids when they have kids and that this country stops being so “work obsessed” like it is now.
I’ve been having the same jumpsuit struggles. They all look so weird and are too short. I want something ankle length and most hit at the lower part of my calf which is not flattering on me.
