Though Houston can get cold enough to wear a heavier coat, you can get away with a lighter jacket for some of the fall/winter season, so today I’m sharing two options to get you through the season.
The first is this tie-front drapey coat. At just $50, it’s a steal – I can’t tell you how many compliments I get on it! I get stopped whenever I’m out wearing it – at the store, the kids swimming lessons and even at the Nutcracker market. It’s lined, comfortable and lightweight. It comes with a belt or you can wear it open for a drapey look. I love that the coat looks dressier with my work clothes but also looks great paired with a casual leggings and flats outfit. Mine is a size small.tie-front drapey coat | leggings (more options here) | flats (more leopard here) | blue tee – sold out – more casual tops here | bag (more options here) | earrings (more here) | sunnies (more here)
My favorite heavier winter coat is the J.Crew chateau parka in stadium cloth wool. I had wanted it for so long and finally ordered it last winter for 40% off. Mine is a size 2 tall (I recommend going down a size) and I love the warmth, comfort and overall style. J.Crew brings this coat back every single year for good reason – it’s so stylish, comfortable and goes with everything. J.Crew factory has its own version of it, but I’ve heard the quality is not comparable. However, I will say if you don’t need a super warm coat, the factory one is a good option.

Please let me know if you have any questions about either coat! Have a great week!
