Spring is just around the corner, and there’s nothing I love more than fresh, glowing skin with washes of pink all over. Bright pink tones that are sheer, but buidlable, are my go-to for makeup because I find they make me look fresh and youthful and bring much-needed color to my fair complexion.
I favor simple, easy everyday makeup that any woman can do — whether you’re a busy mom, working woman — or both! My makeup looks are always about enhancing your features without too much effort — I don’t do the contouring or highlighting or smoky eyes, etc. While I love those looks for special occasions, your everyday look should be something you can do quickly, with tried-and-true products you know will last all day.
In this post I’m sharing some recent beauty buys from Nordstrom and showing you how I use them to create a fresh, youthful, everyday look that you can wear anywhere. I buy most of my makeup and skin care products at Nordstrom, because they offer free shipping and returns, so I know I’m never stuck with a product that doesn’t work for me. Plus, they carry so many brands I love. Check out Nordstrom’s newest beauty arrivals, here.
Here is my everyday look (and yes, this is my new, darker hair!)
I focus on creating subtle, soft definition around my eyes and enhancing my skin with bronzer and blush so I have a little more color. My final step is always all about the lashes — I use a growth serum and often double-up on mascaras, which I’ll share more about below.
Let’s start with a break down of some new products I used for this look:charlotte tilbury color chameleon color morphing eyeshadow pencil| NeuLash | dior overcurl waterproof mascara | benefit badgal bang! mascara | benefit hoola bronzer | charlotte tilbury lip cheat lip pencil in “pillowtalk” | charlotte tilbury lip gloss in “portobello girl” | beauty blender- original
I’ll start with the eyes, because I feel like lining my eyes makes the largest difference in my overall appearance. I have small, almond-shaped eyes with not a ton of lid space, so lining has been my go-to since I was a teen.[ shop my earrings here and my initial necklace, here ]
For this look, I used charlotte tilbury’s color chameleon color morphing eyeshadow pencil in the color “golden quartz” which is intended to enhance hazel eyes. These pencils have a beautiful metallic sheen to them that makes eyes sparkle. I have a lot of green/olive tones in my eyes, so the golden quartz really brings those out. I also own and love the color “dark pearl” for brown eyes. I lined both my top and bottom lash line with the pencil. I also used urban decay eyeliner (color zero) on my water line to further define my eyes. This is optional, but I line my water line every day and have since I was in high school (old habits die hard).
Another trick I’ve used for over 10 years is using Benefit’s eye bright pencil on the inner corners of each eye prior to lining. The milky, baby-pink shade wakes up tired eyes and overall helps lift and brighten the eye area. The best part — this pencil lasts for months and months. For mascara, I combined dior overcurl waterproof mascara with benefit’s NEW badgal bang! mascara . I never wear non-waterproof formulas because they make my lashes fall stick-straight, but I wait for my dior mascara to dry and then add a coat or two of the badgal bang! and it works like a charm because the curl gets “locked in” by the waterproof formula! I’m also still using NeuLash to grow my lashes. I apply it nightly to my lash line.
Next up, two new-to-me products — charlotte tilbury lip cheat lip pencil in “pillowtalk” and charlotte tilbury lip gloss in “portobello girl”
I kept seeing a Charlotte Tilbury video ad pop up on Facebook showing her applying the pillowtalk liner, lipstick and this gloss to a model (who is totally stunning, btw) and I knew I had to have it! The lipstick is sold out, but the liner gives a similar look and is perfect for very subtly defining your lips (personally, I stay within my own lip line, but you can use it to enhance, also).
Guys, this liner + gloss combo is so pretty. They create the perfect pink lip — not too nude, not too bright, and totally everyday wearable. The pink isn’t too warm and the liner isn’t too brown — it’s truly a beautiful, neutral pink that I think would work well on a variety of skin tones.
I hope you enjoyed this post and found some new beauty goodies to add to your shopping list! See the rest of the items used for this look linked below!

Hi Judith! Check out my instagram stories- I share try-ons and recent purchases there 🙂
Love the look- very fresh and naturally pretty. What foundation do you use?
Ashley – I use It Cosmetics CC cream 🙂
I learned a lot from reading this post! I hope you don’t mind my asking – but how are you finding the neu lash? I also wondered if you had any recommendations for a good eye-makeup remover for waterproof mascara that is still gentle on the eyes? All the Best – Europafox x
Hi there! Thanks for your comment 🙂 I LOVE neuLash -it really works! For eye makeup remover – l’oreal makes one for waterproof makeup (clear green bottle) and I’ve used Neutrogena also. La Roche Posay makes one for WP makeup as well, but it is pricier.
