I love a great tee that has a little something else to it! This lilac tee (such a gorgeous color that will transition into spring!) has a hem that makes it feel fancier and more fun than a typical tee but it’s so lightweight, comfy and un-fussy.
lilac tee (more pink-ish tees here) | jeans | sunglasses | earrings (c/o) more tassel earrings here | nude heels | similar bag ( more pink bags here)
I’m finding these turquoise earrings to be super versatile and I’d love to get them in a few more colors— they also have a larger size which I plan to get for spring/summer.
Hope y’all have a great week!
Very cute and feminine. ?
Thank you <3
Hi Veronika,
i have been your reader for years now and i have to say i love your style and things you post about your kids and home. i didn’t get to fill out the survey you posted before and i really would like to point out something that i have been seeing alot lately and it’s quite bothering to me. first of all, i love my AG jeans and i know you love yours, but please, just drop it. you have been pairing every top, sweater, tunic with that pair of jeans. i know you own more than just one pair, it could be other brands too but please change it up a bit. look at your posts in thumbnails and you will see your jeans in every other picture and it’s quite bothering. second, your nude pumps, same reason as the AG jeans. i know it goes with almost every outfit and i get that. but seeing it in every picture? it gets quite boring after awhile. i can’t say for other readers, but after seeing these two combo for not just days, but months in repeat, it gets quite boring after awhile. these are just my opinions and of course, i still love your posts!
Hi Joy! Thank you for your comment. One way I feel that I’m different from other bloggers is that I do not own a ton of an item that I don’t utilize a lot. I completely understand your feedback though— I do wear the AG jeans all.the.time. The truth is that since I got them, I don’t wear any other jeans because they fit so well and are comfy. I can only wear jeans on weekends (can’t wear them at work), so I don’t see the purpose of buying a ton of different jeans just to show on my blog. If at some point I have an interest in trying some new styles, I will of course share those. The same goes for my work pants- I only wear my Old Navy and BR slim work pants because they’re what work for my body/are flattering. I think part of what I offer as a blogger is being real— showing that I constantly re-wear my clothes and not just have a closet full of “blog clothes” if that makese sense 🙂 The same basics are always part of my outfits because if I’m going to invest $250 for jeans, I’m going to wear them as much as I can, haha 🙂 I understand about the nude heels too— I feel like I’ve shown outfits with my wedge booties, perforated booties, leopard heels, etc too. But again, those are the shoes I’m wearing most often this fall/winter season and I strive to be authentic about that. My goal is to share the new pieces I buy and how you can mix those in with items you already own. I hope that makes sense and thanks for reading!
hi veronica. I feel the same. I like this blog but it’s a shirt blog right now. no new skirts or pants or jeans or shoes. only your top changes.
Thanks Mary! I feel like your pants/jeans/skirts are the classic pieces you invest in so you can wear them again and again (which I do) and sharing new tops and accessories is how I introduce new pieces into my wardrobe. Years ago, I almost always wore the same five pencil skirts over and over and the same few pairs of pants over and over. I still wear those skirts— a classic pencil skirt will never go out of style so I don’t see the need to buy so many when I have some that are in great condition and fit well 🙂 That’s why I’m buying a lot of tops/sweaters/jackets/scarves/jewelry. Thanks for reading!
I’d have to go through all the posts/comments that I’ve noticed it in over the past year. Not sure I want to spend the time doing that, but I know it’s happened.
It seems strange that you’d say you’d want to represent what you actually wear when you are getting commissions from folks who click through on your returned Trunk Club items, or those that you’ve simply tried on in a fitting room.
I’ve been a reader of yours for years, since your TK days, but lately it just seems like affiliate links and sponsored posts.
Lauren- when I share a trunk club post I’m sharing what’s in my trunk so that I can share the experience and items I got with my readers. Then I share what I kept from the trunk. Anyone can profit from a trunk club referral. Anyone who signs up for the service is able to then share that service with family and friends and receive a referral fee using their unique link.
I want to reiterate that I always share where I got something if someone asks. Will I also direct them to my blog in the same comment? – yes- because even if I say “this top is from XYZ”store, they’d still have to spend the time searching for it and it’s easier to just find it directly through my blog.
I can’t apologize for having a blog that is monetized. I work hard on this blog and someone clicking a link makes no difference to them or their purchase. If they like my content and what I’m showing, and there’s a way for me to make a small commission from that, I see it as a win win.
Sadly I agree with everyone else above. I used to love your outfit posts, but I feel like we only see tops (and everything is linked so you get a profit…I’ve seen people ask where you got a certain item on Instagram and you direct them to your blog where there’s an affiliate link).
In this specific post, the top honestly look too short for your torso. As a fellow long-torsoed woman I can’t imagine that I could lift my arms without showing midriff. Do you find that? It’s a cute shirt, but I think only if it were longer.
Hi Lauren! If someone asks me on IG where something is from— I will always reply “this top is from Nordstrom (or whatever store it’s from) and is linked on my blog” I do not ommit this information if someone asks. I would ask that you provide examples of where I refused to tell someone where an item is from.
I’m sharing a lot of new tops/accessories is because that’s what I’ve been purchasing lately. I don’t need jeans, skirts and dress pants, so I’m always repeating those since they’re my closet staples. My goal is to show you the things I actually wear and love. I realize there are a ton of bloggers out there whose blogs are their jobs and so they literally shop and style outfits every day. I simply share items I love that I’ve purchased recently and mix them in with pieces I already own 🙂

I have to agree with the other commenters here. I’m sorry to say it, but it’s true. I’ve been following you for years now and used to love your blog but lately it’s just been blah for me. I miss your makeup and skin care reviews and office outfits. I used to look to you for office inspiration but lately I’ve been looking elsewhere. I don’t visit your blog as often but I check in from time to time in hopes that it’ll go back to the way it was before. Sadly, I’m disappointed.
I’m sorry you feel that way Emily. I’m seeing that a lot of my readers are purchasing what I share which to me indicates that they’re liking the styles I showcase, but of course that’s not true for everyone. Most importantly, I feel good about my content and the way it has evolved over the years.
That top is waaaaaaaay too short! Its just not flattering at all. I miss your old blog posts.
Thankfully you don’t have to wear it 😉 have a great day!
Hi Veronika, I have to say I enjoy your blog because it seems more real than many other fashion/lifestyle blogs. I am also a working mom and feel I can relate to your posts and your style. I appreciate the fact that you are not buying (or receiving) clothing items that you wear once for a blog post and aren’t actually wearing regularly or do not really like. I think most people who work at a business casual job during the week, only own a couple of pairs of jeans for the weekends. I also like that you respond to your readers’ comments here and on instagram! I have commented on your instagram before and you always answer where something is from, how it fits, etc. You have also answered more personal questions I have asked about breastfeeding. Anyway, long story short.. thanks for being real and genuine!
Thank you so much for your comment Samantha!
The blogging world is so big now and I know a lot of bloggers personally, many who I consider friends, whose blog is their sole income and so the amount of outfits they have to purchase and shoot is massive. They definitely purchase more so that they can showcase new outfits daily.
While I love that and am inspired by their feeds, this isn’t my full time job, so I strive to keep this space about what I wear and love— and that includes wearing the same few pairs of jeans and shoes and pants over and over for a season 🙂 I know a lot of my readers don’t want to or can’t constantly buy new everything, so I try to provide tips on what to invest in and then showcase trendy items like tops and accessories to make a closet feel fun and fresh. I appreciate that you recognize this and also your kind comment about how responsive I am— that’s important to me— I want this community to be a two way street!
Hi Veronika!
I guess I’m not with the majority here, but I actually find it refreshing that you reuse and repurpose items in your wardrobe. I literally have three pairs of high end jeans for fall/ winter and they too are on a continual weekly rotation. I really enjoy your blog and your outfit combinations and find myself searching online for some of the pieces you feature to incorporate into my wardrobe. To be honest, I have followed a few fashion bloggers who are showcasing a high end outfit on the daily with little repetition and quite frankly I find it a bit frustrating as a mother of two that it is just not practical that I can fork out or am willing to shell out the money to invest in an abundance of clothing. I have a more minimalist approach to clothing now that I am older and that I like to invest in good quality, timeless pieces. It’s more about the quality and the look then the quality. I think you do a great job in covering family, fashion and beauty topics on your blog and at the end of the day, your blog is about what your style ideas are and they may not suit everyone but that’s ok because you can’t please everyone! Have a great day!
Thank you so much Erin! I think that is the key— and what I’ve come to recognize over the years is that I really can’t please everyone. Ultimately, this space of mine is only successful and enjoyable when I love what I’m doing and sharing. If I am driven to create content I like, then to me, I can’t lose.
I feel like if I was constantly showing new stuff and had 30 pairs of jeans and 50 pairs of shoes, I would be getting comments like “you spend too much money!” and “how will you save for your kids college” and “you are addicted to shopping!” so for some people, I really can’t win and will never do it “right.” I could buy new outfits every single week and people would say I wasn’t “real” and that buying so much isn’t “doable for most women.” I want to be relatable — and I’m glad you feel I am!
I try to balance my looks with investment and more affordable/budget friendly pieces. I appreciate your kind words!
