I picked up a gorgeous pink sweater from Anthropologie during their 30% off sale on Black Friday and I adore it! Though this style is completely sold out, I tried on a similar style recently and love this one too! It’s softer and more “wintery” than the style I purchased, so it’s a great option if you’re looking for something cute and cozy! Mine is an XS and it’s more of a relaxed fit so definitely size down. IRL, the sweater below is a beautiful soft marled lilac.

Hope y’all are having a great week!
hello!
I have noticed that you and a few other ladies I follow on Instagram have the same items at around the same time from nordstrom (example the gray and white pompom hat I also saw on Hollie wdrd as well as those perforated brown booties) are these items c/o or is it just an amazing coincidence? I know they are always linked but I always assumed you selected the items but are they actually selected for you to try and sell?
I WISH they were c/o! That would be amazing, but unfortunately they are not. When I work with Nordstrom, I select every single piece I showcase and pay for it with my own money. I am compensated for the post itself, but I have to purchase the clothes myself (which is perfectly fine because I do a large portion of my shopping there anyway and would share those outfits whether it was sponsored or not). I love that I pick every item because it’s stuff I actually own and love to wear and is true to my personal style. That’s why you’ll see the same main pieces re-worn over and over again like my AG jeans, pointed-toe booties, cutout booties, Hunter boots, scarves, etc. I like to show my readers how they can mix in new pieces with items they may already have.
I think a lot of bloggers show the same items because they’re cute, well-priced, appealing to us and our readers, etc. Nordstrom’s BP section has a lot of really on-trend items for a great price so a lot of bloggers, myself included, like to shop that section!
thanks for the explanation I’ve been keen to understand how it works
You are welcome! I actually think it behooves a brand to let bloggers choose their own pieces. I have always chosen my own, personally. Brands want to sell clothes (or whatever their product is)— so they want bloggers to pick things THEY love because they know that their readers will respond positively to that. If I suddenly showcased a look that was really grunge or something totally not my style, it wouldn’t resonate with my readers and thus it would not be a successful campagin for the brand.
Hi V! I’ve read your blog on and off for a long time, but lately the posts have all seemed impersonal. I completely understand you want to make money off your work (no harm at all), but the past few months have just seemed like a series of sponsored posts. Why not talk about things other than clothes you get via Trunk Club, or just try on in the store dressing room? Your personal stories about life, diet and exercise, home decor, travel. etc. where what made me interested in your blog in the first place.
Hoping this doesn’t offend you – just wanted to give some feedback on why your readership may have dropped. Wishing you all the best!
Hi Monica! Thanks so much for your feedback! The reason I’m focusing on outfit posts is because I gotfeedback in the past two years that those posts are what my readers missed most about my blog and though they liked the family related posts, they missed the outfit inspiration which was the original topic of my blog. I love sharing outfits and new purchases 🙂 The reason you don’t see a lot of fitting room photos is because I order 95% of my clothing, makeup and accessories online now. I just don’t have the time to go shopping in a mall, save for the rare occassion where I run into the store to make a return.
As a full time working mother of two, I devote all of the time I can to my blog, but I also have to balance other things and oftentimes that means I don’t get to share all of the content I’d like to. I try to still share as much as I can about our family life and home decor, updates about the kids, etc. I will be sharing a Christmas home decor post as well as revealing Lincoln’s nursery soon.
Thanks for understanding this season in my life! Fortunately I have many loyal readers who have stuck by and many new ones, so I feel I’m in a great place with my blog and I’m grateful for the opportunity to grow and for the support of my incredible readers 🙂
