You know you’re desperate for fall weather when you wear a sweater in the office all day (because of course they crank the A/C like crazy—but there’s a reason…and a must-watch video on this topic) only to peel it off as you walk to your car after work because it’s sweltering.
I’m into pumpkin-spice everything (yep, totally basic) and yet it feels like a sham because there’s no cozy fall weather and crisp air.
Anyway, I’m just going to keep dressing like it’s fall until it is.
You can’t see it with my cardigan over it, but this $34 side-slit tank is a closet staple. I plan to get it in black next but it also comes in eight other colors.
Leopard Print Scarf (another cute one here and here and here!) | Open Front Cardigan (this one is nearly identical in color and it’s here in three colors as well!) | Side Slit Tank | sunglasses | bag | jeans | earrings | watch | pumps
Do you live in the South and crave cooler weather? Comisserate with me in the comments!
Could you do a quick how-to for tying/styling the scarf please? It looks great!
Erin— a lot of my readers have asked for this! I will try to do a post on this very soon 🙂 I will try to shoot it this weekend!
Ugh, I’m in the Chicago area and it’s been in the 80’s still! I think it’s finally going to start cooling down this week. I just want to bust out my new sweaters! 🙂
i live in minnesota, but its still pretty warm here! sweater weather is juuuust around the corner though!
i’ve got baby fall wardrobe must haves on the blog!

I’m in socal & it’s supposed to reach 107 today ? I can’t even look at scarves & sweaters, but your outfit is adorable!
Hi Veronika! Long time reader here. I’ve followed your blog for many years and I want to say that I’m very disappointed with your content as of late. I understand motherhood changes your style, as I’m a mother myself, but I feel like you don’t put the same effort you used to on your entries. A blog post with 4 (FOUR!!!!) pictures of you in the same pose does not make me interested to either click nor buy the items you’re promoting. This is not intended to offend you or put you down. It’s an honest review from a long-time reader.
Hi Lu! Thanks so much for your feedback, I appreciate you providing it in a constructive way.
I actually started to post more casual outfits because that is what I see my readers are most responding to and purchasing (I can see it in my analytics). I think four photos is actually an improvement over the 10-15 I used to post of basically the same pose (I can laugh at myself now about that!)
Are you missing my work outfits most? I would love to get more specific feedback about the looks you’d like to see. I love sharing more casual looks but one idea I had is to style the same items both for work and for casual wear in the same post. Let me know if that would be appealing to you!
I would love to see more work outfits — I so miss that about your blog, as it was one of the features that drew me to it in the first place back in 2010! Your casual outfits are cute, but I feel like I’ve got the casual thing down…I need more work outfit inspiration!
Thanks Emily! I admit I have been dressing more casually for work (mostly dress shirts or blouses with skinny pants) but I always keep a blazer at my desk and dress up for important meetings! I will just plan to shoot some of my office looks on weekends. A goal of mine has been to purchase clothes that can be worn both on weekends and to work, just styled differently!
I understand that no one was intending to offend you, Veronika. But, I just wanted to offer my view. Personally, I feel more connected with your posts lately. I am a stay at home mom who rarely gets to wear heels or anything fancy. And work outfits don’t apply to me. I really appreciate that I can come to your blog and see outfits that are casual and that are actually achievable for a mom like me. Also, I feel like you do post a lot of casual looks and always mention how you style it when you wear it to work. Can’t please everyone. Just a reminder that you are fabulous and your blog is awesome because it is REAL. Take care
Hi Ali! Thanks for your comment and kind words! Once I saw how my readers were responding to my casual outfits, I realized my readers wanted to see more of that content so I started to do in that direction.
I feel like most of the items I buy can be worn both to the office and out and about/on weekends (other than ripped jeans, of course, haha). It usually takes me a full year after having a baby to really start posting outfits again so it’s encouraging to get good feedback about my content just as I’m getting back into more regular blogging. Have a great day!
Not as south as Texas but I live in North Carolina and it’s still in the mid-80s here. I really want it to get cooler!
Re: tank- I really love the Lush line at Nordstrom. They have some really cute dresses as well!
I’ve been eyeing that side slit tank top, but I was wondering how see through it was in white.
I wear a nude cami underneath!
Can you give a link to the nude cami you have? And do you have any other suggestions for olive cardigans? I have been scouring the internet and can’t find any except the $99 option you posted, which is out of my realm.
the nude cami is from stitchfix but you can find similar ones in the maternity section at Target (they can be worn non maternity too). Here is a cardigan for half of that price: https://rstyle.me/n/b25fedgj6w
Have a great day!
I love this long cardigan and leopard scarf in this outfit! The items you linked don’t seem to look the same. Could you repost. Thank you!
