This knot-front tee is one of my favorite tops I’ve purchased this season. The fabric was such a surprise when it arrived because it’s kind of “fuzzy” on the outside— a weird way to describe it, but it has this super soft texture. The knot at the front is a fun accent.

Hope your week is going great!
Love this top! Have you washed it yet? is it still fuzzy? haha
I have! The texture is the same.
It’s the same texture after washing 🙂
I’m sorry but your blog has been really boring lately. Your last 6 post are like the same thing.
Hi MaryEle— Because I work full time and have two children, I squeeze in outfit photos during nap time on Sundays. I often shoot different tops with the same shoes and bottoms to maximize time since the focus of the outfit is to share the top. There just aren’t enough hours in the day to schedule any kind of elaborate photo shoots so I try to share what I can with the limited time I have.
Love this top! Nice and casual but one that could be easily dressed up ☺️ something different ?

Totally understand. But the viewers do get bored. The shots look so similar.
I have been very much looking forward to you decorating your new home! Can’t wait to see what you come up with!
They are similar because they are all shot in the same area. I think the point of the photo is to show the outfit so the backdrop is simple 🙂 I understand that some people may feel bored when there are a ton of bloggers doing shoots in fun locations, but that’s not me and not authentic to what I do. I’m just a busy working mom who likes to share her favorite finds and shooting in this way is quick and makes me able to do it. I know with my old content I was also always shooting in the same location with the same poses, so really, not much has changed.
I can’t wait to share more of our home— it’s really nowhere near complete. I finally ordered accent chairs for our living room and I still need to finish all of our rooms. Harper doesn’t nap anymore on weekends, so our days are full, haha!
I think a lot of readers are used to you posting outfits of what you’d wear to work, home decor, etc., not just a bunch of similar pics in the same poses in the same locations. I understand your life had changed tremendously since you started blogging and I truly respect that, but lately it seems like it’s just post after post of outfits that aren’t work appropriate (which was a huge draw to your blog for many years), all the same pose and looking nearly identical, with a million affiliate links. And it’s not that I don’t think you should use affiliate links, because that’s not it at all, but there is an abundance of them in every post and it’s really begun to feel inauthentic.
Sidenote: LOVE those booties.
Hi Mary! Glad you love the booties- I do too!
I read your comment and I do appreciate your feedback and the kind way in which you said it. I struggle with comments like this sometimes because when I think back to my content, I have always posted outfits in the same setting (either inside of my old house or outside in the walkway of our old house) with the same poses, etc with affiliate links to each item, so it’s hard for me to see how that content is very different from what I post now (other than the types of clothes I wear which yes, were more office-wear focused in the past).
Please know that I only ever share outfits I love and actually wear (re: authenticity). I often re-wear and feature the same items over and over because I honestly wear them all.the.time. I feel like that is more authentic than wearing a new outfit every single day (but maybe some would disagree!)
At the end of the day, maintaining a blog is a lot of work and it can be hard creating content and managing partnerships on top of everything else I have going on (working FT, two kids, exclusively pumping, etc). I can see why for many it’s a full time job. I do what I can to share the things I love in the limited time that I have and for some people, that will never be good enough and that’s okay. What has been uplifiting for me is seeing that so many of my readers, both old and new, are loving what I’m sharing and purchasing the items I recommend, so that has been encouraging in the sense that I feel I am sharing content that people like— that it resonates.
I do plan to show more home decor (I do share some on IG already) but truth be told, we haven’t done a ton to the house since we were both so sleep deprived since L was born (things are good now, thank God!) 2017 will be the year I hope to get a lot done around here.
Have a nice night!
I miss the more personal posts, like your weekend recaps. You haven’t done one of those in ages! This seems to be a shopping blog now.
Hi Claire! Thank you for that feedback. I stopped doing the weekend recaps because I thought my readers wanted me to share more outfits again (that is the feedback I was getting when I stopped posting them). I will try to share more posts like that because I miss doing them too!
Hi V.
I miss your work outfits that you actually wore to work and workout outifts too. I also miss your haul posts, day in the life posts and favorite things posts.
Thank you so much for this feedback! 🙂 I appreciate your honestly and I will work to re-incorporate that content into my blog. I wish there were more hours in the day!
Have a good week!
