I think it’s pretty safe to say that I’ve been really into peplum this season. Like, really into peplum. I can’t help it! It’s flattering, forgiving and can be dressed up or down— what’s not to like about that?
I found the cutest peplum top at Nordstrom recently and I can’t recommend it enough! Not only does it have a peplum hem, but it also has half sleeves and is super lightweight, so it’s a perfect transitional top as we head into fall.
I ended up ordering it in both black and olive since it’s such a great price point at under $40. I really love the BP section at Nordstrom because they have so many chic/trendy and yet affordable items. Nordstrom also has free shipping and free returns, always, so I never feel guilty ordering things…and if I ever return something, it’s an excuse to go to the store to check out my favorite sections!
I styled the peplum top two ways so you could see how versatile it is. I would wear this top to work as well with slim-fit dress pants and heels. By the way, my top is an XS. I read the reviews which said to size down and I would say I would be okay with either a small or xs.I paired the olive top with my Tory Burch York buckle tote in the “light oak” color and these new nude heels.
I’ve been searching for a long time for a non-patent nude heel and these ones fron Nordstrom are the perfect color— not to beige, not too pink. The half-moon heel is also a fun change from the skinny heels I usually wear.
Speaking of the Tory Burch York buckle tote, it has been my go-to work tote since January. It fits a macbook and the middle compartment has a zipper, which I love. It has a ton of great pockets too. Let me know if you ladies are interested in a full review of this bag- it’s amazing and such a great price, especially for Tory Burch.

My second outfit with the olive top is perfect for a casual weekend or running errands. I love my converse shoreline sneakers and wear them every chance I get! If you don’t have these yet, they’re a total wardrobe staple and go with everything.
And I’ve talked about them about a thousand times already, but these AG jeans are the best denim investment you’ll ever make! They fit amazing, have stretch and they’re so flattering and comfortable. They’re a little bit pricey, but you will never regret them. They make me feel great everytime I slip them on! shoes | peplum top | sunglasses | watch (similar in rose gold) | jeans | tory burch mini bag (similar) | nude heels | earrings | lipgloss (the color is “cultured”)
Do you love peplum as much as I do?
This post was sponsored by Nordstrom, one of my favorite stores. All thoughts and opinions as always, are my own.
Love this top! I think I need it in both colors too! I’m loving the peplum trend. You’re right – very forgiving and flattering!
I SO want this style of top to work on me but it just does not! I think it’s because I just can’t find one that fits me properly… I don’t know. You rock it though!!
Same here, Tawnya. I’m super tall, so peplum tops always make me look like a little kid. I think they are meant for more petite gals.
I am 5’10 and have found a lot of the styles work well for me! I usually favor a tunic length top because of my long torso, but I have been loving the way a peplum hem sort of creates a balance between a skinny pant and a billowy top.
Could I tug the v-neck to nurse or is the material such that it would stretch/ruin easily? Thanks!
Great looks!
This top is awesome, I have it in both white and black! looks great on you 🙂 Wish I got the Olive as well
Love the top and how you styled it!
I love the top!! And those sunglasses are soooo on my wish list. They’ll probably be on that list for a long time though. lol!!

I love peplum, too!! Love how forgiving it is!
Hi! I’m really feeling your style this season. I don’t remember seeing you in many jean outfits before. I love it – very chic and fun. I’m mad I can’t find any of these peplum tops at the store. I need to start checking the BP department more often- It’s the only department I can really afford. Ha!
BP is the BEST! So affordable! You know, I used to post all of my work outfits which I’m still trying to get back into, but I’m really finding that my readers are responding positively to my posts with more casual clothing/outfits. I’m trying to find a balance since I’m a working mother, I want to show what I wear to the office too, but we usually shoot on weekends since it’s hard to shoot when we are getting ourselves and the kids out of the door in the morning. Thank you for your comment 🙂
I know what you mean. I’m a working mom also, on the weekends for hubby dates I pair some of my “working” short sleeve tops with skinny jeans and on the weekday for work I just switch them with black/ navy chino skinny pants with 2″ pumps which I keep under my desk ha! I walk into the office with wedge flip flops/ converse and then change my shoes at my desk. I used to ruin the heels walking through the long parking lot.
But again, you look great on all your outfits! And your kiddos are so adorable!
Aww thanks for your comment 🙂 it’s all about the “car shoes” and the “desk shoes” haha 🙂
