This weekend was all about taking it easy and resting. I was so thankful to just be home with my family and though there were a ton of “to-dos” on my list, I left most of them for another day.
We attempted to take some Christmas card photos this weekend and it was a total disaster. I had photos booked with Ailee last weekend but the weather was terrible so we went the DIY route and had Candice shoot some yesterday. Let’s just say our Christmas card this year is going to be an outtake.
I did sneak some adorable shots of Lincoln after our shoot and goodness is he adorable or what? Also, he is huge. He doesn’t even look like a newborn anymore. And. his. smile.
and to give you an idea of our #fail family photos, here’s a nice little shot of my DSLR’s screen:
Toddler refusing to look at the camera? Check. Baby throwing himself backwards just as the shot was taken? Check. Let’s just say my idea for cheesy Christmas-jammie photos complete with colorful lights may have to be saved for another year.
Speaking of Christmas, I’ve been doing a little more decorating around the house. Our tree is up and I added (faux) wreaths to our windows (from Michael’s) and preserved boxwoods to our chair backs:
Though I didn’t accomplish much this weekend, Kevin and I tackled our office a bit. It was my goal to have it organized before I head back to work but it’s been slow-going since we’ve basically been using it for storage since we moved in. I mentioned before that we removed a closet in order to expand the office and it’s quite spacious (more so in person) so I really look forward to making this place a space we can really use. I also plan to keep my crafting supplies in here and I moved our Crate & Barrel glass-front tall cabinet that we had in our dining room in our last house into the office to use for storage (it’s against the wall on the right so you can’t see it in this photo).

If you’re looking for sweet tees (there are a ton of great holiday options too!) for your little ones, check out my friend April’s new shop Tulip + Vine. She made this adorable one for Lincoln inspired by a favorite children’s book!I definitely cuddled my babies even closer this weekend. Harper has continued to be the most doting big sister. Lincoln has to let out just one little cry and she’s on her way to cover him with a blanket or pat his head and say “it’s okay baby Lincoln, it’s okay.” Sometimes she says “he needs his mommy.” Oh my goodness it’s precious.
I hope you had a wonderful weekend! And thank you for all of your incredible comments and messages of strength and support on my last post. I have the best readers ever.
Lincoln is so stinkin’ cute! That very first picture is just the best. You have two very precious little ones!
Thank you so much! He is seriously adorable, I feel like I stare at him all day, haha 🙂
I love seeing them two on your Snapchat. Harper is such a great big sister! And your matching jammies are perfection despite not everyone (ahem, kids!) looking at the camera lol!
Hi Veronika
I just wanted to say that you have an awesome family. Your little boy is very cute. I lost my baby boy (still born at 20 wks) last year around this time and every time I see this boy my heart melts and miss my baby. We have been trying ever since but not succeed. Please pray for me and my husband. I know in you post in Instagram you told us that you believe in prayers. So do I.
Please pray for us and send us sticky dust.
Thanks you
Hugs

Hi Omkara,
First of all, I am so very sorry for your loss. How devastating. I pray for you and your family to heal from this and I also pray that you will get pregnant soon and deliver a healthy baby. You are in my thoughts— and thank you for feeling comfortable sharing something so personal with me. <3
