I guess having a newborn makes you exhausted enough to sleep through even the most intense storms, because Friday night I squeezed in every bit of shut-eye I could between feedings, all while a massive storm passed through our city. Our street flooded twice Saturday, but thankfully both times the water receded. It was all the way up to nearly the tops of the tires of cars parked on our street and I’m thankful it wasn’t worse.
Ever the opportunist, Harper eagerly put on her rain boots and “splashed in the puddles” on our porch. We actually saw a car being pushed out of the flood waters by a few people as we were out there. Speaking of rain boots, Harper is obsessed with her Hunters. I posted a photo of some of her new shoes on IG, and I’ll link them here too if you have a shopping problem and a cute toddler. hunter rain boots | glitter flats | natives | duck boots
If you follow me on Snapchat (@veronabrit) you saw that Lancome USA sent me a beautiful package of makeup inspired by Marie Antoinette. Not only is Sofia Coppola’s version of the film one of my favorite movies of all time, but this makeup collection is full of gorgeous bright pinks that I was absolutely smitten with. Plus, they forced this postpartum mama to step up her makeup game and I felt awesome. Stay tuned for a more detailed post and product swatches later this week!
Despite the downpours earlier that day, we were able to enjoy a wonderful evening of trick-or-treating. It was Harper’s first time to trick-or-treat and it was my first real venturing out of the house (other than to doctor’s appointments) since Lincoln was born. It was so fun to see her light up and love the experience so much. I did most of the route with Harper and tons of other families in our community (we all met up to go together) and then when we got to our house, we switched off so Kevin could finish the route with her. Needless to say, she slept in the next morning!
This was Harper’s face when I told her the people at this house weren’t home after she rang the doorbell. It was priceless!
Today we had our sweet friends over and Cami and Harper enjoyed some play time while their little brothers ate and slept. Cami’s baby brother is nearly five months older than Lincoln, so future playdates will be twice the fun as our boys grow up.
After nap time, we ventured out to Target, just the four of us. I had ordered some accent chairs online and though they were beautiful, I didn’t feel they were the exact right fit for our space, so the search is back on (let me know if you have any recommendations!) After returning them, we picked up a few essentials and then I headed straight to the home decor section and bought some Christmas decor that I most definitely
do not need. I also picked up some cute dresses for Harper that I’ll share on the blog later this week.
We bought way too much stuff and needed two carts…but we made it!Hope your weekend was safe and happy!
Harper is adorable and I agree with her, all houses should give out candy on Halloween night! PS- you look awesome!
Thank you! 🙂 Hope you have a great week!
Awwww the picture of Harper hugging Cami is so sweet, they both look so cute.
Very cute! Love the costume with the boots!
p.s. What type of tile is that on your porch?
I wish I knew but we didn’t select it!
