Has it really been four weeks since Lincoln was born? Spending five days in the hospital and having the days blend into one another for the past couple of weeks have made this time feel like it flew by in an instant.
We had a super laid-back weekend. Harper has been under the weather with a little cold and we’ve been exhausted from a few rough nights with Lincoln. I mentioned on IG that he was diagnosed with a milk protein allergy when I took him to the pediatrician this week, so he’s had some pretty bad gas and tummy issues. I’m hoping going dairy-free will solve the problem and make his tummy happier. Thank you to everyone that has reached out with advice and support— it’s nice not to feel alone and I appreciate all of the meal ideas, recipes and general words of encouragement.
Other than doctor’s appointments and a trip to Target, I haven’t ventured out of the house much since Lincoln was born because I really wanted to focus on my recovery and not do too much too quickly (thank goodness for online shopping and binge-watching HGTV!)
It was so refreshing to enjoy a walk outside this weekend, just me and my little guy. I’m finally starting to feel like myself again and I’m able to do more around the house and overall feel more comfortable. I know a full recovery will take some time, but it’s nice to be pain-free (save for an occasional pulling feeling at the incision site) and have some more energy.

It’s my goal this upcoming week to get into a little bit of a routine and try to get out of the house more. We’ve just been working so hard these last few weeks on getting back on track with nursing (and things are so much better) so that combined with growth spurts and cluster feeding have made it a little bit overwhelming to plan outings.
Some snapshots from our weekend…
Even with a cold, Harper is all about dressing up…Check out that hairline— Lincoln lost the entire top/front part of his hair this week! He looks like a little old man, it’s adorable. And yes, I was a total creeper taking this picture…(sorry Kev, but it’s so sweet).
This is the look he gives me when he wants to eat again. So, it’s a face I see a lot (and if I don’t act quickly enough, it turns into a very dramatic, red-faced scream).
And before I go, I have to share these beautiful monogrammed pillows Caroline from Caroline Randall Made created for Lincoln and Harper. They’re such great quality and I love the personalized touch they add to their rooms. Visit Caroline on IG or Facebook to check out some of her latest offerings!
I hope your weekend was great!
Hopefully being dairy-free will cure some of those tummy pains. I’m sure he (and you!) don’t enjoy that. I love his little grey hat!
Hope Lincon’s tummy problems are resolving with you being dairy free! It must be so hard to give up dairy, I would definitely have a hard time with it. Love his little old man hair line, so cute!
I found that I have become lactose intolerant during my current (2nd) pregnancy! I miss milk quite a bit, but it’s been so much better since I figured it out. I totally feel your pain! I hope it helps Lincoln feel better!

Ok, first – HARPER’S HAIR!!! I didn’t know it was so long and had little curls. It’s GORGEOUS!!!! She can be Ariel for halloween next year and not need a wig!
I can’t believe he is four weeks old, and I am so happy to hear that your c/s recovery is going well. He is already growing and changing so much!
