If you’ve checked the blog lately, you’re probably seeing that there’s a whole new look to Veronika’s Blushing. I’ve been blogging for nearly 6 years (6!!!) and I finally felt it was time to take the plunge and move to WordPress so I could have more control over the look and functionality of the site. Mainly, I wanted to make it easier to navigate through my content and have a simple, clean design with easy-to-access menu options.
I worked with Lisette to transfer over to WordPress and the lovely Meg is working on the design and layout (she’s the best!)
We’re still working on the final stages of the design but one of the things I’m most excited about is that my blog is now mobile-responsive which will make it easier to view content on your phone or tablet (no pinching the screen to zoom in!) And no worries if you have my blogspot URL saved or bookmarked, it will re-direct here so you’re good to go.
Thank you for making this little place on the Internet of mine so awesome for all of these years. I hope you like the new design and will stick around for all that’s to come!

Ohhhh hey I’m your first official WordPress comment!!! Glad to help and it is looking rather fancy around these parts. 🙂 Welcome to the dark side!
I am honored that you are my first commenter 🙂
I love the layout and can’t wait to see the final design! I’ve been following you for years and I’ve seen so many versions of your blog 🙂
Thank you so very much Julie! I am so excited to have a blog that’s easier to navigate 🙂
Met you on the “Nest” years ago (circa 2008) when you were the most GORGEOUS bride and been a long time subscriber since! As a fellow Houstonian (now living in London), you always have been one of my favorite bloggers to follow. Hope you’re doing well!!
Aww thank you so much! I love that you’re living in London now— that sounds like a dream come true. Still the best place I’ve ever visited 🙂 Thanks for being a longtime reader 🙂
I love the new look! Congratulation on reaching such a great blogging milestone. WordPress is such a great platform to use. I find it very user friendly.
I look forward to reading more blog posts about your pregnancy and baby in the future. My due date is today so I am impatiently waiting…
Oh my goodness! Wishing you all the best for a safe and speedy delivery 🙂 Thanks for reading!
I love it! It seems a lot of people are moving to WordPress, although I don’t know much about it. The design is great! I love simplicity 🙂
Thank you Noelle! Yes I’m noticing a lot of bloggers on wordpress these days 🙂 I think it’s mostly because the layouts are a little more flexible and there are a lot more options than blogger. It’s a little bit of a learning curve but I love it so far!
Love the new look! I’ve been a long time reader and think the fresh look and new platform will be great. I recently started a blog with Blogger, mostly to keep my family/friends in the loop and share things that interest me. A coworker/friend who is a web designer found out and offered to help me make the transition to WordPress. Any advice for a newbie blogger?
Hi Becca! What a kind offer from your friend 🙂 I think they key with blogging is a few things
– consistency- posting often enough to keep people engaged
– communication- responding to readers and creating genuine relationships with readers and other bloggers
– content- sharing content people will enjoy and respond to
Most of all, I think just being yourself is key. I have always felt I could be myself here on my blog and have loved the incredible and supportive readers I’ve had through all of these years. It’s a wonderful feeling! Good luck with your blog. Send me the link when it’s ready!
It really is sweet of him to want to help out. Thanks for the words of wisdom! Here’s my blog in its current state: http://www.lexiandlady.blogspot.com
I love the new design! I read your blog frequently and also use your blogroll to read (and find!) a lot of my other favorite blogs. I loved the old feature where we could see the latest blog post title under the blog name, please please please incorporate that into the new design! 🙂

Hi Sarah! Sorry I seem to have responded to Becca instead of you in my previous comment. Thanks for your feedback 🙂 I have considered keeping my blogroll on the side but moved it to my “about” tab. I love supporting other blogs but I’ve noticed that it seems to be something you don’t see on a lot of blogs anymore. I’m glad you found it to be a useful tool (I used it myself to check out blogger’s latest entires). I may consider keeping it to where just the top five most currently updated blog posts show like how it was on my last blog.
Love the new design! I am wanting to convert mine as well and will look into your recommendation!
Thank you! Lisette was great with the transfer and Meg is awesome with helping me find a look that represents the blog well. I highly recommend their services!
WOW! Looks amazing! I’ve been reading your blog for 5ish years, love love love it! My favourite lifestyle blog, hands-down!
Thank you so very much! I appreciate your comment and feedback 🙂
It looks great Veronika! Loving the black and white! Simple yet classic 🙂
Thank you so much Sally! Have a great weekend!
I think you will love WordPress so much more than blogger 🙂
I already do! I love how many more options there are 🙂
Hi Veronika! I have enjoyed reading your blog for years. I liked the colors you used in your last design (such pretty choices!), but I think the new black/white/gray is a nice change – it looks so clean and professional. I currently use Blogger for my blog, and I have been tempted to move over to WordPress so I can do more with the blog, but I’m not brave enough yet to take on learning how to use it 🙂 Congrats and I’m looking forward to seeing the final design!
Hi Kimberly! Thanks for your comment 🙂 It’s actually pretty easy to figure out wordpress in terms of writing and publishing posts— it’s all of the other optimization features that take a little longer to get the hang of. There are just so many additional features, it’s awesome!
