Our Weekend…

Happy Sunday! If you follow me on snapchat (@veronabrit) you’ve seen a little preview of our weekend. I took little snippets from our day and am now realizing I didn’t actually take many photos for my weekend post…womp womp. Ha.


So let’s just make this post more about things I’m loving from this weekend. The first is this amazing salad from La Madeleine  We ate lunch there Saturday and holy yum. This salad tastes just as delicious as it looks. It’s their seasonall “bacon and berry salade” and I can’t recommend it enough!

Second on my love list is this banana-blueberry muffin. I saw it on Natalie’s blog a couple of weeks ago and it spoke to me. I literally haven’t baked in over a year and for some reason these muffins just jumped off of the page and said “BAKE ME!” Consider it done. The recipe is from Martha Stewart. They were so scrumptious, I’m afraid Kevin will ask me to bake more often. SOS! (though now that the Kitchen Aid mixer is back in action, I won’t deny that I’m contemplating making banana bread too…because those ripe bananas need to serve a purpose).

Third— these baby bibs from Ollie & Tate. Not only are they cute as can be, but they’re very high-quality and well-made. I even received a hand-written note from the shop owner as a thank you and congratulating me on my pregnancy. I love it when shops go the extra mile like that. I ordered mine during their 4th of July promo sale, but they have deals all the time. Check out their IG here.

Number four was one of those it’s 9 PM on a Saturday night and I’m just now realizing I want a new swimsuit for tomorrow kind of purchases. We had a pool play date planned for today and I wanted to get a tankini top to wear for swimming since none of my one-pieces can fit my belly anymore (they just barely fit my darn torso in the first place, so there’s zero extra stretch room). 


I tried on a few tops and these two were my favorites. The blue is from the maternity collection and the black one was from the regular collection but it works with a bump as well! I ended up opting for the black because the ruffles at the neckline exactly match a pair of J.Crew bikini bottoms I have. It’s perfect!

Five— I am always on the hunt for flowy tops that can fit my growing bump and I was pumped to find this super-cute Liz Lange maternity top. It’s lightweight and linen-ish with a pretty crochet detail at the neckline and down the front. Totally reminds me of the types of tops I’ve been seeing at Madewell all summer (but a heck of a lot cheaper!) Truthfully, this can be (and will be) worn after pregnancy too.

Sixth and last, whilst shopping at Target, I stumbled upon this amaze cover-up/dress. It’s such a score at $27 and though it doesn’t seem to currently be available online, Nordstrom has an identical navy version (which is a little pricier, but I love this so much I would have paid that).

When I posted the shot below on IG earlier today I got a lot of comments about my hair. I was having a great hair day today which is weird for a Sunday since that’s my “4th day hair” day, but I’ll take it! Anyway, I didn’t style my hair today—I sprayed some dry shampoo on the roots on Saturday night before I went to sleep and then I brushed my hair out this morning and the curls I once had loosened up and fell this way. I have a video on my YouTube channel all about how I style my hair days one through four and you can also read my hair routine/washing post for more information about how I wash, style and maintain my hair. My hair routine may not work for everyone but I know several of you have found it helpful in making your styles last longer!
This evening, Harper’s Godmother/auntie Candice came over to play and let Harper attack her with bronzer. Harper is obsessed with bandaids right now and demands to wear at least two because they “are magical.” She also had to put a bandaid on five of her stuffed animals because they “bumped their heads.” It’s pretty cute to hear her say it (I think I snapchatted it…and yes I just made that a verb!) We are thankful auntie C is such a good sport!

    Your hair is beautiful! I am excited to watch your video. Right now I can't get my hair to get past two days. It get so greasy so darn fast!

    I love that black bathing suit top and the coverup is so pretty- I'm obsessed with anything off the shoulder right now. Aubrey is interested in my makeup whenever she sees me getting ready so I bought her some from Little Cosmetics and while she still loves mine, she does like having her own (fake) makeup.ohhh the bandaid obsession- we were going through boxes of band aids like crazy so I finally cut strips of felt and attached Velcro to each end to make re-usable band aids for all of her (pretend boo boos & toys).

    Oh my gosh, how cute! All the babies around here end up with 4-5 band aids on their heads at all times. So glad she loves being a little doctor! I want that blue swimsuit top for myself (food baby!). Is it Target? Mine never has too many cute things, I love that tassle tunic.
