Our Weekend…

Happy Sunday!  I hope you and your families had a wonderful Independence Day weekend! I had Friday off of work and it was so wonderful to enjoy a long weekend and have some extra time to clean the house and run some errands.


Kevin got us off to an awesome start on Thursday by surprising me with a perfectly cleaned main floor when I got home from work. I love me some flowers, but a clean house is even better!

We started our Friday off with a visit to Wonder Wild. Harper loves going to the “jumpies” as she calls it and it almost always guarantees a solid afternoon nap.
During said nap, I went to Target to pick up some new cleaning supplies for the house. I was also on the hunt for some maternity shorts since I can’t fit into my regular ones anymore. I was bummed that Target’s selection was pretty limited but then I saw they had a ton of elastic waist shorts (thank you Lord for making them “in” this year, and thus, widely available) so I got a couple of pairs of those and sized up. Speaking of the bump, here I am at 24 weeks:

I also stopped in at Baby Gap and got a few things for baby boy…couldn’t resist “just hatched” in 0-3.

Finally, I went to MAC and Sephora to pick up Living Proof’s humidity shield finishing spray (btw, you can check out a massive review post of all of my Living Proof faves here), and a MAC eyeshadow in “copperplate” which is what I use to line my lower lash line most days. The Bobbi Brown longwear pencil was a freebie from Sephora.
I ended up getting caught in a rainstorm while I shopped (another reason I prefer to shop online!) but I didn’t want to risk buying the wrong size shorts since it’s hard to gage now…so it was a nap time well spent!

On Saturday we had the pleasure of having Meg, Kennedy and Caroline visit for a morning play date!  Kevin got us all donuts and it was the perfect second breakfast. Also, calories don’t exist on holiday weekends, in case anyone was wondering.

I was going through a bag of makeup, hair and skin products I had saved with Meg and the girls got excited about what they saw. Which, inevitably, led to this:

Saturday was also a great mail day! These adorable Noomie  layettes and bib came in as well as some pacifier clips I ordered:

Baby boy was also lucky to get this beautiful swaddle blanket and baby mittens from loulouandcompany. It’s the first blanket I’ve received for him and it’s so very soft. I can’t wait to wrap him in it! Harper was a major face-scratcher as a newborn, so I’m also so happy to have the super soft mittens for his little hands.

I’ve been needing some new running shoes (my current ones are seriously a sad situation) and KICKS USA sent me these amazing Nike Free runners which also arrived on Saturday— they’re so lightweight and have awesome support. In fact, these are the women’s version of the shoes Kevin wears to work out. I love black runners, they go with everything.

The second pair I got are some classic white chuck taylors. I don’t own a casual pair of runners like these and I love pairing shoes like this with leggings, casual denim and shorts for the summer and fall. So happy to have added these to my shoe collection! I will definitely share some photos when I wear these next.
The rest of our Saturday was spent coloring and playing…and we also ordered pizza. Yum! It would have been fun to go out for fireworks, but Harper melts down if she’s not asleep by 8…so we decided we should probably wait another year.

We’ve been hitting up the pool and splash pad at my in-law’s country club pretty much every Sunday lately. Every week, Harper asks “we go to splash pad and see dolphins?” She just loves it. So off we went today to splash around (to clarify, there are not actual dolphins there, ha).

In other news, I finally joined SnapChat. I didn’t really get it before and had to figure out how it worked, but I started to follow some of my favorite bloggers and I loved seeing little snippets of their lives outside of their blogs. I like that it’s less staged and just shows the day-to-day. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some gorgeous blog photos, but sometimes it’s nice to just see people with their families and living their everyday lives. Plus, I like hearing people’s voices and getting to know their personalities. It’s one of the reasons I also love when bloggers venture out to YouTube. My info is below if you want to follow me!
