Our Weekend…

Happy Sunday! We had such an amazing weekend— my mom came into town from Toronto and we celebrated Harper’s second birthday and my 32nd!

My mom flew in Friday and I took the day off to spend with her and Harper and to run last-minute errands for the party. We went to the Disney Store on Friday to buy Harper her beloved Kristoff doll she talked about all month, and she said “no!” and picked Minnie Mouse instead. Go figure! Then we had a girls lunch and then came home for nap time. Later on that evening we had a relaxed family visit to the park and dinner.

We worked hard late into the night to set-up for the party— and I’ll share the full details, more photos and sources in tomorrow’s post.

Saturday was a busy day— my mom and Kevin took Harper to her Little Gym class (it was “graduation day”) while my wonderful in-laws helped me put the finishing touches on all of the decor.

It was special to have my mom in town for Harper’s birthday— it was also the first time she has seen me in person while pregnant!

The party was so fun and it was so great to see so many family members and friends come out to celebrate Harper.

Today the weather was perfect (not too hot— rare for Houston this time of year) so we headed to the Houston Zoo to check out the new gorilla exhibit. My mom has never been to our zoo so it was a fun way to spend our morning.

In other news, I’m 19 weeks pregnant and plan to share an update soon now that I’ve almost hit that halfway point. Our anatomy scan is this week, so all fingers and toes are crossed that baby boy is healthy and growing well. My bump is coming along— some days it looks huge and other days it’s so-so. I love having a bump but no doubt these hot and humid summer months will be a challenge!
