We took a long weekend in Dallas this past week so that I could attend the RewardStyle conference at the Joule Hotel and though it was an awesome trip, we are all exhausted and happy to be home!
I’ll share more about the conference in an upcoming post but I thought I would share a few snaps from our weekend.
I didn’t get to spend a ton of time with Kevin and Harper due to the conference schedule, but we did share some moments together as a family in between all of their fun outings and nap time.
When we first arrived, we dropped everything off at the hotel and walked across the street to grab some lunch. Harper loved the eye and kept saying “the eye, the eye” and gesturing that she wanted to see it.
We took the rest of the day easy since the poolside party was at 5:30 that evening. Harper was the ultimate helper with my makeup. She tried to mimic everything I did, including pretending to use the hairdryer to warm my eyelash curler (best beauty trick ever!) It was precious.
On Friday, Kevin and Harper went to the Dallas Aquarium. Kevin said she loved it, but was scared of the larger animals like the manatees. She also became enamoured with sloths and of course he had to buy her one in the gift shop. She named him fuzzy.
We were all about the room service this trip since Harper would pop up in her crib around 6:30ish each morning and yell “it’s breakfast time mommy!” Talk about a wake-up call, huh?
She was surprisingly chipper each morning and totally hammed it up with our room service people. She would greet them and say “good morning!” and “thank you” when they set the food down on the table. She’s usually pretty shy when she’s first around strangers, but they had berries (her favorite) so I think they got on her awesome list immediately.
On Saturday, Kevin took Harper to the Perot Museum. They had an awesome kids area and she had a blast.
Apparently, Harper roared at all of the dinosaurs!
Later that day after nap time, I had a few hours between the last conference session and that night’s finale party, so we went to the pool as a family (thanks to Megan for these sweet family candids!)

Today our time in Dallas came to an end and we packed up and drove home. I think this little one is going to miss the room service and breakfast in bed (okay, maybe me a little bit too…)
Hope your weekend was amazing!
So happy to meet you in person! You have a beautiful family!
So happy we met! 🙂 I hope we can stay in touch…going to read your blog now!
Sounds like a fun weekend, Harper sounds like such a little ham! And her speech is coming right along, eh?! 🙂
Oh Yeah! She is non-stop in little sentences. She knows what she wants and she's not afraid to say it (or whine it!)
Such a cutie!!!! And love your tunic!
Dallas looks like such a fun city! That eye only slightly creeped me out! Harper is so cute with her sloth!
Sounds like you all had a nice weekend. I think I learned that hairdryer/eyelash curler from you a while back and it really is a great tip.
What a blast and Fuzzy is such a cute name for a sloth. Harper is adorable!
