MAC Prep + Prime Highlighter in “Radiant Rose”
Y’all, I’ve only been using this highlighter for a few weeks, and it has officially
made its way to the “best under eye highlighter ever” list. I started using
pink-toned under eye highlighters a few years ago in lieu of concealer, with
the first one being Maybelline’s eraser dark circle treatment concealer and the second Bare Mineral’s “strokeof light.” The Bare Minerals has been my go-to for over a year now, but it was
out of stock the last time I went to Ulta and I ended up needing to replenish a
few favorites at MAC and saw the Prep + Prime highlighter and decided to give
it a try on a whim. I like it better than the BM because the pink is slightly lighter and more…luminescent. It just gives a glowy appearance to the under eye area and makes eyes look SO bright and awake. I truly think this should be part of every beauty routine. I also like that this product has a brush built-in versus the doefoot applicator I was using before. I use a small eyeshadow blending brush to smooth it all out after applying with the brush. If you’ve never tried this, you should.
I think I’ve mentioned on IG that Kevin and I are big Howard Stern fans. Well,
I wasn’t initially. Before we got our new car that came with a free Sirius
Satellite Radio subscription, I don’t know that I had ever heard the show. I thought
it was just some raunchy radio show, but boy, how wrong I was. Now I don’t
listen to anything else when I drive (except
for occasionally listening to a few tracks from 1989 between commercials).
I love Howard and Robin and he conducts the absolute best celebrity interviews
you’ll ever listen to— and typically they’re about an hour or so long. Last
year, my favorite was Sia’s
interview (though there were so many good ones). 2015 is off to a great start too— Howard interviewed both
Bradley Cooper and Larry David last week (any Curb fans out there? One of my fave shows
of all time!) and both interviews were fantastic. You can listen to Larry
David’s here and
Bradley’s here. And now, I officially want to see American Sniper.
Starbucks Bacon + Gouda Breakfast Sandwich
We usually get Starbucks on Saturdays and this sandwich is unbelievable. If you haven’t tried it, you must. 350 calories isn’t so bad either for bacon, eggs, cheese and bread.
Mophie iPhone Charging Case
We use our cell phones a lot at work. Sometimes we get stuck at the hospital in meetings or overseeing media interviews and we still need to access our emails and make calls. Our iPhone batteries drain so quickly so our boss got us all Mophie Charging cases. I keep the case and charging cord in my purse at all times, just in case I need to re-charge my phone wherever I am, or, in my car. It’s a lifesaver!
All of this Valentine’s stuff from IKEA
I was at IKEA picking up some curtains and I saw all of this adorable ribbon and wrapping paper and I couldn’t resist. Now I just need to be inspired to make something…
LOVED the Sia interview last year, it made me such a fan of hers! The Dan Rather and Pharrell interviews were favorites from last year as well (plus so many more).
Sia's interview was incredible—so was her signing! I've been a fan of her music since the "breathe me" days, but didn't know much about her of her life until that interview. I too enjoyed Dan Rahter and Pharrel's interviews. I also surprisingly enjoyed Pitbull's interview. He was a little different than I expected and I didn't know anything about his background.
sorry, Dan Rather. Typing fail!
Do you find you have to charge your Mophie case a lot? I have to charge it every night separate from the phone and it's not what I thought it would be. Still nice to have though, but not sure it's worth the money.
Yes, I do find that it does not hold the charge as long as I thought it would—however, I always keep the charging cord with me, so I can charge my phone at my computer using the USB or in my car. It's nice to have the option to use the case to charge my phone or to charge the case itself and keep it charged for when I need it.
I love the prep + prime highlighter! I've been using it in Light boost for about two years now and it's such a great and less expensive alternative to YSL's Touche Eclat.
Oh, and I wanted to mention that I love your shorter hair V. I think it's a nice change, and it's always great to switch things up even if it's a subtle one.
thank you so much Noelle 🙂 love that you also use the prep + prime! I truly do feel it's just as good if not better than TC (which I have used in the past). I do like my hair— it takes a little getting used to but it's a needed change! After years of dying the ends, it needed a refresher 🙂
Love your beauty rec's. I never try new things, so you have always been one of the bloggers who brings new things for me to try. Ikea has some really cute party supplies too, like pinwheels and lantern, was definitely surprised seeing them!
I really think you will love it!
Make Up For Ever also has a great under eye concealer. The packaging and applicator looks similar to the MAC one.
is it pink toned as well? 🙂
The bacon + gouda sandwich is my go-to! Also good news about that – I was chatting to my Division I athlete friends' trainer/nutritionist who's really credible and well known, and he says that is by far the best thing to get at Starbucks for breakfast, which I totally didn't expect!
Well, now I feel even less guilty! Yay! 🙂 it's so awesome- WAY better than their other ones IMO (and I've had them all).
I've always loved your beauty recs so I was very excited to see this post 🙂 I've never tried MAC prep & prime, but will definitely put it on my wishlist! I have a mophie case and it's a life saver for blog events – you usually end up using so much social media and taking so many pics – and you don't want to miss out on anything because of a dead battery. 🙂
