Hello and happy Tuesday! Last week, my second fix from StitchFix arrived and I was so excited to open the box and try everything on!
I immediately fell in love with the first item in my fix, a cobalt blue lace-trim blouse. It’s something I would pick on my own if I was out shopping (in fact, I had been looking for a top similar to this one for awhile) so my stylist hit this one out of the ballpark (thanks Layla!) I love how feminine the lace is and the bright blue is a fun way to infuse color into my fall wardrobe.
One of the items I sent back was this simple charcoal gray tee. It was super comfy, long, a nice thin (but high quality) fabric and had everything I normally love about a tee, but I already have a tee this color, so for $44, I couldn’t justify adding it to my closet.
The second item I didn’t keep was this moto-style jacket. It was really short on me and I didn’t like the way the front looked and the way it fit my body overall. The one detail I did like were the quilted sleeves, but overall this was a miss for me…and I need to clean my mirror, clearly.
Finally, the last item I sent back was this printed pencil skirt. It’s one of those stretchy/thinner fabric pencil skirts, so I felt it didn’t have enough structure. The print was kind of fun and unexpected though.
You know what's funny? I have the same jacket you have in the first set of photos, and it's been sitting in my closet for a bit now, and JUST TODAY I was thinking to myself, "I wish I knew what to wear that with." Voila, you answered my question. Thank you!
xoxo

I really like the length on the black top.
I actually got the skirt in one of my boxes this summer and kept it! It looks great on you!
Where are your cute sweats from? 🙂 LOVE that blue top on you!
Love that blue top! I like the moto jacket too but I agree it's too short.
I received two fixes in October and only kept one item between the two! I think they are having trouble styling my pregnant body. Oh well, there's always November 🙂
It was super fun to meet you at the PRSA Luncheon today. It was actually my first PRSA luncheon. My background is more in marketing so I usually rotate and go to one a month for either the AMA, Ad Fed, IABC and WEN. My husband did his kidney transplant through Methodist, so I was super excited to hear a speaker with Methodist and in my field and I thought the luncheon was great! I am going to try to make it to Mingle Bells! The chicken was yummy too. I don't know about your table, but my table was oohing and ahhing at their plates, so we asked the waiter for the recipe and I thought I'd share. It doesn't look healthy at all- but gosh was it good and looks easy. It looks like the ingredients are for a super large group of people, so we might want to cut the ingredients way down. And they didn't give instructions so I guess just reduce the wine before adding everything else together and cooking….anyhow, here are the ingredients they gave: 8 oz sundried tomatoes, 2 diced shallots, 4 cups white wine, 1 qt heavy cream, salt and pepper to taste….cheers to a great end to 2014!
Hi Vargo! I was so happy to meet you today as well 🙂 it's always nice connecting with those in the same field. Sorry I couldn't stay longer to chat- I was carpooling with my co-workers and they had already started to walk out!
Glad to hear all went well for your husband- we are so lucky to live in a city with such an incredible medical center. I enjoyed the lunch as well— loved how the bread was still hot when they brought it to the table! Loved the sauce they used for the chicken too.
Have a great week and feel free to email me anytime— PS the scarf looked great on you!
