Welcome to part II of my StitchFix Vacay! You can read part one here.
We started our day with delicious coffee and breakfast at the house and then we headed to StitchFix’s warehouse “the hizzie,” which is huge—like, massive department store huge, with racks upon racks of clothing, all neatly and strategically organized.
This was beyond-a-doubt my absolute favorite part of the trip. I really enjoyed seeing how it all works and getting the hands-on experience of actually putting a fix together. We enjoyed meeting all of the warehouse employees and learning what their different roles were. Let’s just say that there are a lot of moving people and parts involved in making these fixes happen— especially since the company has grown so immensely during the last couple of years.
Justin (below) was the best tour guide. He and his wife also just had a baby and he was so sweet showing us pictures on his phone! I just loved his enthusiasm and passion for what he does. He also knew each and every employee so well and told us unique traits and characteristics about them (like one dude who has the #2 rap single on the Russian iTunes charts right now—what?! I love it). You could just tell that he was such a great manager and really cares about the people who work on his team.
Just like StitchFix’s headquarters downtown, the warehouse is full of all kinds of awesome, like this wall.
We loved getting to see all of the different styles available. I’m pretty sure we all asked if we can just assemble our next fix ourselves, haha. There were so many cute styles and I was able to snap a few pictures of items I loved to add to my Pinterest board to give my stylist ideas for my next fix!
Later during our tour, we met Thomas, who took us through the process of getting a “fix” together. He even timed us and it was quite fun racing around the warehouse trying to find the items we needed. They really made it a great experience for us.
We learned to fold and assemble a fix correctly, too–Thomas (below) is a pro! He also had on pink patent leather Doc Martens. He may be my spirit animal, for real.
Seeing all of the clothes at the warehouse and talking to the staff, we learned some tricks to get the most out of your fix, so I thought I’d share those here in case you are a subscriber or are thinking about it.
After our visit to the warehouse, the StitchFix gals surprised us with appointments at The Dry Bar. It was my first time going there and it was so fun getting pampered. I asked for a combo of the comso (big, voluminous curls) and the southern comfort (very big, blown-out). The higher the hair, the closer to God, y’all.
My first dress was picked by one of the stylists and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Navy? Check. Lace? Check. I just loved it!
We just had such an incredible time! I’m so grateful to StitchFix for giving us the full experience from headquarters to the warehouse— and then all of the fun things we got to do in between, like this shoot. I said this in my first post, but they really went above and beyond and made this experience so special for us.
After the shoot, we headed out for dinner and had our last night with the StitchFix team. Dinner was delicious and I slept like a baby that night from having such a busy day. My final StitchFix vacay post will be highlights from our last day there— it was a free day and I got to explore the city a little bit before my flight.
Hope you have a great week and thanks for reading! If you are curious and would like to try StitchFix, you can sign up here. My next fix comes October 29th, and I will be posting a review then!

Thanks
Hi Ada! It was so much fun , I really enjoyed it! I would check out StitchFix's site to see if there are any employement opportunities there!
I would really like to hear your thoughts on the recent criticism that Stich Fix has come under? There are a lot of issues with marking up the prices of discount items. One blogger got a pair of short in her fix that had a Nordstorms Rack price tag for $25 and Stich Fix was charging her about $60 for the shorts.
I own a clothing boutique and carry many of the same brands as StitchFix. The prices they charge are ridiculous. For example, I saw StitchFix sent a blogger a dress that I carry in my store. I charge $53 for it. Which is the MSRP that the manufacturer (Everly) recommended on that particular dress. StitchFix charged almost $90 for it. What a joke.
Hi there! I think a lot of retailers buy from the same manufacturers/wholesalers. A few of the bloggers on the trip had asked about this and there was a mix-up and the wrongly tagged items were sent to SF and then overlooked by QC, which was a mistake on their part. There is more info in this article: https://www.adweek.com/adfreak/why-did-these-68-shorts-stitch-fix-show-2495-price-tag-nordstrom-rack-159245
Here is a summary from that article:
It was a simple mix-up, Stitch Fix CEO Katrina Lake told AdFreak in an email this afternoon. The shorts, she says, were sent to the wrong retailer (Stitch Fix rather than the intended Nordstrom Rack) and accidentally sent out to subscribers with the wrong tag.
"Many of our vendors work with other retail partners such as Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack. Our vendor mistakenly shipped us product that was meant for another retailer. We have quality control processes in our warehouse to catch such errors but in this instance the tag was missed. We sincerely apologize for the mistake and we want to make sure this never happens again," Lake said.
"The prices we assign to our merchandise are MSRP 100 percent of the time. Many retailers choose to discount different merchandise for promotions or anniversary sales. If a client sees an item that they purchased from Stitch Fix at a discounted price at another retailer, we will always investigate, adjust our prices internally, and credit the client for the price difference.
______________
I think when you use StitchFix, you are signing up for a service in which there is a benefit to you— a stylist selects the clothes, they are shipped directly to your home and you don't have to waste time or gas driving somewhere, finding parking, etc. Definitely convenient for those who like to shop online, don't like to shop at all or are just looking to mix it up in their closet without having to make much effort. It's not for everyone and you're never obligated to keep any piece and you can cancel at any time if it's not for you.
What I gather from that article is that stitch fix is trying to save face and make it seem like a small mistake. I totally get that vendors sell to many retailers, discount or not but stitch fix claims they price at the MSRP and the above post tells a different story. What is also odd is they say that the vendor sent them an item intended for a different retailer but why would it have the rack price tag already on it. It would have the MSRP and then the retailer adds their own price tag. It is coming off really shady and that they are taking advantage of women(mothers) who don't have the time to shop. I get that people don't have to use their service.
If you look in the original comments on the YouTube video that started all of this, Kut from the Kloth, the brand who makes the shorts that blogger was given that were tagged for Nordstrom Rack makes an apology for their mistake. Check it out if you're interested. It looks like the wrong shipment was sent to the wrong retailer and thus, that shipment had the tags for the original retailer it was supposed to go to and it was missed by SF.
I also want to mention that I saw this on SF website recently: What if I see an item in my Stitch Fix package elsewhere for a lower price?
If you find an identical product at another online retailer within 7 days of receiving the item, we will match the lower price for you and for future clients receiving that product. Please email us the details of your item as well as a link to the lower-priced item to [email protected] so our buying team can confirm; if the product is identical, we will match the lower price and credit you the difference. We do our best to ensure that our pricing is competitive and appreciate your help in making sure that this is always true.
Hi Veronika, great recap! Do you happen to know who the dress on the far left of your last group photo is by? Thanks!
Hi there! I am not sure of the brand name of the dress but if you are a StitchFix member, you can pin it on your Pinterest board and request your stylist to send it to you if they have it in stock in your size 🙂
