I love living in Texas. Believe me, I’m the first to sing the praises of this mostly-sunny-year-round state, but these past few weeks of temps in the 90’s and 100’s (and about 130 degrees when you get into your car after work) are not good.
We had a fun weekend of Harper antics and family time. For some reason, even though she’s down to one nap at day at daycare, she’s still wanting to take two naps on weekends. Maybe Little Gym really tires her out or maybe she loves us so much that she wants us to be able to sneak in some extra zzzz’s too. Either way, thank you, sweet girl!
Yes, this is my child trying to eat her father’s foot.
Saturday afternoon we headed out to Tyler’s first birthday party, drenched in sunscreen. There was a snow cone truck and trackless train rides and we had a fun time, despite the raging heat (thank goodness for big trees that provided the perfect amount of shade!) Harper, as always, wanted more goldfish and made her desire very known when this photo was taken.
Saturday night I went out for Candice’s birthday. We ate at 60 Degrees Mastercrafted and I had the steak burger and mac n’ cheese. Delish!
I wore an old favorite, this bright coral Parker dress with my Vince Camuto heels.
After dinner, we headed to Local Pour, which was packed. I’m not much of a bar person these days, but they had a really great live band with a female singer and she was fantastic.
Sunday was all about relaxing and Harper and I had a glorious nap together. God I love nap time. Then there were more tea parties…
Megan brought Starbucks over during Harper’s second nap. It was fun catching up and caffeinating ourselves.
Then Candice came over so we could say happy birthday and give her the card we made for her…and by we…I mean me…though Harper did try to eat some of the card stock while I hot glued it all together.
I also decided that the chalkboard should get an update, given that it still said “Happy Birthday Harper.” Summer is sweet, indeed.
I love your hair pulled to the side! Sounds
Like you had a great weekend!
I love that ruffle dress! Harper gets cuter by the day and your house is just so pretty! Happy Monday!
Love the new design of the blog (at least I think it's a newer design)!! Such cute photos of Harper! You looked awesome on the coral dress and heels – as you always do!
I haven't been on here in a few weeks, but did you get a new layout? Either way, it looks great! 🙂 Love your coral dress, esp the shoes! Marli is only taking 1 nap nowadays, but thank goodness it's like a 2-3 hr nap so that's usually when I nap also or get some chores done. Sounds like you had a great weekend. Will have to check out those restaurants. We are dying to try new places.

Harper is so cute! My daughter has the same tea set – she plays with it everyday and loves it too! I wanted to get a pottery barn kids chair, is Harper's the smaller size or medium?
I'm not sure but I think the ruffle one only comes in one size?
So don't think I'm super weird, but I totally pinned a lot of your outfits this morning from Pinterest! I'm about to start a new job and your outfits are always darling! My office actually used to be so casual, so it's great inspiration for me as I start to dress up again. Anyhoo, Harper's are too! The card is perfect and the chalkboard looks great! I have an 8 month old girl- Aubrey Vargo Williams, and she is crawling every where and it looks like they just get busier movin' anywhere they can! Look at Harper peeking out under the stool! Cute, cute!!
What a fun-filled weekend! I have a question about your PB chair- did the foam come with slip covers for each piece? Mine did not but I've seen others online with the slipcovers and my foam is falling apart a little in places. The chair is only 6 months old too!
Hmmm I just asked Kevin and he said ours was just the main cover that goes over the chair
Yes, it is very hot here in Houston! I am proud of you for spending the day in the shade! Looks like a fun weekend! 🙂
& I love that Red Dress!! Super cute.
