Happy Monday! I’m starting this week off with a video of my hair routine! I was getting a lot of requests to show how I style it in between washings, and I finally sat down and filmed every day last week from Thursday through Sunday.
The video is way too long and I repeat myself constantly (sorry!) but it will give you an idea of how I style my hair (with no heat) on days 3 and 4 of my routine. You can read all about my hair washing routine here. I still wash it twice a week like before, but I’ve started to use no heat on days 3 and 4 of my routine.
I didn’t want to spend time on weekends styling my hair so I found a system that works for me to make it look styled when it hasn’t been. The big disclaimer here is that this may not work for every hair type. I have thin hair, but a lot of it and I have long hair that has a natural wavy texture and holds curl very well. If you have a similar hair type to mine, this may work very well for you. You never know until you try!
I took the pictures below on Sunday (my “4th day hair”) which you’ll see at the end of the video.
I hope you enjoy the video and please let me know if you have any questions I didn’t go over.
Have a great week!
Loved it! I'm glad you did a video 🙂 I am training my hair to go even longer between washes – summer and not really going anywhere can help with that process. I usually wash every two days, but I've been able to stretch it to three! Keeping it up on top of my head as much as possible definitely helps.
Did you end up touch up curling at all before the concert, or night out with your friends?
I decided not to because it was so humid out- I just used the same scrunching technique to liven up the curls a bit before heading out. I feel like my hair gets curlier in humidity anyway. I try not to use any heat on my hair days 3 and 4. An exception to this would be if we had a wedding or something to go to.
i've always wanted to "train" my hair to do this. i've always had short hair but now have long(er) hair and am so impatient when it comes to drying/styling!! maybe i'll give this a go! thank you!
Your hair is gorgeous! Can you please make a tutorial video showing how you set your hair in Velcro rollers?
https://veronabrit.blogspot.com/2010/08/requested-my-hair-routine-in-10-steps.html here is a link to my tutorial!
Thanks for this. I was trying to figure out if you are rolling all sections forward (instead of back)? I love the movement your ends get!
I sleep with a top knot every once in a while, but I'm definitely going to start putting it up nightly. I need to try out the glossing cream as well! Thanks for the tips!

Amazing!! My hair is so oily that the longest I can do is two days and even then, I wear it in a pony tail on the second day. I will say that I forgot how nice "pregnancy hair" is though…it's not as oily so maybe I can try for 3 right now! 😉
Thanks for the tutorial! How to you prevent/fix cowlicks or funny parts that come from sleeping on your hair?
I don't really do anything to be honest. I just hope for the best! I find that sleeping with it up helps the hair keep the curls better.
Thanks for your tips!

I love this! And I will defenitly be trying this on my hair! Hopefully, it will work since I don't think we have the same hair type.

Thanks for the tutorial! I love your paddle brush! Where did u get it from?
I'm pretty sure i got it at Target
thank you for the tutorial!! i feel like i'm clueless when it comes to styling my hair.. and now especially with Kenzie it goes up in a messy bun more often then I should! When you put it up at night you never wake up with creases from the ponytail? And ps.. i scored that glossing cream and the dry shampoo i think in an voxbox! so can't wait to try them out!
I'm only able to keep my hair straight, curls never hold, but I am able to go 3 days without washing. It's so fantastic.
Great video and helpful tips.
