When I was pregnant, I purchased these gold polka-dot decals from Land of Nod. I had planned to use them in Harper’s closet and bathroom but I decided when they arrived that the dots were a little larger than I had hoped and decided to scrap the project.
A couple of weeks ago, I was visiting Megan and Olivia and saw sweet little polka dots in Olivia’s nursery and I was inspired to find smaller gold polka-dots for Harper’s nursery.
I found some on Etsy and they arrived within a week of ordering. The timing was perfect because it was fun to update Harper’s nursery a little bit for her first birthday (which is on Tuesday—seriously, how did that happen?!)
I’m really happy with how it turned out! I decided to go with two inch polka-dots which I purchased from Allfourwalls on Etsy for the bargain price of $14. You can’t beat that, folks. I know some companies have them for twice the price, but believe me, these are high quality and you don’t need to spend more.
These were incredibly easy to use. I just applied them randomly— no measuring, spacing, etc. It’s totally a peel-and-stick project that takes less than 30 minutes.
The best part? They don’t ruin your walls and are easy to remove if you make a mistake. I decided to just do one wall in her room, but you could do an entire room if you wanted to. I also LOVE how Erinn used gold polka-dots in her daughter Kenley’s nursery closet.
We have textured walls in our entire house (not my favorite, but it’s common in townhomes where I live) so I was worried the texture would cause the decals not to adhere or look bad, but they look fantastic.

Oh I love it!! This is what we are doing with Scarlett's room right now! 🙂
Hi, I’m expecting a baby girl in November, our first child. I’m doing a nursery similar to yours. It’s so pretty and elegant looking. I wanted to know if you got the small or large pouf ottoman from Restoration Baby & Child? We got the small and I’m affraid it will be too small.
I got the large one! See how it works when it comes in and maybe it will be a good fit for your space 🙂 Good luck abd congratulations!
Looks great V! And thanks for the shout out 😉 I love some of the books you have on her shelves, definitely adding some to our wishlist. We are always looking for new ones.
Very pretty! Do you cover that small square window when Harper sleeps? My little guy needs pitch black. It's super annoying!
nope! we leave it 🙂
Love this V! Did you find that the small pack was enough? I want to do this for my daughter's room as well but we may be moving out of state next year, so I am thinking the large pack would accommodate both rooms:)
I still have over half left just having done that one wall 🙂
Thank you! What a great deal:)
Her nursery is gorgeous! LOVE those gold dots! We find out tomorrow if we're having a boy or a girl.. If it's a girl those dots definitely are happening. 🙂
Happy almost birthday, Harper!

Everything is so very pretty! I love the gold dots! I wanted to do something like that, but our wall had wainscoting and I thought it would be too busy. Just love love love Harper's room!

I have that same faux shearling rug. Have you ever washed it? I am curious if laundering it will ruin it.
The polka dots are so sweet! Perfect touch and Happy Birthday to Harper!
Beautiful! I saw that your canopy was from IKEA and I just wanted to make sure you were aware about that product and the recall due to the strangulation hazard. https://www.ikea.com/us/en/about_ikea/newsitem/031914_recall_canopy

Where did you get the gold print on the book shelves? The nursery is beautiful!
What size polka dots did you use? TIA!
Could you please give me information on the carpet in the room? Thank you!
We didn’t pick it- our home was the model home— but I would NOT recommend this carpet. It showed stains very easily and always showed lines and spots any time it was steped on or vaccumed. I recommend you check out berber carpet which IMO is much better and what we have in our new house.
