The first month of baby’s life is full of learning— your baby’s cues, a new routine and so much more. I thought about the products we’ve most loved during the first month of Harper’s life and below are some of my favorites. You can also check out my first weeks baby essentials post for more baby must-haves!
Marc by Marc Jacobs Pretty Eliza Nylon Diaper Bag
I love this diaper bag because it’s roomy, doesn’t look like a traditional diaper bag and is made of easy-to-clean material. I also love all of the pockets because it makes it easy to organize. The best part is that it can be used for travel or as a gym bag when you no longer need to use it for your baby.
BabyLegs
I purchased BabyLegs to keep Harper warm in our house during the summer when our AC is blasting because it’s 100 degrees outside. BabyLegs allow me to dress her in a onesie and keep her warm while simultaneously making diaper changes easy.
Puj Flyte Tub
One of the best newborn inventions ever, this foam tub fits right into your sink and folds up for easy storage. A must-have for new parents, especially if you are short on space or just want a lightweight, easy-to-use product. Harper loves baths in her Puj tub!
J.Crew Vintage V-Neck Tees
I got these during the store’s 30% off promo and I pretty much live in them while I’m at home on leave. They are soft, comfortable and easy to nurse in.
Woombie
Otherwise known as the “magical baby sleeping device” in our house, the Woombie is unlike any other swaddler. Your baby’s arms (and legs) cannot escape from this. We prefer it to the Miracle Blanket and the Halo Sleep Sack because she can get her arms out of both of those. I love that it comes in cute patterns and it’s so easy to use and makes nighttime diaper changes easier than ever. You just unzip ONLY the bottom portion of the Woombie and baby stays swaddled while you change her. Mommas-to-be, add this to your registry!
Burts Bees Baby Wash
I purchased this a week ago and have really enjoyed using it when we bathe Harper. It smells like Honey and it’s a really natural product.
MAM pacifiers
At first, Harper didn’t seem to show a preference for any one pacifier, but in the past couple of weeks, she has made her wishes very clear- it’s the MAM or nothing! She used to take Avent pacifiers and the Soothies, but she now prefers the MAM pacifiers and makes a “what the heck is this” face when we try to give her another brand.
Mustela Newborn Starter Kit
I got this kit at one of my baby showers and absolutely love it! I love the foaming hair wash, body wash and diaper rash cream. Mustela products are wonderful and I even used their stretch mark cream during pregnancy.
Triple Paste
At about 3 weeks old, Harper started to get a bit of a diaper rash because she has a lot of dirty diapers. I change them right away, but she goes constantly so it’s important to use diaper cream to create a barrier for her sensitive skin.

I also have to give a shout-out to Jessica from the blog Little Baby Garvin (she has an adorable daughter also named Harper!) Her registry must-haves lists helped me select a lot of the baby items we use. I encourage you to check out the archives of some of your favorite mommy bloggers to help build your registry if you are expecting!
We use the Mustela foaming hair wash too and love it. The leg warmers are such a great idea. They will be great for when she starts to crawl too.
We registered for the PUJ Tub too! Can't wait to use in once our little one arrives! 🙂
I cannot agree more about the Woombie! I got one for my oldest when he was a baby, and it was a lifesaver! Some products are just so genius I can't stop talking about them- the Woombie is one of them. Happy to hear that things are going so well with little Harper- I just had baby #2 a few weeks before you had Harper, so it's fun to read and relate with your motherhood posts!
I still use Triple Paste with my 2 year old. I love that stuff. I get the big tub. It goes a long ways. I have the tube for my diaper bag. One thing that I love too his the arm & hammer munchkin little baggies/dispenser. They are great when you are out and about and need to bag up a dirty diaper. They block all the smell. Those two items are my must haves. Glad everything is going well with you and your little one.
Hi Veronica, I know you've just become a first time Mom – congrats!!! Just wondering, I really miss your fashion posts/videos. Is there any chance you will be posting some of these things in the future? If not, I may have to unfollow your site until I become a Mother myself. Thanks in advance for letting me know:D
Hi Reeze! Thanks for stopping by 🙂 right now, with a 6 week old baby to take care of all day, it's hard to find the time to do outfit photos. Plus, I am not working right now so until I go back to work at 12 weeks there likely won't be a lot of fashion content since I'm wearing t-shirts and shorts everyday.
I do plan to resume some fashion stuff/outfits when I go back to work since I will have to dress up again. I understand if you need to un-follow, I know a lot of people came to my blog for the outfits and that's not really the focus anymore.
We love the woombie, but scarlett just grew out of hers so we're in a pickle now since they are a bit pricey! love your favorites, great list mama!
Great list!! Love the tops and must try the Woombie next time. We also love Mustela…smells SO good!
These lists are my favorite! I'm expecting my first baby in September so I'm trying to soak in as much as I can from other moms. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
Love your blog! I am due with my first (girl too) any day now and I love seeing all your baby posts and pictures on instagram too! I took your advice and ordered some woombies =) They are too cute. Also, I adore that diaper bag. I got the same one and it will be perfect to use after baby as well! Thanks for sharing!!
awesome list! I picked up some of those jCrew tees a bit ago and love them. And my girls LOVED soothies forever. Then one stopped taking a paci, and the other now only prefers MAM. It looks like she gags when I give her the soothie. Too funny. ~Jenn

I am so happy to run into your blog, I have a 7 week old baby and just started a blog myself. I also live in those tee's except mine are from Target. I am also in love with Burt's Bees products, I use the diaper ointment and it gets rid of his rashes real quick.

First things first- Congratulations on your baby girl! I am a long time follower but I've never left a comment before.
I am a mom to a 14 month old boy and love the baby content! It's funny that you listed the jcrew v neck shirts. I lived in similar ones from Target which held up really well btw. Other than those, lasinoh lanolin and my sleep mask (nap when baby naps!) got me through the first several weeks. My son didn't need much other than the breast and a good swaddle so I didn't need much for him initially. He later grew attached to the FP snug a bunny bouncer and so did we!
Burt's Bee's is not as natural as they claim. Just an FYI.
ditto Leigh on Burt's Bees. if you're looking for a vegan-certified, botanically based baby line, let me know. the company I work for has amazing baby products and it's all I use on my little guy. great list – I loved the Miracle Blanket but we didn't swaddle long. and BabyLegs are a MUST in our house still… and my son is 10 months old! ha!
It's funny how all babies are differnt with pacifiers. Mine will only take NUK ones.
You must try the Burt's Bees diaper rash cream! It works wonders and smells awesome because it has lavender oil in it! The reviews on amazon speak for itself! But it's cheaper at Target 🙂
Triple paste and Mustela were two of my "can't live without" products after our second daughter was born. The Mustela foam cleanser was a life saver!!
