I haven’t owned a denim jacket in a long time but suddenly I was craving one. I wanted something lightweight for summer and a darker denim (though I love the light ones too!)
I was browsing at Nordstrom last week and saw a really cute denim jacket on display and decided to try it on just for fun. It was reasonably priced at $69 (some can go into the $200 range and I didn’t want to spend that) and it fit really nicely and was really thin (perfect for the hot weather). The jacket is by Kut from the Kloth Denim and it comes in different colors. For reference, I got a medium and I would say it fits on the smaller side, so size up if you’re between sizes. I’m 38 weeks, 2 days pregnant in these photos 🙂
A Cropped Denim Jacket
Denim Jacket- Kut from the Kloth denim @ Nordstrom (light color, dark color)
Necklace- J.Crew
Maxi Dress- c/o PB&J Boutique
A few ladies have asked me if this maxi dress is see-thru because of the close-up photo where you can see skin through it (it’s actually a nude slip, not my skin). Yes, the entire fabric of the dress is sheer. I have to wear it with a nude slip to make sure my underwear doesn’t show through.
I took a photo of the dress upside-down so you could see how the fabric is throughout the garment if you’re thinking of purchasing. The sheerness doesn’t bother me, but I realize that it may not be up everyone’s alley. I’ve kind of noticed that most maxi dresses that are a jersey/cotton material are not thick enough to wear without a slip and I wear them with slips even when I am not pregnant. My mint green one required a slip as well.
Wishing everyone a happy weekend!
I love the ease and comfort of a jean jacket, I like a white one also, great for the summer !
That jacket fits you perfectly! I've never owned a denim jacket but really want one! I often have problems with fit. You look beautiful:) I love the jacket over the maxi. Looks fresh for this time of year!
Really great find!
You look beautiful 🙂

Cute jacket, I love the Nordstrom here in Houston. Well, everywhere really 🙂
Question: how do you usually go about trying new makeup out at makeup counters?? I'm starting a new job soon, so I was seriously prepared to drop some $$$ on new makeup, and the Nordstrom MAC associate and the MAC store associate at the galleria both looked at me like I was crazy when I told them I wanted to look at a few shades of eyeshadow, and try some new powder. When the lady at Nordstrom was putting the MAC powder on my wrist, I was watching her and she was like, "Are you waiting for something to happen? It's already on!"
I was like, "ok, you know, I guess I'll just think about it"…and walked off. LOL. And then same rudeness at the MAC store. So I left empty-handed. Does this happen to you too? Or was it just a bad luck day?
@Donna—MAC stores can be a hit or miss—that is bizarre though, I would write them a customer service complaint email after that experience.
I recommend the Bobbi Brown counter at Saks. The peope there always seem nice. I personally never get my makeup done at the counter because I stick to the same look and don't love getting my makeup done, but I've seen tons of people at all of the Saks makeup counters and it seems to be the norm there to give good customer service.
Thanks for your response! I'll try to make it to Saks sometime 🙂 I typically don't like to have sales associates be super assertive, but I am quite unfamiliar with makeup, so customer service would be of great help.
love the jacket!
you look so cute and glamorous with the bump 🙂

What type of slip do you wear? I'm looking for one to wear under maxi dresses.
@kelly it's a skirt slip from target- a loose one, not a shape wear one.
How long is the slip? Just knee length or is it full length?
@stylishdish- it's a knee-length slip
