I’ve been talking a lot about fall lately because a lot of my readers have asked about transitioning pieces into fall.
Neon is the perfect example of something that’s tougher to bring into fall. I paired my neon pink sweater with a deep burgundy skirt and added warm, gold accessories—a perfect way to wear neon into fall.
Sweater- Linen Tippi- J.Crew (buy it here in merino wool)
Skirt- Target (buy it here)
Belt- J.Crew (similar)
Necklace- Banana Republic (love this option!)
Shoes- Nine West (buy them here)
How are you going to transition your favorite summer pieces into fall? Tell me how you’d style them below!
I loooooove this!!!
Very nice mix of colors! Def a fall look to me. I just wish the weather would cool down already, sick of these high temperatures now :((.
This is a great way to transition neon to fall! I've also been wondering how to transition neon and mint (my two favorites of the summer) into fall. You have the right idea pairing the color with a bold "fall" color.
Maria- mint Is amazing with forest green and navy!
Love this outfit!!!
I love pairing the neon top with the burgundy skirt — what a great look for fall! xo

Veronika, I love your blog and your OOTD's! I have been noticing lately that your face looks different. I think (as your previous post mentioned) that is is a combination of your eyebrows and all the hair you have hanging on either side of your face. It makes your features disappear! I looked back at some wedding photos and your eyebrows were the same shape but a little thinner at the bottom. You were stunning!
Have you thought about getting your hair cut, other than just a trim? It looks too bottom heavy and is making your overall look seem frumpy. Maybe 3 inches or so? Or maybe try a half-up hairstyle so your face is more center of attention! 🙂
love this combo! i cannot wait to transition my neon into fall– i don't think i could live without it at this point! however, i'm over in san antonio and start perspiring at the mere thought of wearing a sweater currently…
love your blog xx

Great outfit! Love the gold belt with the gold necklace! Love to H and Lulu!
@eml- I am not cutting my hair, I like it the way it is. Thanks, though. Comparing yourself to how you look on your wedding day is unrealistic as you are glammed up on your wedding day. I like a simple look for the everyday and don't think my features look different.
Fabulous example of a transitional outfit. I don't think there's anything wrong with a little neon as long as it's done the right way. I think neon pink is easier to pull off in the fall/winter than say neon yellow or green.
Of course you wouldn't notice your features looking different! I was only comparing your EYEBROWS on your wedding day.
Good luck!
@eml—Actually, I do notice that my eyebrows looked different on my wedding day because that is the only day they looked like that, ever, since they were filled in professionally by a makeup artist. They have never looked like that since, even when I fill them in myself. I don't really think my features look different than they did last year or last week, but to each their own.
I am not trying to be defensive here—but maybe I am misunderstanding your comment? good luck with what?
I think it's about what fabrics you pair with as well! Make sure your non-neon piece is a heavier fabric.
I think you look gorgeous! Great outfit, love the colour combo! Also I think your hair looks totally gorgeous and I like your eyebrows, I think you look very natural and beautiful

I have also thought that you've looked different lately, although I can't quite put my finger on what it is, exactly. Maybe it's because you were more tan in previous posts? I was wondering if you have ever considered using a bold shade of lipstick or doing a smoky eye for work, just to change it up? I know you like the simple look for your everyday makeup, but maybe throwing in a bold eye shadow or lip color would play up your features. As always, your hair looks great! I wouldn't cut it either!
Burgundy and neon pink? yes, please! Great combo!
@ciera-I would not wear a smokey eye to work, sorry 🙁 I just don't think it's really a look for me. Even makeup artists have told me that because of the shape of my eye, I would have to place the "crease color" really high up for it to make an impact. Not only do I not have the time, but it's also not a look I'm interested in for the workplace, personally.
I have tried a bold lip which is fun but for the everyday I just like to keep it simple and I'm more comfortable with a pink gloss.
I think the real reason my features don't look "played up" is the camera and the lighting—my pics are from further away so it's hard to see features really defined that way.
I love how you paired this with the bright pink 🙂 you look great!

Love the color combo with the gold jewelry – that burgundy is PERFECT for fall! xx Nina
I'm definitely transitioning my brights into Fall.
I have that same skirt and it's such a great fit and quality for the amazing price.
I love fuchsia and maroon together! I'm planning on bringing over my summer brights and pairing them with fall colors. I got a yellow blazer this summer that I can't wait to wear with dark purple cords (except I have to find the cords first – working on that!).
That color combo is the perfect fall transition!
This is the perfect way to wear it! I may so have to copy this outfit 🙂
Your outfit is perfection! I love the color combo, necklace, belt…everything! 🙂

i want to marry your wardrobe…seriously, you are such fantastic inspiration!!!
Great outfit. I give you major props for wearing heels as much as you do. I alternate flats and heels every other day but flats aren't as fun. Do you have any tips for styling flats?
Also, I can relate to the smokey eye thing. Eyeshadow really does nothing for me since my eyes are so deep. Anyways you look great as always.
Are you kidding me with the comments about how you look different and how you should cut your hair three inches? Good grief!! You are gorgeous, lady! Anyway, love this look. I think neon pink is easier to transition than other bright colors and I like the way you paired it with burgundy!
@Meg- I am seriously having a hard time understanding how I could possibly look that different. It's not like I've gained or lost a significant amount of weight..,my makeup is the same, my hair is slightly darker and my eyebrows are slightly more spaced apart. Haha. Oh well 🙂
I think you look beautiful as always! –and simple makeup is perfectly fine, especially for the workplace!
