If you follow me on Facebook, you know that my computer is on the fritz. Like majorly won’t-even-start/in constant-system-restore-mode fritz. My Dell also got the blue screen of death, but it’s like 7 years old so I can forgive that. I am taking my VAIO to the Microsoft store this weekend to at least try and recover some data.
Thankfully, I have H’s old HP laptop to keep me blogging until I find a longer term solution. Many people have told me to just get a Macbook and I am considering it since I use my laptop for: blogging, photos, video, internet surfing and watching workout DVDs. Please leave me a comment if you have any suggestions!
Now to the outfit—every time I wear this lacy top from Gilly Hicks, I remember how much I love it. It’s one of those pieces that I’d love to have in my closet for the long term.

I had to use Photoshop today and I have to say I am missing Windows Live Gallery *sadface* It had all of these pre-set photo editing tools for color and exposure and it was SO quick and easy…don’t get me wrong, Photoshop is great…but I don’t edit my photos enough to need such a high level program. *Sigh* Until next time… 🙂
No snark (I promise!) but –
every single one of your 5 colored photos and 1 tonal photo show the exact same thing…you just have your arm in a different spot, bag in the other hand, looking away instead of head on… Maybe some different shots (I know – sometimes you turn to the side) or if they aren't available, I just don't think that many photos of the same thing is necessary (this is recurring, not only this post, I have noticed for a while). They don't actually bother me, I just figure it'd be less work for you when there is no need for so many of the same photos.
Love your blog and style though! Long-time reader 🙂
Love the top!

I LOVE this outift!!! Neutrals really suit you! Looks very pretty!
the working out is paying off.. you look definitely more toned … CONGRATS :)!
Hey,
Wanted to let you know, I have a MacBook (2006) and even though a couple things have gone wrong with it, it stills works. Last year in fall, my hard drive completely stopped working and even though it was past the 2 year warranty, the mac store still replaced it… for free. It's more expensive but well worth it!
I love that top, it's SO pretty!
My laptop is on the fritz too- I got the blue screen of death last night but it surprisingly turned back on. I know it's a ticking timebomb though now. I'm thinking of going with a Mac mini or just springing for the iMac (which my H has and it's amazing).
I see what they're saying about the Macbook however if you want to stick with Windows or don't want to put down the $$$ on a Mac lenovo's are pretty darn hardy and resistant. Probably the only Window's computer I'd use and put next to Mac for what you're doing.
Beautiful lace!
Love those shoes. Yes, yes, YES, get a Mac. I will never use anything else now. Of course, they are usually pricier, but it's an investment and you will be super happy with it. Have a great day!
Love the outfit! Perfect for the summer heat and still very put together.
I got a Mac in December when my HP computer crashed and I will never look back. I absolutely love it although it did take some time getting used to.
That top is SO gorgeous! My PC is on it's way out, might need a new one soon.
Creamy
LOVE this outfit!!!
There are some automatic photo tools in Photoshop. Go to Image in the top navigation (next to Edit) and there are some auto features like 'auto tone,' 'auto contrast' and 'auto color.'
There are also some tools under Image->Adjustments that are pretty easy to use. Just play around, I usually use 'levels' and 'vibrance' when editing my photos:)
Yes, get a Macbook! I have a Macbook Pro and love it. You actually get a lot of bang for your buck, plus you don't deal with viruses, the computer freezing, etc. I use PCs at work and get so frustrated with things they can't do that my Mac can. 🙂
Beautiful outfit! Bummer about the laptop issues. We bought a MacBook Pro almost 2 years ago and it's been the best purchase ever. Once you go Mac, you'll never go back!
Ugh. Computer issues are the worst. I am a MAC lover and agree that, although it takes a tiny bit of getting used to, its been such a great switch for me. My computer literally never crashes and I just find its great for blogging purposes (images, editing, video, etc.) They cost more, but I suppose there is a good reason why 🙂
And I LOVE this lace top. I remember a few outfits you pulled together when you first bought it a while ago. Such a versatile piece!

I had my Dell for the same time when it finally died! I panicked because I didn't know how long it would take to get a new one. Luckily, my fiance came to the rescue and surprised me 😉 I'm so bad with technology, I had no clue what to do! I hope the problem gets fixed, or you can at least recover some data.
PS – I love white and cream/beige together. Beautiful!
I'm loving the whites, so gorgeous for summer.
I have a MacBook pro and been using it for 1.5 years now. I just love mine. I find MAC's so convenient to take around and loving that it won't be infected with viruses. I also love the picture quality on my screen.
I use mine mostly for blogging, emails, Skype and checking message boards. It's also soooo much easier to synch my iPhone with the Mac ofcourse.
I absolutely adore that top! Wish I would have bought it when you originally posted about it (it's been a while 🙂
You look fab V!
Well, I went from a Vaio [my 2nd] to a MacBook Pro because I just didn't want to do the research it took to find a good, reliable PC. With that said I bought the 13in i7 with 8gb, and within the first month, the hard drive crashed and they had to replace it. Then the next month more problems and I had to have the memory replaced. Luckily they did it at not cost to me, but I was so frustrated that I was without my computer [which I need for my job and grad school] and the Macs are supposed to be so much more reliable, which sometimes that just isn't the case. I've had it now for almost four months and like it – but don't think it's the best think evauh.
Great outfit! Love the white top, I'm always so scared that I'll drop food down a white top that i don't wear them!
I hope that you get your laptop sorted soon xx
I really like the top, it's so cute!!! I would have paired it with something with more color, but that's just me =D

LOVE your top!!! It's gorgeous!
Definitely get a Macbook…I did finally last summer, and I haven't looked back!
Like others here, I also really like that top. Such a great white for summer! I have two lace-y tops, but they are both off-white.

Get a Mac. You won't regret it.
those shoes are so versatile. i just my look alike version in from aldo.
and yes, go mac. so much easier to sync if you are an iphone/ipad user.
Agree with elizabethashleyphotos. Maybe do close ups of your jewelry/accessories , side shot or back of your outfit. Love the top n go with Mac !
Cece
I agree with elizabethashleyphotos . Maybe a side shot or back of your outfit, close ups of your accessories too, please.
Love the outfit n your bag Ofcourse !!
Love the lacy top! I also just switched over to a Mac Air last month and I love it so much. If you have an iPhone/ipad/ipod they'll all synch up with your Mac book or Air with their new operating system. Meaning if you take a pic on your iphone, it'll be on your Macbook, you can even "text" your friends from your Mac. It has so much potential and very user friendly. You'll love it. As for photo editing, iphoto is great but PicMonkey is free and easy to use.
LOVE this look! The white with camel color is so pretty!!!
I love the lace blouse, Veronika – it's so pretty and light! 😉
I'm in IT so of course I had to weigh in on the computer question. 🙂 In my opinion there are only 2 reasons to get a Mac – 1, you're doing some heavy duty processing, like CAD or detailed video editing on large files, or 2, you have money to spend, haha. You can get a machine that does the exact same thing as a Macbook, for the general user anyway, for a significantly better price. Honestly, the bottom line Mac vs PC is that Mac is more money for more processing power. The question you have to ask yourself is – do you really need it?
I also know another big argument is the virus aspect – however, Macs are not completely immune and running a good Antivirus on a PC will save you the headache of a virus the majority of the time (my desktop PC is 8 years old and has never had a virus).
In the end – either computer – the web is the web, email is email, and dvd players are dvd players. Good luck and enjoy whichever one you choose!!
LOVE this. I am such a fan on neutral on neutral.
P.S thank you so much for the tip about the word verification, I had no idea I could change that! Such an amateur blogger – haha. Any other tips and tricks are welcome! I am so not tech savy, so I need all the help I can get! Thanks again 🙂
I switched from dell to mac 2 years ago, and will never ever go back.
Wow, that black and white pic is my favorite of you ever! Maybe it's because I always wear black and white, and you're usually adorned in colour 🙂
Unless you need a PC for work purposes, go for a Mac. They're great every-day, user-friendly computers. I've had my MacBook for 4.5 years now and I've had not one virus or scare.
Cheers from London!
