Good morning! I’m up bright and early with the painters completeing the painting on our stairways and accent wall in the living room!
By the way, we went with Benjamin Moore’s “Revere Pewter” for our main living spaces and stairwells. I’m really happy with how it turned out—a very soft, light, subtle gray with no blue, purple or green undertones. We are going to do all of the rooms and bathrooms in darker, richer shades of gray so we stay in the family of grays but with a little more drama. The challenge with open-concept living spaces is that a lot of walls connect, so if your main living space is one large room like ours, you have to pick a color that works well with that entire space.
I’ll post some better photos when painting is complete.
I thought I’d share some fitting room photos since it’s been requested that I put them on my blog more as opposed to just my Facebook page (I tend to share photos and other links there that I don’t put on my blog, so if you’re interested in that kind of stuff, you can “like” my page here.)
I filmed a haul video on these items yesterday, so I’m including shots of some of the stuff I bought over the last couple of weeks.
By the way, I had some requests to share my more casual outfit iPhone snaps on my blog, too, so here’s what I wore on Friday:

This was a navy pencil skirt with a pink silk blouse (I liked this one but I didn’t get it because I wanted to get my H two pairs of pants and could only get five items total at 50% off,
sometimes we have to sacrifice for our loved ones—LOL, I’m totally kidding!)
These are the Sloane ankle pants in black that I purchased
I need them in more.colors.now.
I also realized I didn’t post some photos from a shopping trip
a few weeks ago so I’m adding those as well!
These are the Presley Skye dresses from Nordstrom
the bottom is actually a different color which is not apparent in the photo.
The jeggings above are the Target ones that have gotten a lot of buzz.
I passed on them, but they are okay. Size way up on these.

I love the blazer and the pink silk top. Can't wait to see more photos of the paint! You photo quality seems to be really fuzzy lately. Are you shooting in auto, is your auto focus on?
these are just iPhone photos so I'm shooting them with no flash—but yes, on my camera my photos have been grainy so some of my readers taught me how to change my ISO 🙂

Ditto on the Target skinnies…they look great on the rack, but once I tried them on, they just didn't fit me right. I agree that sizing way up on them is key – talk about making me feel huge when I tried on my normal size! (Of course, I'm still losing the baby weight from having my son 2 months ago 🙂

I LOVE those Sloane pants on you, they look great! My legs are too short for cropped pants, they just don't look right on me. And I've been obsessed with colored denim lately myself! Love those jade green jeans…I just bought a pair of bright kelly green colored legging jeans at Gap for myself and can't wait to wear them! I've also purchased a bright purple pair that I randomly found at Kohl's (a store I rarely shop at, but I was buying off someone's registry, and there they were and they looked really cute on!) and a pair of dark orange/brown ones.
I tried on the jeggings from Target too….I was SO disappointed in the fit overall. I had to size up 2 sizes to even get them on, and then the way they fit me was just unflattering on every level.
Great finds! I love both pants and the blazer…it really is so flattering!

I have the BR pink blouse as well as the white one. Love them. I may have to try the ankle Sloane pants, I already have the Sloane slacks and they fit really well.

BTW, how is the fit on ZARA pants? I normally wear a size 0-2, but due to my larger than normal calves, I have issues with the fit being too tight in that area…
I got the pants in a 6…I find Zara's sizing to be smaller than American brands.
I especially love the creme blouse you picked up! and you're right those target jeggings are WAY too small!

About the painting… We are thinking of hiring someone to paint our living room as well. I've tried to google average prices for our area with no luck. May I ask what you are paying or a ballpark figure? Thanks so much.
amy—you can call local companies and ask based on square footage, googling won't help much because the quotes are so customized so it's best to reach ot to actual companies in your area to give you a quote. What we paid will differ so much because we are paying a rate for our entire house to be painted not just one room so I have no idea how it would break down for just the one room. Wish I could be of more help!
