As I mentioned in my last post, I’ve been skipping outfit photos because I’m figuring out the best route to take to my new job and trying to figure out what time I need to be leaving every morning.
I woke up a little earlier this morning and was finally able to squeeze in some outfit photos!
Speaking of which, I’ve been getting a lot of questions about the dress code at my new job. Technically, it’s “business casual” but in our department, we veere more on the business side of that since we deal with the media on a regular basis and we all want to look as professional as possible.
I always dressed up more at my previous job, so it’s great that I’ll be able to wear the same clothes I already have. Something I’d really like to add more of to my wardrobe are blazers—different colors, prints, etc. It’s a nice way to polish-up your outfit without being too fussy.
Here is what I wore to my new job, day three:
Skirt- J.Crew No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Double Serge Wool
Necklace- https://www.reginapierallini.com/
Shoes- Kate Spade
Blazer- Express

Veronika.
I've been loing that mint color, and it looks amazing with that handbag. I think you look super professional here, yet you still show such personality! Inspiring outfit post;)

So pretty! I have the same top, so this is great inspiration on how to wear it. 🙂
I didn't know the Hillier came in that bright pink! I have it in black but I love it in the bright fun colour. I agree that blazers are a great way to spice up work attire… I've been contemplating a cool floral print one myself.

I love that shirt! Too bad Gap doesn't fit me. Damn sizing!
This outfit is so cute!
I love the color! The mint and pink is beautiful together. The top is super cute too! 🙂
Love your skirt! We are business casual too, but since I have meetings nearly everyday, I lean more toward business. I would love to incorporate a little color!
PS – Ulta is in the middle of their buy 2, get 1 free on hair. I loaded up on Redken today. Plus they have a coupon on their site too!
Great skirt! Blazers are great because you can mix and match them with pretty much every item in your closet.
I love this outfit! I've been looking for more outfits to wear to work and this is perfect!
That skirt is gorgeous! I think you look wonderful in pencil shapes. It's nice that you already have the wardrobe for your new job…a huge plus!
Congrats again on your new job! Our office is also business casual, but I feel like most of the girls dress too casual. I always feel so dressed up next to them and I dress similar to you for work. I always felt that it's better to be overdressed than underdressed.
Great outfit! Love those J Crew pencil skirts!
great outfilt! I love reading your blog and all the beauty tips! I bought the mabelline age rewind brightener after your recommendation and LOVE it! Posted about it on my blog!
Congrats on your new job (since I miss ur last post). I love the spring theme I see in your outfit with the green, pink and polka dots 🙂
I also love how often you rock a blazer, it really brings your outfits together. I wish I had more luck with them. The combination of my narrow shoulders and big chest always make it a struggle for me to find the ones that fit right
Darling and congrats on the new job!
I love the pop of colour! I just bought a bright orange bag!
Love the outfit! I have the same blouse from Gap. It's one of my favorite pieces!
I really love the green skirt!
I love that skirt! and I want that bag badly!
thank you so much for your comments everyone! ever since I started my new job I feel reinvigorated to dress cute!
I usually love your style, but I don't love this. I think you can be so much more creative with a mint green skirt. Some color on top, and I think nude or white stockings would work with this skirt much better. I still love your girl!
What's your review of the Marc Jacobs bag? I've been considering it…
I clicked on the necklace link and it's no longer for sale (or at least it's not listed) 🙁
The skirt is a great color — very nice professional/chic outfit.
Pop of color, the skirt stands out so much more. Love it and it has me yearning to pick up some more skirts from JCrew. Their pencil skirts are the best!

Now that you have a new job and are making more money, could you PLEASE by another pair of black shoes? I love the outfits but wearing the same pair of shoes all the time is soooo boring!
I respectfully disagree 🙂 I think a staple piece like black pumps that you've invested in are for exactly that – wearing ALL the time! Sure it's nice to spice it up now and then but in a business/business casual setting, black pumps are usually the way to go!
Love love love your style! Nice skirt 🙂
Gorgeous outfit, love the skirt and the pop of pink 🙂
Absolutely love the colours in this outfit! So spring-appropriate 🙂 And I just want to put it out there that I LOVE those shoes… 😉 <3 xo
WOW, I absolutely love that outfit!
Love the teal and pink together, V! Hope the new job is going well!
Graet outfit, I love the color of your skirt and you bag is so pretty!
I love this look!
I like blazers for work too, I highly recommend the Silence and Noise Boyfriend Blazer from Urban – it dresses up well but is also great worn casual. H&M has a decent selection this season too for $49 each (I got one in hot pink!) 🙂
V, This may surprise you, but I've always been able to find some trendy and classic, well constructed blazers at H&M. The color selection is always fun – pinks, turquoise…and even basics like black, navy and khaki! xo, tasha
I love this pairing, and the pink bag is such a perfect touch. I've had some luck at Nordstrom BP and Zara for cute, affordable colored blazers.
Something about pink and green in any way just kind of works! I love the subtle details of this ensemble.
Veronika, is the longer strap on that MJ bag long enough to be cross-body? I need a bag to use for travel over multiple weeks to Europe starting next week (winter/spring) and into this summer that is big enough for all my crap, cute enough for all seasons, and can be worn cross body. Having a hard time! Everytime you show your MJ bag I want to run out and get it, but not sure it fits my needs…
– Erin Leigh
Erin- yes it's long enough towear cross body. If you're shorter than me it will be even longer as a cross body bag!
I like how you had the outfit simple, but added two pops of color to make the clothes more bright and less boring. Love the necklace and the belt too (:
