When I posted photos on my Facebook page of a hairstyle I created last weekend for a gala I attended, many asked how I did it. The truth is, I have no idea.
I didn’t have a lot of time to get ready and I was on third day hair that I had curled and doused with hairspray (and dry shampoo) earlier that morning so my options were limited.
I took one of those skinny tooth combs and started to tease my hair in sections at the crown of my head. Then, I started to pin pieces back to make a bouffant-type thing…with absolutely no strategy whatsoever. I just pinned hair in the back wherever it took to make it look good from the front.
Then I left the front pieces down and curled. Here is how it looked:
Belt- J.Crew
Shoes- Kate Spade
Bracelet- ASOS
Here are a few fun photos from the event…I think you can tell what the theme was!
and here is close-up shot of my makeup that night:
xoxo,
Veronika.

I wish I had longer hair so that I could do that pretty curl look! I love the dress!
You managed to get so much volume in your hair – jealous! Looks like the party was super fun. I love the theme 🙂

How did it feel to have lashes with jewelry? Was it noticeable for you, annoying, or no difference? You looked great!
G.
It was cute and people commented on the lashes the entire night! they didn't feel much different from regular fake lashes!
Hey Veronika, love your blog. I have to ask, cause I'm also in Houston, is this the same charity event that was in today's Hoiston Chronicle with the giant 8 foot disco ball and raised an insane amount of money for Texas Children's Cancer Center? If so, I cannot imagine how amazing it was to attend!!
yes it was! $32.2 million! Incredible 🙂
You look GREAT! I wish I had even half the hair you have–I used to love wearing it half-up in little bouffants up when I had more (real) hair to work with. Just some teasing, back combing, bobby-pins, hairspray, done. Jealous!
And what a cool event! I think you must have one of the funnest jobs *ever*.
Thanks Chloe 🙂 That bouffant was real fun to brush out this morning…especially after sleeping with the bobby pins in it…LOL 🙂
The bottom of that dress is so fab. Love the fake eyelashes too.

Love the look, heard a lot about that gala! How cool to go! Two questions, what brand eyelashes did you use and what is your nail polish color?
the lashes were from Nordstrom rack—I can't remember the brand but you will see them there near the checkout area.
The nails are essie ballet slippers (3 coats) with OPI's "crown me already" on my ring fingers only ("sparkle nail")
I love your makeup here! Revlon's "Cupcake" lip butter looks perfect on you!
You look fab! Love the hair and makeup! Stunning! xo
Snooki pouf! Adorable dress, though!
