The first time I ever really heard of Kiehl’s was when I visited the flagship store at Highland Village here in Houston. I wasn’t familiar with the product line at all and I just kind of browsed around and left with one of their lip glosses (pear flavor) and their Avocado Eye Cream which was so highly recommended in the beauty blogging and YouTube community.
Since then, I’ve really come to love Kiehl’s products and I’m absolutely obsessed with a few of them. One of them has even changed how I think about moisturizers.
I’ll start with the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye. Having loved their Avocado eye cream, I was eager to try this one which promises to reduce fine lines, dark circles and puffiness (yes please!) Here’s the product description:
Kiehl’s very first repairing overnight eye product, and is paraben-free, sulfate-free, fragrance-free and mineral-oil free.Midnight Recovery Eye combines the unique blend of active essential and botanical oils found in Midnight Recovery concentrate—Squalane, Evening Primrose and Lavender—as well as a new ingredient, Butcher’s Broom, a rare herb that’s known to improve blood circulation, and has been specifically added to strengthen the fragile capillary walls and reduce puffiness under the eyes.
I’ve been using Midnight Recovery Eye for the past few weeks and I love it. I feel it really moisturizes your skin, it stays put on your eye and it makes the area feel soft and supple when you wake up in the morning. I also think my eye area has been looking very smooth lately (I can’t say the same for my forehead, but that’s another story).
Next up on my LOVE list is Kiehl’s Creme de Corps Lightweight Body Lotion SPF 30. Audrina Patridge recommended this to me during our interview a few weeks ago and after seeing her awesome skin, I raced to the store that weekend to buy my own bottle. I wasn’t sure how I’d like it because I am NOT a lotion person. At all. I hate the feeling of lotion on my skin. It always made me feel dirty and greasy. Beauty confession time here: I have not regularly moisturized my skin for my entire life until now.
Some people slather their hands and bodies in lotion…but until now, I was never able to do that. The Creme de Corps lightweight is different. It smells amazing (like, I wish they made a perfume of that scent) and it feels incredibly lightweight and totally not greasy. I apply it and my skin feels soft and supple, not greasy and sticky.
I am so thrilled I got this lotion because as I get older, it’s so important for me to moisturize to keep my skin looking its best. Skin, after all, is the body’s largest organ. I also got a sample of the Lightweight Whipped Body Butter and I now plan to purchase a tub of that. I was worried the body butter version would be too greasy for me, but it is not at all. It is wonderful just like the lightweight lotion.
I’ve been raving about Kiehl’s “French Rose” lipgloss in my last few videos, but I am here to sing its praises again. In fact, last Friday after work, I stopped at the store just to pick up another one for my purse. I like to keep one in my bathroom and one in my purse so I can access it AT ALL TIMES. LOL. Something so unique about this gloss is the formula itself. It feels very moisturizing but it is not at all too thick or sticky. It also gives your lips a beautiful glow like nothing else I’ve tried. I have not used the other colors, but “French Rose” give lips a beautiful light pink sheen. Bonus: it tastes amazing. Like I want to eat it (but no worries, I don’t, somehow, I find it within myself to resist.)
If you’ve watched my videos lately, this is the gloss I am wearing in the most recent ones. They retail for $14.50 which I think is fair considering how great the product is on every level. It makes me want to kick myself for paying $30 for a Dior lipstick I hardly ever use.
The final product I want to share with you is Kiehl’s styling Creme with Silk Groom. As you know, my hair is crazy dry and damaged right now because I am desperately waiting for my November hair appointment. This product has really infused some much-needed moisture into my hair before I blow dry. Just a little bit is all you need—I apply it to damp hair from the nape of my neck down, focusing on my ends and then blow dry. I have not purchased a full size bottle of this yet because I got so many samples that they have been lasting me awhile.
Before closing, I have to give a huge shout-out to the employees at my local Kiehl’s store. They are so friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about the products. I love coming into the store because the customer service is so above and beyond what you expect. I also love that Kiehl’s gives such great sample sizes. It’s nice to be able to try a product before you commit. Because of the samples I’ve gotten, I know they will receive additional business from me because they’ve taken the time to introduce me to new products.
Thanks for reading and please let me know if you have any other questions about the products!
xoxo,
Veronika.

Veronika, do you still use 1/2 pad of the philosophy round skin-pads? I forget what they are called–you said you cut it in half and apply it to your face at night. You reminded me when you said that your forehead isn't smooth–wondering if you still rec this product?
anon—I have not used them recently but I plan to start using them again—i explain it in my video, towards the end. i do recommend it. I think I'll always have fine lines on my forehead because I tend to wrinkle it a lot when I talk!
i went out and bought the maybelline age rewind eraser for dark circles after reading your review, and i love it! thanks for reviewing that. i wasn't wearing anything for awhile because i didn't want to spend too much on an eye product. i'm so happy with the results and the price. i never would have thought to put a pink toned product on, but it looks great.
@mybeadifullife—i'm so glad you love it!
Great reviews! I know you love the creamy eye treatment as much as I do, and I think you were the one who recommended it to me!
Thank you for these reviews! I have been wondering about Kiehl's products for awhile. I'm pregnant and my skin changed from oily to super dry and I can't wait to try the eye cream – it sounds just what my tired eyes need!
@amanda—hope you love it as much as I do! lots of natural ingredients too 🙂
I am going to second the above commenter- I bought the Maybelline age rewind eraser and absolutely love it. I also got the Ole Henriksen eye treatment you mentioned and it is wonderful as well. I will have to try Kiehl's next! Love the product reviews!!
Hi! Your pendant necklace in your video is pretty!:) where did you get those? Thank you!:)
@anon–it was a gift from my husband for our anniversary: https://www.overstock.com/Jewelry-Watches/14k-Gold-Overlay-Diamond-Accent-Initial-V-Necklace/5699069/product.html
Where did you get the cute white and gray floral tray?
I will need to try the Midnight Recovery Eye cream. I am still searching for the perfect eye cream and can use any help I can get. Thanks for the recommendation! I do love Kiehl's lotion.
the glass printed tray is from west elm
These are all on my to-be-purchased list, thanks for the reviews!
I love the videos! Could you maybe do a list of everything with the videos? I am frantically writing it all down, but sometimes I feel like I missed something.
shaina—click the arrow on the downbar in the video—I post links to all products I mention in the downbar on YouTube. You have to click to watch the video on YouTube and the list is there 🙂 hope this helps!
Thanks so much for the reviews! I really want to try that eye cream and lip gloss!
I'm using the Clinique 3-step skincare routine and untill now am pretty happy about it. And once a week i deep clean with the Olay advanced cleaning gadget. It's comparable to the Clairsonic, but for only $27! And it is really really worth it.
For eye cream I have wanted to try the Kiehl's one, but I'll first empty my About the eyes from Clinique, which I'm pretty happy about.
yay – i love kiehls products. i'm like you – i do not like feeling greasy or coated in lotion. however, i do love the creme de corps in the winter months. thinking of picking up the lighter version for days when i don't need as much hydration. thanks for the reviews!
btw – your photos are looking really great lately!!
Where are the turquoise and gold earrings from? I love them!

I just saw your eye makeup video on YT. Loved it, thanks so much for doing it for us! It really is soooo simple with such a huge impact. It really helped to see how easy it is and how we can all perfect that kind of look with just a minimal amount of practice. Thanks again!
Great post!! Kiehl's is finally opening up in my city so I can't wait to check out all the goodies you talked about.
On an unrelated noted: I know from your earlier posts that you have Bethenney Frankel's book. I just got her SkinnyGirl yoga dvd and it's excellent – a very effective 40 minute workout. Just thought I'd pass along that tip in case you enjoy yoga.
Thanks for blogging! Love all your posts!!
you're gorgeous! xoxo
Hi, I've been following your blog for a while now, and today when you mentioned how your sensitive your skin is, I wanted to say hello and tell you, you're certainly not alone and thank you for being so brave. I had eczema growing up that became worse so I suppress it with steroids, but I know how self conscious it can be. Thank you for sharing all of your insight on beauty, home, fashion and just being a woman.
i bought target's eye makeup remover. that stuff is really good!
i also tried your eye makeup routine this morning for work with similar products that i have. it was so simple, but yet i feel like i look so polished and bright!
now i just have to pick up the maybelline instant rewind. I have a concealer that I use from Exuviance, and its really good. but i also have dark circles under my eyes. so i need something pretty heavy. but i wonder if i can layer the two…
I am going to be by a Kiehl's store this weekend. I would love to try the body lotion and the eye cream! So far I have adored all the samples I got last time.. Love this review!! 🙂 xoxo
Hello Veronika! Love your post! Quick question about how you use the Le Roche Posay Targeted Breakout Correcter – after you apply to cleansed skin, do you follow up with moisturizer (i.e. specifically at bedtime) over the topical or not?
Thanks!!
