This could be your neighbor’s child, your brother or sister’s child, your best friend’s child—or your own child. I’m helping to spread the word about Audric’s story because as you know, transplants and medical treatment are very expensive. Audric’s care needs are currently estimated at $50,000 (I know, that’s a lot.)
I hate to say something so cliche, but really, ever dollar makes a difference. If you have a dollar (or five, or 10 or 20) to spare for this little boy, please consider donating to the special fund that has been set up for Audric through the Children’s Organ Transplant Association.
If you can’t donate at this time, please pray for this family and pray that little Audric will have no additional issues with his new liver.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read this, it is really appreciated by me and I know the family appreciates all of the love and support they’ve received during this difficult time.
xoxo,
Veronika.
This is a little spooky for me to read, because one of my best friends baby girl is now 2 weeks out from her Kasai procedure for the same reason. We're still in a holding pattern to see how well the procedure took. I know how unexpected and heartbreaking it was for my friend to hear the news when they took baby Faith in for her 2 month appointment. Will definitely be praying for Audric and his family!
Just did – thank you for sharing! 🙂
thank you so much Carrie and Samurai for your support 🙂
I am so sorry to hear that this sweet little boy and his family have been dealing with such a scary situation. I am so happy that he was able to get a transplant so soon. Sending lots of love his way and I donated as well 🙂
thanks so much Andi 🙂 I also made a donation—it's nice to know how the funds will directly impact a family.
I will definitely make a donation, I know first hand how expensive this kind of extended hospitalization and surgery costs. My mom received a liver transplant 2.5 years ago but unfortunately died after complications a few weeks later.
It's amazing he was able to receive a transplant so quickly!
It's so sweet of you to blog about this V and bring our attention to this. WHat a struggle this family is facing 🙁
I have made a donation, thanks again for posting this – you have made a difference already!!
What a sweet little boy. It touched my heart to read this. You are kind to write about this Veronika. I will pray for little Audric and his family and I'm on my way to make a donation.
Veronika- thank you so much for sharing this. I'm a longtime follower of your blog and can especially relate to this family as we just finished a 28 day stint in the hospital with our newborn who got meningitis and had heart failure from a random virus. The whole time we were there I was trying to think of a way to help others in the same situation and this is the perfect opportunity!
Veronika – How much are you donating? It seems like you could spend a lot less in vain things like make up and clothing this month and make a significant donation
@anon- I am not going to discuss how much I donated and I don't think it is appropriate to suggest to anyone how much they should donate to any cause. My husband and I support organizations we are passionate about and I also donate my time to charitable endeavors when those opportunities arise.
Anon- Why do you care how much she is donating? She can spend as much as she wants on herself and it's not your right to judge her for it.
Thanks Jalila 🙂 It's just frustrating because I am just trying to support a family in need by showcasing their story in hopes that people will open their hearts (and wallets). $1 is a wonderful donation and so is any amount above and beyond that. All donations are meaningful. How much we donate is personal.
anon, two things of note:
1.you are a dipshit
2.get over yourself
I appreciate posts like this because it makes us all reflect on what truly matters in this world. Audric is such a handsome lil' man and my heart goes out to him and his family. My husband and I will be making a donation.
XO – Marion
PS – It's weird to me how someone can read this story and the first thing that comes to their mind is a negative comment (Anon). That is just sad.
Marion—thanks so much for your comment 🙂 I agree! I guess someone is not busy enough at work if they have time to post such rude comments!
I'm so appalled and disgusted by the American health care system!!! His transplant and care would have been free in my country (Norway). It is just not right that you have to pay for health care! Gaah! It makes me so sad!!
Of course my heart and prayers go out to him and his family. Sending them lots of love <3. Thank you for sharing Veronika.
