We’ve been so busy and have a lot going on at work so we’ve been skipping workouts. I haven’t even had the motivation to do my Ballet Beautiful DVD. I’m sorry to all of the people who have been waiting for a review. I have watched the DVD, I just haven’t actually done it yet (I always preview it first so I know what to expect from the workout). H and I are trying to get back on track this week—but Houston’s insane mosquitoes have put a damper on our plans—they are EVERYWHERE, it’s madness!
Our house is a mess
It’s clean, but very disorganized. I honestly just started throwing stuff away because I realized how much crap we brought over from our old house. I am a very impatient person, so for now, I have to be thrilled that our second floor is pretty and I have to be patient and wait to decorate our guest room and office. Good things come with time, right? To be honest, I’m not even sure what I want for these rooms…so I just want to wait it out until I feel inspired and just take it room by room. There’s no need to rush and I need to remind myself of that.
Pretty Sparkly Awesomeness
I finally bought this chandelier to put over our kitchen island. Thanks to one of my wonderful readers who alerted me that it was even more on sale than before! Apparently, it takes 6 hours to put this thing together. Sounds like a fun weekend project to me! (Kidding, obviously. It sounds positively horrific to attach each crystal individually. I pray the instructions are more detailed than when you buy stuff at IKEA or H will flip out.)
New bedding
I may be a little obsessed with bedding. I just love the way it freshens up a room and makes everything feel pretty. I went to ZGallerie and when I saw this bedding, I fell in love. I also am a little obsessed with purple…
I am waiting for ZGallerie to have a sale before I bite the bullet. I hope the sale comes soon!
I’m also obessed with Butter London’s “Teddy Girl” nail polish. I know I raved about it in my “Favorite Pink Things” video, but I just had to rave about it again.
Petite Sweets
Oh you know, it’s just me, hanging out in my
That’s all for today, more updates to come this week!
xoxo,
Veronika.
I think you'll really love Ballet Beautiful when you get around to it. I absolutely LOVE it and have had fantastic results. She just released two streaming videos today as a cardio compliment. We have moved several times so I understand stuff being a little less organized than you would like. Good luck with it and thanks for the update! Love your youtube videos, so excited for the next one : )
Angelina
thanks angelina—now I am more excited to try it out! the video looks great from what I saw 🙂
I haven't been working out because of the mosquitoes!! LOL LOL best excuse ever.
Love that chandelier! Don't stress about having the house perfect in such a short amount of time! My favorite rooms in my own home have taken the longest to "perfect" (and yet I still feel like they're never done!). I think a room looks best when it's built over time rather than in one weekend:)
GL and happy organizing and decorating!
@anon—i haven't been working out because life and work has kept us busy–but our gym is in a warehouse with no A/C and open doors so we get bitten a lot—this weekend though, the mosquitoes are all over the place…more than there ever have been all summer so staying indoors is key right now!
thanks Rachel, your comment made me feel better 🙂 I really needed to hear that because I tend to want everything done all at once.
Hey Veronika! Okay, absolutely LOVE that bedding! I may need it too! I've fallen off the workout wagon as well and am trying desperately to get motivated. I actually really liked doing the Elle cardiobody DVD. I've only done the 30 minute one but I find in that short time I get an awesome workout! The chandelier really is a stunning piece! You'll have to let use readers know how it goes when assembling.

I totally think you need to post pictures of the rooms you're unsure about… then WE can all make suggestions for them!
I have to admit, I too sniggered about the mossies comment… best excuse!
Meh, it's hardly bikini season – don't beat yourself up – you're allowed some time off working out!
@jazzy—thanks 🙂 I think I needed a break —i will get back to it when my body feels ready (and uh, when the mosquitoes stop attacking our city—seriously, they are sending trucks around spraying stuff).
you should check out the website salemarked.com. You can pin things you want and enter the price your willing to pay. Once it drops to your price you'll get an email.
laura—thanks so much for that tip 🙂
Once you do the workout, can you post a review? I have been looking at getting it, but have bad knees so cannot do squats/lunges or anything super high impact like that. I am not sure what types of movements the video has or if it would be worth it to buy if it has a lot of exercises that would aggravate my knees. Thanks!!!
one day, i'll be brave and send you a photo of how my house looks. it's been like a hoarders house for nearly a year because i started a new business and so i had tons of stuff everywhere. don't fret about a mess (but i do recommend organizing because it can drive a person mad without even realizing it). sometimes a mess can just mean that life is moving and going in good directions so better to spend time on life than cleaning yeah? btw, since you posted a pic of your new zgallerie bedding find … let me know what you think about these? https://fauxtreschic.blogspot.com/2011/10/diy-trellis-canvas-art.html i made them a little while ago. take it easy.

Too bad you're not in Atlanta, I'd tell you to check out my adult beginning ballet class on Tuesday nights! 😉
I can't wait to hear your review on the ballet video. I took dance when I was younger, including ballet and it was such a great workout.
You look fab in that car! And I love your chand – can't wait to see the whole decorated house.
I thought the mosquitos were only affecting our area! (In Friendswood) Everytime we go outside swarms of them literally follow us! My poor pups are getting bitten too! I really hope the cold front gets rid of them this week!
I love when blogger's do"random" type posts. Those sheets were really gorgeous. I've been looking for a pattern just like that. I think maybe you have some that look sort of similiar (maybe?) and got me hunting in the first place!
YES, cannot wait to see the chand!!! And you better post all about the assembly and tips for how to do it for those of us waiting to buy it!
I saw the Lamborghini and my first thought was "Green? Shouldn't it be hot pink?" 🙂
And I've been thinking about that bedding ever since I saw it on your twitter feed earlier today. Definitely a room-changer.

Hey girl! Well, don't feel bad about not working out. It's just not realistic to *always* be able to keep up a motivated, rigid workout schedule. Sometimes you just have to let it go for a little while and learn not to feel guilty about it – which is always easier said then done. I haven't worked out regularly in over a month. I do what I can 2 or 3 times a week, like a quick walk or read a book for 30 min on the elliptical, since that's all I can muster up the motivation for right now. We, too, have been super busy and by the time the day is done I'm exhausted. No one is perfect and that's ok!!
And I feel you about the house. It always bugs me to not have things look all cleaned up or "done." My office is super messier and it's starting to affect my concentration, so I'm hoping I at least have the time to clean it up soon! So lots of things I hope to get to as well, you are among friends. 🙂
Have a good week!!!
Just wanted to say I care about your posts and your life updates 😛
I adore your blog! Thank you for keeping us all updated! 🙂 Oh..and I LOVE that bedding! So cute!
I love random updates! It's good to put it all out there! 🙂 Love the bedding…totally your style and will look great in your new home. And I WANT those sweets!!! xo
Thanks for the fun post Veronika. You covered all the good stuff a girl needs to keep up with from pretty nail polish and bling to yummy eats and hot cars. Love the bedding and the chandelier for your kitchen. Yikes, about having to put it together piece by piece though. I hope it doesn't make you crazy! 🙂 You'll get through it all – moving is always stressful so don't be too hard on yourself.:)
Haha I live in Houston too. The mosquitoes should go away this weekend when it gets colder. Hopefully…at least. I had to run inside on the treadmill today which is never as nice as running outside. I will absolutely have to try those macaroons sometime.
That chandelier is gorgeous!!! I also love french macaroons, they are such a treat. My husband got me a box of 80 (the real ones from Paris!) for Christmas last year. I couldn't eat them all at once so I froze them and they taste just as great frozen and defrosted. Enjoy them!
I am totally in love with that bedding! I want it! Could you update us when/if it goes on sale? 🙂
very creative and interesting blog! follow each other?xoxo
Just have to say I love your blog! I recently started my own blog too. I love that bedding from Zgallerie! I have the same pattern in curtains, in the mimosa color. If you sign up for their email they should send you a 10% off coupon. I did that and bought my curtains!
And yes the Mosquitos here are awful. They were chasing my son and I last night as I ran with him in the jogging stroller!!
Ive never had a mint chocolate macaroon before and i spy one on the photo. Now all i can think of it them! :s LOVE macaroons.. love pistacio ones.. must be a green thing!
wow I loved that lamp is great, I also really like the set of sheets is fantastic. I think your idea of taking each room at a time to decorate is a great idea. Why get overwhelmed with everything at one time, you do not have to give to anyone, they can do when they want: D stay safe so much better, taking it easy all
I'm sure if Gucci can design a Fiat that there cold totally be a Chanel Lamborghini in the works. Dangit…now I'm going to have that JLo song stuck in my head.
I totally hear ya on the house stuff. I feel like our place is always in a state of disorganization – my husband is worse than a toddler sometimes just dropping his crap wherever. I'm like you – I just start pitching stuff.
Love the chandy and sheets – Zgallerie has some really great stuff right now.
Love that chandelier! Can't wait to hear your review of the Ballet Beautiful program.
Sorry, but I'd like to point out that the French confection you were referring to is called a macaron. There is a difference between a macaron and a macaroon: https://www.nadsbakery.com/2010/06/macrons-vs-macaroons.html
anon–thanks for the correction 🙂
It seems like I can't go into ZGallerie without finding something I like. Super cute bedding!
LOL at the IKEA reference…every time I bring something home from that store, my H cringes and scowls at me because of the worse-than-dirt directions that accompany any item. If only they weren't such cute, good steals!
Love the bedding!!!!! so pretty! I don't think my FI would go for it though, it's too feminine for him. 🙁
I love pink and Zen Green Tea from Starbucks. I also love all things beauty and interior decorating. Glad to have found your blog. I am a beauty blogger from NY. Come check me out sometime at https://emanticoff.blogspot.com. Chau for now.
I loooove that bedding! I have to convince husband that we *need* a chandelier in our house. Jealous you are putting one up!
have you done a post before on your favorite skin care products or skin care routine?
yes- you can use the search tool and it breakd down my entire routine and products : I am also making a video about it this weekend!(I hope!)
I LOVE that watch!
I absolutely love the items that you've picked for the house! The chandelier is amazing and the bedding is to die for. Our master bedroom is purple and greys so I LOVE it!
Hehe love your watch – same as mine 😉
