I made some progress on my office today and also cleaned up the guest bedroom and the entire second floor of our house so I’m hoping to get a surge of energy this evening to finish my cleaning. This house has a lot of cleaning that needs to be done every week. From the dark hardwood floors that show every little thing, to the stainless steel appliances, it is constant. Not complaining at all, I actually love to clean. I guess it’s just surprising that 600 more square feet can make such a difference. Now I have four toilets to clean!
Here is the room, empty:
Here are some photos of office ideas and inspirations that I’ve found over the last few years. I don’t remember where all of the photos are from, so if they are yours or you know where they came from, let me know so I can credit them accordingly:
Oh…I also did a little shopping this weekend. Got a lot of very cute stuff that I can’t wait to share! Will either post about it or do a video. Now that I have internet, the possibilities are limitless! Hope everyone had a lovely weekend!
Off to finally watch True Blood now…
Veronika.
Ah i love it!
Your home looks gorgeous! I can't wait to see more pics! I am loving that white ikea bookshelf! Can you link me the exact one?
@anon—I added the link to the post 🙂 https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/40047675
thank you!
I love the inspiration pics – I'm sure you'll have the office beautiful in no time!
V, I actually like the idea of a roomy office. Clutter-free and airy! Love it! 😉 xo, tasha
The office is coming along nice. I love that bookshelf!
I love your office! And I love your inspiration pictures (especially the first and second one)! Pinterest would be perfect for organizing those (I'm the one that inquired if you have a pinterest account on your formspring).
Anyway, can't wait to see the rest of the house and it's progression! And I know, wood floors are a major pain. I have to clean mine almost every day. They show every speck and drop of dirt.
For credits, that last photo of the blue & white space is by Mary McDonald. 🙂
thanks anon, I added it 🙂
I'm super jealous of how much light you have! I need that bookshelf.
thanks corinne 🙂 it's nice to have all that light but we definitely need to get some curtains! we are using temporary blinds in some rooms right now and it's working well and they actually don't look awful!
It looks great!!! I think pink would be an excellent choice.. I would say pale pink would be really pretty without it taking away from the room.. Love it so far!!!
I absolutely adore the second inspiration picture that you've posted, that is completely my dream work area. I must say that I also really like the IKEA shelving!
off to a very good start!
i love the desk in the middle of the room- like u said- why not??
excited to see your shopping haul!

LOL V- Wanna hear something hilarious? I have that lamp from WE AND just bought that same desk! AND…am re-doing my office and want the desk AWAY from the wall, so that I'm looking out into the room….I love the look and think yours looks awesome! keep it!
its looking great 😀 xox
I have the same Expedit bookcase, to the right of my desk where a credenza would go if I had one. My desk is also in the middle of the room and faces the front window so I can look over my screen outside. It does take up a lot of room, but I much prefer being able to look outside rather than facing a wall 9+hrs per day.
Also, my walls are painted RED, with lots of black and white framed art all over. I love it.
I love the office, especially the layout!
Question- where did you get the trays that you used to stage your bathroom?
@s and k—they are from West Elm—it's an "office supply" but I came up with another use for it! hehe 🙂
Photo 5 & 6 are designed by Avenue Interior Design for the Who What Wear offices. 🙂
thanks anon 🙂 I just added those credits! appreciate it 🙂
Looks great so far! Can't wait to see it all come together. I think the pink walls will be super cute!
I think you should add a chaise lounge in your office…someplace that you could sit and work while relaxing comfortably. I think it'd be cute as well!
I think all the white and clean lines in the space make it work. Good luck getting it all together.
Where is the desk from? I love it!
