“Another dry shampoo?” you ask. Yes ladies, unfortunately for us all, I think I have found the holy grail of dry shampoos.
Now, before I get into this, I want to say that I still LOVE the Suave dry shampoo and will continue to buy it. For under $3, you just can’t lose.
My mother in law bought me this Serge Normant dry shampoo for my birthday after she saw Julia Roberts talk about it on Oprah. If it works for Julia Roberts, it must be awesome, right? I must admit, I had some doubts since I was still in my total cloud of love for the Suave dry shampoo, but I gave it a go anyway.
- Out of all of the dry shampoos I’ve used, it makes my hair FEEL and SMELL the most clean
- The smell is awesome…very fresh and almost a little woodsy…hard to explain…must be the cedar bark
- Does not feel sticky or gummy AT ALL
- Restores volume easily
- Can be used several days in a row without build-up
- Hair can be restyled day after day even with this product in it
- Does not make my scalp feel dry
I plan to repurchase this when I run out of the bottle I received as a gift because I love it just that much! For those of you who recall, it’s the same dry shampoo I used during my trip to Austin. I used it for 3 days in a row until I was up to 5th day hair—and my hair looked pretty decent, considering (I was on vacation spending all day outside and on a boat, so there was no point in washing my hair.)
xoxo,
Veronika.
PS- read the Vanity Fair piece about the product, here.
thanks for the review!! i love reading all your beauty product reviews.
i really want to try this now. I think i'll use some of my textbook buyback $ to try it!
i also wanted to say that i also decided to purchase the hana professional blowdryer that you reviewed a while ago, after much debating, but the review that you posted really helped me make the decision!
Gosh, your hair looks absolutely incredible — I would never have guessed it was day 5 hair!! What an amazing product! I'm so jealous of your hair, always! 🙂 <3
I looooooove things that smell like cedar. This makes me want to go back and get that Oribe anti-humidity spray I tried a couple months ago; I just couldn't stomach $25/can at the time.
@mikaela— you will LOVE that hairdryer. It is just so powerful. I was at my in-law's home one weekend and I was using my MIL's hairdryer and it felt like no air came out compared to the Hana hairdryer. It was like night and day. I just love the power and speed of the Hana, it's just not comparable to drugstore dryers I've tried.
@anna—thank you, you are so sweet! I love your hair and you are so lucky that you can let it air dry and it still looks pretty. Mine is a mess when i air dry it.
@amy—i want to try that oribe product too 🙂
Please tell me you touched up the curls.. otherwise I might just give up and live my life in a pony tail. Lol.
I still can't believe that's 5 day old hair. That stuff must be seriously AMAZING.
@anon—yes, i retouched the curls with a curling iron—just about 5 huge sections or so.
@lindsay—I also used a but of baby powder on the 5th day over the dry shampoo which is why it looks even more matte—but even on its own the product is superior.
I live in the tropics…can't even go on with my life after a day of not washing my hair…really admire you not having to wash your hair, and 5 days, woah!
that is *the* best 5th day hair I have ever seen. I noticed you mentioned curling about 5 or so sections…could you share the curling iron brand and size of the barrel you used? Thanks!! 🙂
So crazy! I was just buying Oribe shampoo and conditioner and the sales associate asked me if I had tried Serge Normant because it also comes highly recommended! Looks like I might need to head back there and pick this product up!!! Thank you so much for sharing!!! And that picture on your 5th day speaks volumes – looks incredible!
Ooooh I want to buy that now, your hair look great after the 5th day! Thanks for sharing this product xoxo
Oh Wow I wonder can I get this in Ireland??…Sounds amazing xxxx
Wow! Your fifth day hair looks amazing!!! It looks like freshly washed and styled on that photo!
