Ever since my precious YSL Touche Eclat highlighting pen ran out, I’ve been on the hunt for a less-pricey product that basically did the same thing.
I still LOVE Touche Eclat, but this Maybelline product really delivers without the hefty price tag. It’s called “Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles.” I got it in the PINK color, but it also comes in other skin tone colors. If you are fair or have medium skin, I’d get the pink shade because that’s what counteracts darkness and creates a bright look around the eye. The pink shade is called #60 “Brightener”
After applying my concealer and then using my MAC Studio Fix powder on my entire face, I apply the Maybelline product under my eyes only. Then, I use an fluffy eyeshadow blending brush to blend it out and/or my finger to pat it into skin.
I prefer using pink or peach toned concealers under the eye because they create that coveted “glow” and “bright” look in the eye area, which can be more difficult to achieve with skin-toned products.
The applicator of this product, as you can tell from the photo above, is a sponge-tip applicator. I don’t mind it. I actually prefer the YSL brush/pen with the button you push to get the product out, but the sponge on the Maybelline Age Rewind is the perfect size to just swipe under each eye.
I truly think this product is a great investment for anyone who would like a brighter look around the eyes. It’s under $10 at more drugstores, which is a steal considering similar products retail for much more.
Just to clarify, because I will probably get this question—I still continue to use my Benefit “Eye Bright” pencil in the inner corners of my eyes. I only use the Maybelline product underneath my eyes (where you would get “bags”).
This product is definitely worth the investment—for anyone who either hasn’t bitten the bullet and gotten the YSL highlighter or for anyone who wants to try an alternative to it.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

Veronika.
FTC: I purchased this product with my own money when I discovered it at the grocery store. I am not being paid for this review, they are all just my honest to goodness true thoughts.
I've been on the fence about this product, and I'm glad you liked it. As a college student on a budget YSL is a wee bit pricey. $10 for hiding those bags in early morning classes and work meetings is perfect.
Thanks for the review!! 🙂
Can you show us a picture of this product on? It's hard to get an idea of what exactly it does.
Thanks!
pamela—sure, I can take a pic—but the thing is…you can't "see" it on. It's not like it looks pink under your eyes, it blends out. I've been wearing it daily for about 2 weeks so any recent photos I have it on—but what i can do is show one eye with it and one eye without it.
Ohh good tip! I want to see a picture with it on! 🙂 I know you say it doesn't make a difference, but I still want to see! Pretty please!
Great review; thanks! Just wondering, are you using undereye concealer, THEN this stuff, or is this the only item you are using to conceal under the eye? Thanks!
The color looks so lovely – the perfect pink tone.
If you like the YSL applicator (brush/pen) Maybelline also makes another concealer called 'Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Concealer'.
Thanks for the review :o)
awesome I will have to try this when my touché éclat runs out. I always love finding affordable products that actually work! 🙂
Did anyone told you that you look like younger version of Kate Middelton ? ;D
I LOVE when you do product reviews! I will defintely be trying this product. I ALWAYS have dark spots under my eyes regardless of what I do or don't do. Thanks for the tip!!
What a timely post! I just used the last of my under eye concealer this morning so I need to buy something new anyway. Yay for product recommendations! 🙂

ps-I picked up Bethenny's Book on Naturally Thin and although I am only on chapter 3 it is definitely helping me change the way I think about eating. Thanks for recommending it!
what is the name of the pink shade? i was looking for it today, but did not see any that looked pink to me. thanks!
This definitely looks like something I'd be interested in. I'd love to see you post some before/after pics!
I discovered an under eye concealer from aldi by lacura which i honestly think is a bit better than ysl i have been re purchasing it since i discovered it x
I'm excited about this product… I've been using the garnier under eye roller to help get rid of some the puffy look & then using a cover up. You should try it out, it feels amazing & is so refreshing. I'll definitely be adding this to my sopping list!
ps. loving your nail polish… i've got the same color on right now!
