As promised, I’m doing a post with more home photos that focus on the rooms in our home—whereas my last post was a little more focused on decor/details.
We had one showing already and here’s to hoping that momentum will continue!
Entryway
Living Room/Dining Area/Kitchen
Master Bed/Bath
Guest Bed/Bath
Well, that’s it! The place we’ve called home for the last 4 years. I love this house, we just need a little more room! I realize some people live in apartments and smaller homes than ours, but everyone has different preferences. Plus, if you want to have a family eventually, it’s nice to have that extra room, because kid’s stuff takes up a lot of space.
Looking at these photos makes me realize how far our home has come since when we bought it. The previous owners didn’t do anything to it—no paint, not decor…just a mish-mash of random stuff. It was definitely not as visually appealing as the property is now (not to toot my own horn or anything, but it was pretty bland and “eh” before we decorated it.) It’s so amazing how a home can transform with a paint job and a little strategic planning!
xoxo,
Veronika.
PS- was your home kind of blah before you moved into it and worked your magic?! Share your experiences in the comments below!
My home was a bachelor pad before moving in. The kitchen was a disaster. The stove didn't work, the fridge was in the dining room, the floors were peeling. Sounds gross and it was. The funny thing about it was my husband had renovated the whole house, except for that room because he just ate out instead. So we had this pretty home with freshly painted walls, new floors, new window treatments, and a dumpy kitchen. Needless to say, that was the first project we tackled after getting engaged. I couldn't move into a house with a kitchen in that shape. Now I love it! 🙂 Your home is gorgeous. I'm sure it'll sell quick. Love the wall color throughout.
megan–sounds like all of that work was worth it! I bet your home looks amazing now 🙂

taylor—if you can paint, I would paint because that really changes a home—pick some nice colors and make sure the trim is also painted a bright, glossy white.
To add some decorative touches without spending a ton, get great decorative pillows and a lovely duvet set for your bed. It can make a big impact.
Also—make sure you all work at keeping the house clean and uncluttered—that can do wonders in making the house look bright and pretty!
I love your interior! You have a skill there girl! How beautifull
You really did a great job decorating, each room looks great! I love that sectional, it looks like a really good size on these pictures. Did you get it at West elm?
Paint does wonders. We painted every single room in our place (except our half bath) and it really transformed the rooms.
lilly—yes :)! it's the tillary sofa from West Elm!
it looks great! good luck selling!

Veronika- I think you have a beautiful home. I hope it sells quickly! I know you didn't ask for suggestions but I have one (and I mean this in a helpful way, not a mean way). I would remove the buffet you have in the dining area. It makes the space look like there's not enough room for a dining room table and this could be a huge negative for people who like to entertain with dinner parties and such.
@anon—you're right, it does make the space look smaller because in reality, it is a small space. We can't really move the buffet because we kind of have nowhere to put it and it's a family heirloom type piece that's so heavy and hard to move and I don't want to move it more often than we need to. But I agree with you 100%!
It looks great! Your style is very different from mine, but I love it — especially all of the grey!
My husband and I are actually in the process of house-hunting right now, and I'd like to make one (unsolicited) suggestion from the perspective of a current homebuyer. If you have the time/money for one detail, I would suggest adding pulls to the cabinets in your kitchen and bathroom. It would definitely add some polish and I think it's the last remaining thing that seems a little "builder-grade," if you know what I mean. I hope this doesn't offend! Everything else is beautifully done.
@erin—that's a really good suggestion. Our realtor has told us not to do anything else to the house at this point (we got new carpet in the guest bedroom which had to be done). I would be worried I'd pick the wrong hardware—as a buyer, I'd rather have bare cabinets to be able to pick my own hardware, but that's just my personal opinion. I appreciate the suggestion though.
Oh yay! I love your house! I notice all the small touches you've done and it's simply stunning!
Your house looks great! WHy is it that you don't have anything on your walls though? They are so bare except for 2 mirrors and a tv….not one piece of artwork or a print..why is that?
It looks great! I love the paint colors, hardwood floors and transom window above the front door.
so not martha—we used to have an ikea painting over our bed but then we got a new bed and it didn't look good with it. The reason we don't have artwork up is because we knew we were going to put the house on the market so we didn't want to add any holes in the wall or put anything up that would be a distraction. I'd love to do a photo wall when we buy a new home, but I prefer the bare walls now that we are selling.
You have a really nice house. Very clean aesthetic that I'm sure will appeal to potential home buyers. Good luck!
Love your headboard! Everything looks very clean and organized, great for potential buyers!

LOVE your paint color choices. May I ask what the colors are? Thanks!
they are SW functional gray and BM smoked oyster
Gorgeous home!!
And yes… I will stop tanning. Next year that is one of my New Years Resolutions. I don't tan as much as I use to. Maybe 3 times a week. Such a waste of money. But it's truly addicting. :/
Tanning is just so awful. It's truly a bad habit. I know girls who tan everyday. 75%? I had no idea! But thank you so much for caring, it truly means a lot!
My fiance is the one who is forcing me to stop. He knew someone who's wife tanned, she was diagnosed with melanoma and passed away a few months later. 🙁
your home looks beautiful Veronika as always! your shower is crazy!!! I'd love to have one as roomy as that. i can imagine how hard it must be to leave your place behind after 4 good years in it, but it'll be exciting to move into a new space.
Your house looks great!

Just discovered your blog! Congratulations on your new home, you did a beautiful job decorating it and it is very spacious!
Such a beautiful home V! You and your H have impeccable taste!
The house looks great, move-in ready as they say. It also looks like it's been professionally "staged", good job! I agree that less is more when it comes to home decorating, took me a long time to get there (b/c I love um, stuff). But really it does have a calming effect. We're growing up and reaching the point that we'd rather some lovely high quality items (i.e. an original painting that we'll love forever, an investment piece) then a bunch of random inexpensive stuff that we get sick of rather quickly. With that, you've just inspired me to have a garage sale this summer. Too much stuff!
Your house is gorgeous. I love the lines and how it's modern with the clean straight lines. The grey is also gorgeous!
Love how you put together the house! It looks really great. I hope you guys get more momentum and can sell it quickly!
I'm helping my sister decorate her place and will show her your pics for some inspiration 🙂
Painting a room does not give it character. Although your walls are painted, the walls are stark bare making your home look very unfinished. Anyone can paint, but decorating a home seems to be daunting to you. I recommend browsing amazon or watching hgtv to start understanding the basics. While looking at your pictures, my are always drawn down as there is nothing to draw my attention upwards.
@anon- decorating is not "daunting" to me. We specifically did not put up artwork or photos on our walls because we knew we were going to sell the house and we didn't want to have to remove everything and leave holes. I think a ton of stuff on the walls can be distracting for buyers, a lot of realtors recommend removing art and photos.
I'd like to do a photo wall in our next home because I know we will be there longer term. That was always my plan 🙂 (of course I'll do other stuff too, the photo wall is just one project)
where do you buy your faux flowers? They are so beautiful and seem very classy as opposed to the way fake flowers can look.
Elle they are all from different stores like wal mart, pottery barn, ZGallerie, etc. Some are from a special events store or Michaels arts & crafts.
