I think the most amazing product I discovered this year is Suave’s Dry Shampoo
, which, by the way, I use all the time and I’m still on my first can—but I just had to share this new product with you because I have really been enjoying it.
. Don’t let the name fool you—I don’t find it to really be straightening, but it is really smoothing.
It’s called Organix Ever Straight Brazilian Keratin Therapy
ConditionerI have used this a few times now and I’ve just found that it makes my hair soft and smooth. In this humidity, it’s always a bonus to find a product that can do this.
The best part? It smells amazing. Like sweet coconut. And the smell LASTS. The other day, while I was working out, one of my workout buddies even noticed the smell. It is not strong or overbearing, but a fan was blowing on us and I was like “mmmm I can smell my conditioner”—and she said she smelled it too and it smelled like the beach!
I got mine at WalMart for just under $8.00 but it seems that Amazon sells it cheaper
xoxo,
Veronika.
I have the coconut shampoo and conditioner and I love it!
i want to try that! i love anything that smells like coconut.
also, love the suave dry shampoo! i got it because you raved about it, and i love it! i don't like spending too much money on dry shampoo, so it's perfect. it works, smells great, and is cheap 🙂
Not to burst your bubble, but the reason it's making your hair so smooth and humidity-proof is because it's loaded with non-water soluble silicones. It's just essentially coating/suffocating your hair. Sorry 🙁
Veronika – I've been praying and patiently waiting for my current shampoo and conditioner to run out so I can purchase from this line! So glad to hear you love it and I can't wait to give it a try myself:)

Anonymous, your hair doesn't need to breathe. It's dead. Filling the hair's pores with anything is bound to make it fuller and smoother. If this product sticks, there is no problem. The bigger issue is whether all the issues with formaldehyde in Brazilian keratin treatments also applies to this formaldehyde-free product — what have they replaced the formaldehyde with and is it carcinogenic?
Thanks for the review! I'm going to need to try this soon, since the weather is getting humid. I also love the Suave Dry shampoo. It is such a time saver for me! 🙂
I use the paraben free shampoos & conditioners by Organix. I first saw it at Bed Bath & Beyond and was able to us the 20% coupons. I've since seen it at Target.
For K,
I didn't literally mean it is suffocating your hair. My point is, silicones wrap your hair in a waxy film (giving the feel and appearance of softer and smoother tresses), which then builds up, keeps hair from actually asborbing the moisture it needs, thus creating breakage. I have seen stylists literally scrape built up silicone products off of hair strands. Ask any professional and they will tell that in the long run silicones are not good for your hair. Nevermind the other ingredients in the conditioner that are known to be cytotoxic…
Not trying to be a PITA, I just know from reading this blog that V puts her hair on the top of her priority list.
@anon—thanks for your comment. I think most hair products have a little silicone in them, but I am using sulfate free products for shampooing. I also alternate which conditioners I use and use a clarifying shampoo once a month or so to get rid of build up.
Veronika,
I had been wanting to try this line, and based on your review it sounds like it may be what I am looking for. One quick question, do you think it added any weight to your hair? I am looking for something that is smoothing, but that doesn't weigh my hair down too much. Thanks!!
chandra—I ONLY use it from the nape of my neck down to my ends. I don't think you should use this on your roots. Ends only. I think that will prevent you from getting your hair weighed down—this goes for ANY conditioner, not just this one!
Thanks for the tip! 🙂
I have been using the Organix Moroccan oil and its great! I put it in wet and dry and it doesnt leave my hair oily but its softens and protects and smells AMAZING! It was only 5.00!
Does anyone know if, after leaving the brazilian keratin therapy 30 day smoothing treatment in for 30 min do you rinse it out before you blow dry? The directions are not clear on this
