I got 3 new pillows—two from my beloved West Elm and one from Crate and Barrel. I think when it comes to decorative pillows, mixing textures and prints in complimentary colors is the way to go. It gives your decor a little depth and interest versus getting just the same pillows in the same color and texture. Ready to see the new additions? Me too!
Now, we won’t necessarily leave them laid out like that for the Realtor’s photos, but they are like that for now. I sit in that little corner with the new pillows. In fact, I’m sitting there right now with my legs up! We still LOVE our West Elm Tillary Sofa. It has been the best furniture investment ever. So comfy!
Oh, and someone else loves the new pillows too!
More house updates: we had new carpet put in in the downstairs bedroom. We have no idea what the heck happened, but the previous owners had stains all over it. We paid twice to have it cleaned but they just wouldn’t come out. They were pretty bad and made the room look dingy. We pretty much got the same carpet we had before, it’s just shiny and new now! Definitely worth it since it’s the first room people see when they walk in—we don’t want to turn people off right away!
Here’s how it looks now:
It’s incredible what a difference new carpet makes!
Are you as obsessed with pillows as I am? I can’t help it—they are pretty, soft and fluffy! What’s not to love? Plus, they can change the look of a room so easily! New pillows can equal a completely new and refreshed look.
Hope everyone had a great Monday! I only worked out 3 days last week so I need to get my butt back on track this week! My goal is to do 5 days this week.
xoxo,
Veronika.
PS- I’m off to cook dinner for the H! Yummy pasta primavera with pesto and shrimp! I’m working on my cooking skills!
Love the pillows! I'm also pillow obsessed 😉
Your interior looks lovely! I'm in love with texture and cozy fabrics for beds, couches, etc! It makes me so happy.
Yum! We had pasta too – mushroom ragu over penne. And I'm having a big glass of Zinfandel to wash it all down.
I don't think my H even noticed there was no meat in it, hee hee 🙂
I love pillows! It is such and easy update for a room! Good luck with the house sale! From what I can see it shows well and someone will fall in love with it!

I love the contrast of pillows on the guest bed! I would leave it just like that, I think it looks great. =)
@southerndomestic: thank you 🙂 i'm leaving it like that for now because I don't want to buy new sheets for that bed anytime soon!
I am also a pillow addict! I could buy a new one or 5 daily if some of the prettier ones didn't cost a fortune and I had a lot of storage where I could store the ones I didn't currently have out. I love the ones you bought, I love different textures! 🙂
We all get a little off track on our fitness once in a while. Make your goals happen this week : )
@sheila—I will 🙂 my trainer was out of town so I took some days off!
I love the pillows! Everything looks great, as always. Lulu is so cute 🙂
Veronika I just wanted to thank you so much for your lovely blog:) I've worked like a maniac all winter and haven't been following any of my fav blogs, I spent several hours on Sunday catching up and it was so much fun to read your posts from the last 6+ months! I've really been neglecting taking care of myself lately and I got so inspired by your positive attitude. I've done some small things today (purchased a hair straightener-omg amazing!, cooked a nice healthy dinner, made plans with my husband to finalize our home decorating) that really made me feel good.
All that might sound silly and superficial but I think it's important that well-educated women with careers (such as ourselves) also nourish our feminity. I started a little journal tonight of things to do that are totally fun and not work related. I feel more balanced and centered as a result.
Keep up the good work and thanks again!
@julie—I love your comment and you're 100% right! it's important to have "me" time because it makes you feel good about yourself and that translates to other facets of life 🙂 thanks for being such an awesome reader!
p.s. I've also been inspired to hire a monthly cleaning service:) Now don't get me wrong, our house is nice and tidy but the last thing my husband and I feel like doing on the weekends is "deep cleaning". It's a small luxury but one we can afford and hopefully get a lot of enjoyment out of.
@julie—I've contemplated getting a cleaning lady but haven't because I invested in a personal trainer instead. I think it might be worth it though to get the house deep-cleaned once a month. 🙂
I am in LOVE with that pillow that looks like a sweater!! Good pick:))
amelia:)
I love the pillows and your dog :).
Love all of the pillows and updates! 🙂 We are currently trying to sell our condo right now and I have one piece of advice for you that our realtor gave us. Do you have (or could you buy) a very thin bedside table to put next to that guest bed? Having a table there will allow you to put a thin lamp and book to make it look more usable?
@courtney—thanks for the tip 🙂 I guess I could buy a side table but not sure I want to since I don't really know how I'll want the guest room in our next home. Good idea though! I like the bare look of the room right now because it just looks airy and nice. But you're right in that we could make it look more "liveable" I'll see what I can come up with!
Love it! you have an amazing taste I'll definitively would be asking a lot of questions when we finally find a home!

Cute pillows! Practical as well as pretty!
I love some pillows too! Adorable!
Do you have the Tillary sofa against a wall? I want it so badly, but it will be "floating" in the room and I worry about the cushions.
half is on a wall half isn't. the cushions are weighted and don't fall off. If someone really heavy was leaning on them really hard then they might slip a little, but if you just lay back on them they don't slip off.
Love it! What color paint is on your bedroom walls?

I love all the pillows. And Lulu look so adorable!
