I’ve been feeling stressed, overwhelmed, anxious, worried, you name it. I just haven’t been myself lately and I know it’s because things have been so crazy. Thank goodness I have a great H and fluffy little four-legged friend to come home to, don’t know what I’d do without em’.
A lot of you know that I don’t get a lot of vacation time at work and when we get as busy as we have been and you throw life into that mix, you get one very tired girl (me.)
I will try to get back to regular blogging soon, and I don’t even know why I’m posting this, but I just didn’t want anyone to think there was something wrong (okay, so there is, but now you know.)
Thanks for reading!
xoxo,
Veronika.
PS- we are thinking of going to Vegas this summer—-has anyone been? Do you recommend it for a fun 3 day getaway?
No worries dear, there's nothing wrong with taking more time for yourself. Blogging is hard when you have so many other things on your plate. I actually have been feeling the very same way. Not with work so much, but just with life in general. I've been feeling super anxious, and it really takes a toll on everything else. I hope we both feel better and back to normal soon!
Vegas is so fun! I love it, and I think 3 days is the perfect amount of time.
Vegas is awesome! It was one of the best weekends me and my husband had together. And the shopping is fabulous too!
You rest, girl! We'll see you when you return.
Vegas is the BEST! You can do a lot in 3 days. Stay somewhere fabulous, like the Wynn, eat at their restaurants, SHOP, lounge by the pool!
Dude that's SO weird! An hour ago I tweeted that EXACT SAME THING. That many people/bloggers (that I've noticed at least) are SoOoo tired/worn out, myself included. Ugh. I know for me it's finals comming up, but holy cow this time of year sucks! Hang in there. Ice cream helps! Lol

My husband and I went to Vegas with his family around Christmas. It's a blast and you will love all the shopping! 3 days is a great amount of time. Stay somewhere fabulous– my favorite hotel is The Cosmopolitan.
I hope you're feeling back to your normal self soon. Enjoy your relaxing time!

Vegas is great for a quick getaway. You can splurge or go cheap or a mix of the two.
When we went two years ago we were on a budget…so we toured all the hotels, saw all the free shows, hang out by the pool, sat at a bar in one of the casinos sipping a drink and people watching. There are lots of sites that have coupons for Vegas, for 2 for 1 meals or 1/2 price shows.
Three years ago we splurged a bit. Saw a show, went outlet shopping, had the buffet breakfast at the Wynn, went for a massage and had dinner at a nice restaurant.
I also wanted to say, in time of stress and exhaustion, IBS can flare up. Exercise helps, so it's great that you are keeping up with your trainer.
Look after yourself and stay healthy.
Hope you feel better soon! I was actually born in Vegas and have a ton of family there so go all the time. It is a great place for a long weekend! If you need any recommendations on shows, hotels, or things to do, let me know!
I love Vegas….shows, food, shopping, pool….it's wonderful!
Hope things get calmer at work. Feel better!
I love Vegas, I recommend staying at Treasure Island it's a nice hotel but always a good deal. And it's on a great location on the strip.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Vegas! Best 3 day getaway ever. Pick a place with a really great pool. Ah, maybe I'll go this summer!
Vegas is great fun- but takes a lot out of you! Go to a beach, it'll be so much more relaxing. 🙂
REST REST REST V!!!
Don't worry about us, we'll still be here when you get back 😉

That sucks. Get some rest and relaxation.
I highly recommend Las Vegas for a 3 or 4 day getaway but no more than that. I was so sick and tired of Vegas on the 5th day (had to stay there for about two weeks because the husband had business to deal with).
My favorite hotels on the strip are The Venetian and the Wynn.
We understand, take a minute or two to yourself! See ya soon! 😉
I'm partial to Vegas because I live in Vegas! I work in VIP Services and Event Planning so if you need any help/suggestions for your trip e-mail me: [email protected]. I also second Mrs. D, The Cosmopolitan is amazing!
I'm so sorry Veronika…I completely understand where you're coming from with regard to being overwhelmed with work. I think it's good to focus on your workouts, husband, and dog and get back to the things that bring you the most happiness. Everything else will fall back into place the way it's supposed to.
Vegas is great for the food and entertainment (ie shows). There are so many fabulous restaurants and shows to see…definitely a great time! 🙂
I love, love, love Vegas!!! We are partial to the Wynn and usually stay there. You can't go wrong with a Vegas getaway. Pools, shopping, food, shows…it's super indulgent.
You are not alone in feeling the burn out. So many people I have talked to lately, myself included, have been experiencing the burning the candle at both ends syndrome. Take care and rest up!
Hope you get back to feeling yourself soon, love. I know exactly how you feel.
I love Vegas! I got married there last year and there is so much to do on a variety of different budgets. If you book far enough in advance you can usually stay at one of the luxury hotels for relatively cheap. I love to go and just veg by the pool all day in the hot desert sun, and then do a bit of gambling, see a show, and check out all of the cool hotels at night.
Definitely take some time off for yourself V, it will recharge you!
AND you DEFINITELY need to go to Vegas! It's one of my favorite places in the whole world.
I love TheHotel at Mandalay Bay and I've seen just about every Cirque show there is, that is a must, in my opinion. That will be such a great getaway for you two!
xoxo
I hope things ease up for you soon!! And to answer your question – Vegas is a perfect 3 day getaway. There's so much fun stuff to do, I definitely recommend!
Hey Veronika,
I definitely think if you feel you need to take time off, you should absolutely go for it. Your readers will still be here waiting for you when you return 🙂
It sounds like you're feeling super overwhelmed. Take time for you, and maybe even schedule a couple of spa treatments or a mani/pedi!
Vegas is a lot of fun!!! I know you don't really like to drink, so the party scene may not interest you, but I think you'll really love the shows, especially! There are also tons of amazing restaurants (my favorite is N9NE Steakhouse at The Palms). Every hotel offers something cool and different to look at. And I'd say 3 nights, 4 days is a perfect length of time! (oh, and the shops are incredible!!! you have to go to The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace, and Treasure Island has a mall with more casual mall-friendly stores).
Hope things ease up for you soon!! xoxo

I love Las Vegas! It's an excellent getaway.
Take some rest, and hope to see you around soon
Love Vegas! We're not gamblers but there's so many other things to do & see. From what I understand the summer isn't the best time to go because of how hot it is. We went in October & it was AWESOME! We stayed at The Venetian. It was gorgeous. We're planning another trip for our anniversary in Oct.
I hope you can get some well needed rest and catch up. I definitely know the feeling.
As for Vegas… LOVE it! DH and I have been twice in the past year and a half and love it. We stayed at MGM Grand the first time and loved their pool complex with their lazy river. The second time we stayed at the Mirage and got upgraded to a suite just for being Facebook fans. We always pick our hotels there based on the rooms and the pool complex since you can visit any of the hotels for their casinos, restaurants, and night life. Next time we go we're either going to stay at the Hard Rock (to party) or at the Palazzo for some more luxury.
It's very hot there in the summer which is when we've gone both times, but that's when you get to enjoy their amazing pool clubs. We hang out at the pool during the day and sight see/go out at night when it's not as hot. Just drink lots of water and stay in the air conditioning or pools during the day.
I think I am starting to experience this myself so I can empathize. Relax this weekend, take a bubble bath, watch a movie and SLEEP (one of my fave activities). We will miss you but we want our V relaxed and healthy! 🙂
I just went to Vegas and although I'm not a gambler or a drinker, I still had a great time. Sign up for Groupon e-mails for Vegas. We (husband and I) wound up getting a great deal on skydiving and it was a blast. We also used restaurant.com certificates for a few restaurants that had gotten great reviews online and managed to save some money that way (you NEED to go to Hash House A Go Go…their fried chicken eggs benedict is ridiculous and must be shared). Vegas can get pricey really quickly. We saw Le Rev at the Wynn and it was AMAZING. We bought the tickets the day of and saved about $30 per ticket.
rest up!! hope you get to feeling better!
Vegas is fantastic, but if you are exhausted and need a relaxing vacay…I wouldn't recommend it. After a trip to Vegas, I always feel like I need a relaxing vacation. Vegas has so many stimulants with the casinos, your brain will constantly be going. The lights and shows are fantastic, but its….CONSTANT.
Take care of yourself!
I completely understand where you're coming from. Some times life just gets in the way. Take time for yourself and take care of yourself. We'll miss your posts but you come first!
Southwest has some great deals on flights and rooms for VEGAS right now. You may want to check them out.
Rest up and enjoy!!
Vegas for 3 days is wonderful, lots of walking, shopping, shows, and hey if you like a little gambling fun, you won' t have to look long! My most fav Vegas trip was when we stayed at the Palms Place (hotel/residences) it was away from the strip, gorgeous hotel, with a private pool area perfect for relaxing, spa, restaurants, and just a short sky walk away to The Plams if you want more restaurants, clubs, and people watching!
Girl I totally understand!!! I hope you are doing well and get some serious R and R! You deserve it!!
I am feeling the same way lately.
I hope to see you soon though!!!

I know what you mean! My life has caught up with me and I need to catch up on some major sleep!!! You gotta do whatever it takes to get yourself feeling good. I am jealous you've been able to keep your workout routine, as that I wasn't even able to keep!
