For Lining Your Waterline
Number one is Urban Decay’s 24/7 Eyeliner in “Zero.” It’s actually much better than my Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes Eyeliner
for the waterline, specifically. It goes on smooth (almost creamy) and stays put. I think UD’s liner is overall a better product than MUFE’s liner, if you’re on the fence. I only use this on my waterline and that’s the purpose I bought it for.
I don’t really get dark circles, but I do like to brighten my eye area to really make eyes look awake, rested and overall pretty. I have wanted to try Yves Saint Laurent’s Touche Eclat for quite awhile now but couldn’t justify the $40 price tag. What prompted me to finally buy the full size is when I got a sample of it with my first Sephora F&F order. It was love at first application (I have Number 1- Luminous Radiance, by the way.)
I use a fluffy eyeshadow blending brush to blend the product into my under eye area after I’ve applied it from the actual clicky brush thing that the product comes in.
Touche Eclat is basically a concealer/highlighter that brightens skin and makes eyes look vibrant. It’s pricey, but a fun splurge if you’re looking for a great highlighter/concealer. Please note that if you have dark circles, you will still need to use a regular concealer as this is a brightening/highlight product. It doesn’t have heavy coverage, it’s very light, almost translucent.
About 3 weeks ago, I got a couple of samples of Ole Henriksen Ultimate Lift Eye Gel. I was a little skeptical at first because it’s not an anti-aging product so I thought to myself “why would I need this?” The answer was clear after the first few nights I used it.
Notice how I said NIGHT. You might read the reviews about this product with people complaining that it’s “too sticky” and “you can’t wear makeup over it.” That, my friends, is because this is a NIGHT TIME ONLY product. It IS sticky but you just put it on and go to sleep so it doesn’t bother me at all.
The moment you put the cooling gel on your eyes you can feel its firming effects. Basically, the gel is meant to be used at night to firm the eye area and to reduce puffiness so that when you wake up everything is marvelous!
I bought the full size of this eye gel and use it nightly. I plan to eventually do it every other night, alternating it with an anti-aging eye cream. I would say this is a MUST for anyone who doesn’t get enough sleep. That’s not the case for me, but I just like how smooth my eyes look when I use it.
Do you have an products to rave about? Did any of your Sephora F&F purchases turn out to be Holy Grail worthy?
xoxo,
Veronika.
PS- I know it’s Monday—and I don’t have a MM this week—but I will share this: tonight, when I got home from work I felt drained and overall like I just wanted to plop down on the couch and watch TV. I forced myself to change into gym clothes as soon as I got home. I went to my gym, did 30 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of ab and leg work. I was really proud that I pushed myself because overall, I feel a lot better now.
I am going to try to finish up some of my packing for my trip now. Can you believe all I’m taking is a big purse and one carry-on suitcase? I’m really trying to maximize what I bring so it’s all versatile—lots of black, of course!
I hope you have a good trip, Veronika. Good job on going to the gym. I have to go straight from work so I don't lose motivation 🙂
I am going to have to try that eye gel…I am always on the lookout for a good one!
Congrats on working out tonight! I have had no motivation to work out, but that could be because I have been traveling for work for the past 3 weeks.
I love the eyeliner for your waterline. I had no idea that kind of stuff was out there! Thanks!
Hahahahahahaha, I love it when I read product reviews and people are all, "I used this completely the wrong way and completely ignored all instructions AND I GIVE IT ONLY ONE STAR OUT OF FIVE". *head palm*
Great reviews! My only HG is the Clarins Delicious Self Tanning Cream at the moment- finally found a self-tanner that doesn't fade and make me look like I have a weird skin disease. 😐
Thanks for the review on the eyeliners! I've been looking at them for awhile and trying to choose between brands, so I'll keep this in mind. They aren't glittery though, are they? And do they go on true-to-colour or in a sheer kind of way?
I love the Bliss Triple Oxygen + C Energizing Cream!! I got a sample of it and oh boy!!! It's $54 which to me seems just INSANE! I've tried a couple Olay products to see if any compare and so far no luck! Hard to explain what this product does, but it really does feel cooling and energizing and helps zap puffy under eye circles! Next time you are in Sephora ask them to make a sample for you! But then you too will want a $54 face cream!
Thanks for the review on the eye gel. I may have to pick that up for my FI. He has bad bags and wants to get rid of them.
@polyvorina— the UD eyeliner has a very strong color payoff—it's a very deep carbon black. I love it. Definitely not sheer at all.
@therambler—thanks for he tip 🙂 I've never used Bliss products!
@Chloe— I'm intrigued—I use thr Calrins SPF tanning milk for my face and love it…I MUST try this other clarins tanner you speak of! thanks for the tip 🙂
I, too, am obsessed with Touche Eclat (I bought #1 too 🙂
And I love UD 24/7, I use Rock Star as my every day liner, I really love it. So funny, I just did my Sephora post today too–I bought the peel pads you rec'ed!
I just bought Benefit's Boi-ing concealer in hopes that it will work some magic on my under-eye circles (I need something heavier than the YSL!).
I only ever travel with a carry on & (very) large purse. I have made it through 10 days in Costa Rica that way, and two weeks in North/South Carolina. I feel like I've become an expert in packing light! I used to be a horrendous over-packer, until I spent 3 months in Europe lugging heavy luggage everywhere only to find I really only wore about a third of what I brought. Never again, LOL!
Travel safely!
i love ysl products, they do have a hefty price tag which is why i tend to stay away from them, but maybe i will try this product because i have seen lots of reviews on it.
Thanks for this post! I've been wanting to purchase the UD 24/7 liner in Zero, but its a little pricey. So far, everything I've read about it is good!
You have a great blog. I'm following. I look forward to more reviews.
Check out mine if you'd like. I'm hosting a giveaway of CHI silk Infusion and Hana Shine Shield.

I'm always looking for an amazing eye product, so thanks for sharing these! And kudos for you for hitting the gym when I tired. Of course I say that as I type away on the computer!
Thanks for the reviews!! I love that eyeliner…
I absolutely love YSL'S perfect touch foundation. A lot of people have stopped me to ask what brand I use that it looks very even and airbrush like. I have stopped using eyeliner on my waterline because I have found one that stays put… thanks for the Rec! Do you think the eye cream will work for dark circles?
Thanks Cristy:)
@cristy—I don't think the eye cream is designed for dark circles, but it can;t hurt to use it a few nights a week. Try an eye cream that is specifically targeted at dark circles 🙂
I think I'll ask for a sample thanks 🙂
I love the UD 24/7 eyeliner… goes on so smooth, very easy to apply!
I just bought the Ole Henrikson Truth Serum to give it a try… says it is good for environmental pollution, which I obviously deal with on a daily basis here!
Still using anastasia's highlighting pencil… love it still… ques, does yours require a special sharpener or does any old sharpener work? I bought a sharpener, its the right size but it still won't sharpen the pencil! No idea why.
mshark—I used a regular sharpener for it with 2 sizes of sharpeners 🙂
It must be the crappy China sharpener I bought for like .75 cents. The thing is, it sharpens my lancome pencils but not the anastasia! weird! I'll buy a different one. Thanks!
