She did such a wonderful job and my hair feels lighter and so much better than before. You sometimes don’t realize how “heavy” your hair gets when you’re growing it out. My layers needed some major length chopped off. I think the cut brings out the color so much better too:
The boots are by Jessica Simpson. I was surprised because I had no idea what brand they were until I made the decision to purchase them. I really love them. The color and fit are just perfect! You can buy them here.
I also love the coat I got from Zara. It was quite pricey at about $169 but I saw the same prices at Macy’s and other stores for wool coats. I actually tried Macy’s first and they didn’t have any coats I really loved, which surprised me. I just thought this one from Zara has such a flattering fit and is the perfect length for my tall body. I also tried it on with a few belts and love the look!
I am still on the hunt for flat boots. I tried the popular Steve Madden “Intyce” boots on, but the foot part just didn’t look right on me. When you have bigger feet (I wear a 10) it’s harder to find flat boots that don’t look huge. So I’m still on the lookout! I don’t want to spend a ton on them.
Paris is feeling so much more real now that I’m actually buying stuff to take there! We are so excited 🙂
xoxo,
Veronika.
PS- let me know if you did any weekend shopping!
Love your new purchases and your hair looks gorgeous! You really didn't lose the length, which is great. How much did you cut off?
thanks chrissy! I didn't get a lot cut off the actual length mostly just the layers which needed to be cut quite a bit 🙂
I got the yoga pants today and you were so right, they're SO comfortable and flattering on!!
I love the new boots!
Have you tried Aldo for boots? I've seen some fashion bloggers post some great flat boots from there – apparently they are reasonably priced AND great quality.
I personally have only bought bags from Aldo – not shoes…I'm a payless girl – their shoes are so comfy and last forever.
ella- thanks for the rec 🙂 I haven't tried on boots there but I own shoes from there! I will have to check it out!
You hair looks great and love your new purchases. Where is your long white tee from you are wearing with your leggings? Love it for casual.
I just bought somewhat similar boots from aldo! the heel is a bit lower…perfect for trekking across campus! love the coat!!

Ahhh!!! Love your jacket!!! And it looks perfect with the boots too. I love love love Paris (so much family there!), hope you have an amazing time!
I know it's not the first place most people look but have you tried Target? I've been stalking a pair of Frye 12R Harness boots, but needed to save $$. Found a pair at Target that are almost exactly the same for $49.99. And they are leather.
This isn't the pair I bought, but you might like them. They've received some really good reviews from other fashion bloggers.

Love your hair! Love the boots! I totally hear you on size 10 feet, I am the same way.
Love the boots you picked out. Remember, if you think they are too big on the calf you can always get that pulled in by a shoe repair person. I always do that to my boots since size 10 boots usually have a HUGE calf area (at least on me).
You are going to have a great time in Paris! I am so excited for you.
xoxo

I love your coat and the heeled boots! The length of the coat is great for you. I just posted on my blog about a new pair of flat boots I bought from endless dot com. It's hard for me to find ones I love, as well. Good luck on your hunt! 🙂
I'm so working on letting my hair grow out b/c of you! Your hair is just gorgeous! I'm going to try to cut it only for trimming purposes! Wanted to let you know I tried Pilates for the first time yesterday! Oh my, I am soo sore. I never new I had muscles in some of the places that I hurt. I'm going to try Yoga on Tuesday. Hopefully, Both of those classes with Zumba will get me some results!
your hair looks fantastic! and don't you just love zara? i got my winter coat there too. i'm trying to figure out which one you got–can't really tell from the picture. does it have a lapel?
That jacket is well worth the money! Very cute!
You are going to have sooo much fun in Paris, I'm super jealous because it's my favourite place in the entire world. Miss Paris every day!
The haircut is perfect! Did the cut bring out all those waves or is that the style? Either way, I think it looks great!
Lookin' good in your winter gear. I love the coat and boots. What size is the coat?
You will have a great trip. I was in Paris over New Years in 2002. I also went to Spain and Ireland on that trip! Fun stuff.
This is the second time I've seen awesome JS boots (I also love Kim's)… how do you find the circumference?? My calves are 13" or less so I really need like 14-14.5" openings at the most… what do you think??
Hair looks great and the coat looks really cute belted 🙂
Are those boots similar color to the intyce cognac ones?
I love the coat and boots! I can't believe they are your first pair of "real" boots. Craziness 🙂 I am always on the lookout for great boots because I think its hard to find a style that fits your leg shape and length, and feels comfortable, and looks stylish, etc. It can be a dawnting task!
I went to Sephora yesterday and picked up Nars "Turkish Delight" lipgloss. I've wanted to try it for a long time but felt bad spending $24 on lipgloss. I already love it – thanks!!
You have the prettiest hair, I love it! Love the new purchases too!
@anon- I think I got the tee at a store called "love culture"
@tinkerblue- I will try target and I also plan to try aldo 🙂
@Les- so glad you love the ALO pants! 🙂 yay 🙂
@amber- feel the burn! Pilates is awesome
@leena- I will check the inside of the coat later today. The front pockets don't open…not sure if that helps?
@carolyn- my stylist used a curling iron after the blowdry to create those soft curls.
@E Hayes- The boots stay up really well but they are not super fitted. By that I mean that they are fitted enough to stay up, but not tight around my calves. My best friend tried them on too, and she is a bit shorter and way thinner than me and she felt they were not tight enough BUT they did look fantastic on her and she agreed they did.
@anon- the JS boots are more of a true neutral brown whereas the cognac boots are a much warmer brown. I plan to get my flat boots in a cognac color. The JS boots have a very nice worn look to them, the color is great 🙂
oh and the coat is a size Medium. The small fit too but the arms felt tighter and i wanted to be able to layer 🙂
Wow, great buys V! Those boots are really really great on you and the coat looks very chic. Love it with the belts!
Oh and ps-your hair is absolutely amazing! It's looking great!
I love your hair!
Your hair looks awesome! You're going to look so good walking around Paris with that coat and some cute boots.
I second the Target Karima boots. They are a little egdy but still stylish, the price is right, and they are very comfy. IMO, they are not as shiny IRL as they are on the website, and the leather doesn't feel plasticky and cheap. The calf is also pretty slim. If anything, they'd be great for walking around the city in bad weather (think icy and rainy) because if they get trashed, you're only out $50.
I love that coat! You will fit right in walking the streets of Paris =)
The boots are pretty too. I am now on the hunt for brown or camel colored boots!
Love that coat. I tried the SM Intyce and they didn't look right on me either. I have the SM Bonanza from a couple years ago and I love them.

Oh and hair is gorgeous—I think I need to trim up my layers too, it's starting to look a little shabby. 🙂
I have a black wool coat similar to that, with a belt that came with it, I bought it two winters ago now (I live in Canada, so the winters here are rough) and going onto my third winter the coat is still in perfect shape. When you find a classic quality piece, price is not an object.
Those boots are absolutely to die for. I need a pair similar to that, and a flats as well, since mine were destroyed by salt last year 🙁
Christina
I love your hair…you just reminded me how much I need to get my hair trimmed. The JS boots are great…I have been looking for boots with a heel.
I love the boots! I'm the hunt for a pair of flat black boots that don't remind me of the killer in "I Know What You Did Last Summer." No luck yet!
Your hair looks beautiful, I love how she styled it.
Your Paris trip is going to be amazing! Great purchases, I love the coat, so chic and classic. I really like the boots too!
Love that whole look! those boots are so cute and love the belting over the coat.
i loveee those boots!!
Your hair looks great and those boots are adorable! I want them!

Just last weekend I bought flat Candies boots from Kohl's. I'm a size ten too and they had a huge selection, so head over there if you get a chance!
Are those belts from Zara also? I love the first one with the coat!
the first belt is Tory Burch the second belt is F21 🙂
Your hair color is perfection! I love it!!!!!! And i do love that coat..but cant stop obsessing over your hair. Keep re-reading this post!!
How did you decide between the glossy wellies vs. the matte? I want to buy a pair for myself but I can't decide between the two.
I felt the black ones looked better glossy
