She hosted this class to help support a charitable cause- a soup kitchen in Vietnam. Everyone made a donation to take the class and I think it’s a wonderful thing when someone offers their time and talent for a great cause like that.
I was one of the only people there sans Nikkon or Canon DSLR, but I was just there to learn and to meet one of my favorite photographers. I am definitely going to invest in a better camera this year before Christmas. I can’t wait!
Eventually, my plan is to set up my camera on a tripod and use a remote to take my outfit photos. I want the images to be clearer and crisper (uh, so not like they are right now.)
Someone at the class taught me how to use my timer today (because I never even really realized my camera had one…) so I’ve decided to try and use my tripod from now on to take outfit photos. I did a few test shots today wearing sweatpants:
Do you love my outfit!? LOL. I should have probably just stayed in what I wore today but I changed as soon as I got home. I have to give a big shout-out to my friend Ed who sent me this awesome tripod for my birthday! Thanks Ed!

Veronika.
PS- Tuesday the 21st is my one year blogging anniversary!!!! Has it really been a year? I can’t believe it! Thank you to everyone who’s been reading from the start and everyone new too. You ladies keep me motivated and your comments make me glad to have blogging friends like you!
Yay to better outfit pics! I believe that you can rotate the top of the tripod and turn the camera so that it takes vertical pics. This way you can get closer to the camera and there is more space up and down so that we will be able to better see details of the outfit. With the way it is set up it seems like you are too far away.
You home decor is lovely!
janice- thanks 🙂 I didn't realize you could swivel it to a vertical shot! yay! I just tried it and you're right it's MUCH better. Thanks for the tip!
I'm looking at your home more than I am your outfit. My goodness your house belongs in a magazine. Gorgeous!
sally- you are so sweet! I love doing home decor posts but haven't changed anything in awhile…
When we get a new house it's going to be home decor madness! eeek!
I agree that you should turn the tripod around, and stand closer to the camera or use the zoom. It will be nice to see clearer photos of your outfits.
I like your home decor.
rebecca- I just turned it vertical 🙂 I didn't realize that was an option! I'm happy to have better photos 🙂 yay! no more mirror!
your outfit is so cute! 😀 love it
Wow what a big difference in quality when you use the tripod! Can't wait to see you explore this a bit more 🙂
ps your home is just gorgeous. I would love to have a living room like that!
And thanks for your comment, haha, I got a good laugh out of it. Sorry that rum hasn't exactly treated you well!
thanks Kinsey! yeah the rum story was funny! I am just in awe of women who can drink more than 2 glasses of wine and still be able to walk! I am such a cheap date!
Love the tunic – the print is so delicate and feminine.
Your living room is beautiful – it looks like it belongs in a magazine! I wish I had your flair for interior decorating…I know what I like – but have a hard time putting individual pieces together…
I love the new background! Awesome that you learned how to use the tripod.

Oh fun that you are taking a photography class. Have fun!
I know you've answer this before but what is the paint color of your living room? Anything you don't like about the color?
