Happy Saturday lovely ladies! Before I start this post I want to say that I am going to announce the winner of the contest in a separate post so it’s not confusing. So look out for that later today or early tomorrow.
As many of you read yesterday, it was raining and flooding so we figured we’d try to spend Saturday indoors. I thought the mall would be an awesome indoor place in which to spend some time so we headed to the Galleria mall to check out the 4th of July sales.
I got my iPhone outfitted today with a clear protector shield thing from the Best Buy Mobile store inside the Galleria. They put it on there for you (it’s kind of like the process of tinted car windows). I believe the shield was $21 and the application of it was about $6.99. I think that’s a great deal to have a protected screen, and it has a lifetime warranty. It can be removed whenever you like too, which is great.
I went to a bunch of stores today just to see what was out there…J.Crew, Ann Taylor, Club Monaco, Norstrom, Macy’s, Aldo, etc.
I ended up going to Zara again and picked up two more dresses. Both of them look very blah on the hangers, but on, they look incredible.
The first is a dress is a flowy dress with a Grecian-godess-like draping at the front. It looks AMAZING on, when it’s belted. I’ll have to do an OOTD with it on so you can see. It’s work-appropriate length too! I got this one in a size medium.
I know it looks like a random sack of a dress on the hanger, but I promise it transforms with a belt!
The next is this totally adorable strapless number. I had initially tried it on in a medium and it was just too big and had too much extra fabric…so if you’re trying on this one, I would size down. I purchased the size small for $39.99 (the other dress was on sale for the same price)
Once again, “blah” on the hanger, but on it is very fitted and sleek. It is also just above my knee in length so it’s perfect for work or play. For work, I would pair this with a belted cardigan and a cute necklace. I just love it!
I also stopped by Bath & Body Works to pick up some of their body washes that were on sale for $3 (down from $10.50.) They don’t have a lot of the scents on sale, but they have about 5 of them. I got the ones below (the Dove body wash was later purchased at Walgreens on sale for $5.99- down from $9.99)
I love fresh, summery scents!
After we went to the Galleria I decided to stop in at DSW to see if they had these cute jelly flats in stock (they have them online-here) but unfortunately they weren’t in the store. Can I just have an aside here about jelly flats? I seriously can’t imagine a more convenient flat shoe. They are perfect in any weather, rain or shine and you can wash them with antibacterial soap without ruining them! I love my J.Crew ones and want to build on my collection now.
Anyway, while there, I became unexpectedly attracted to some Calvin Klein platform heels and I just couldn’t leave without them. I really think they are a unique looking heel. What do you ladies think?
I like how they are open-toe and I absolutely love the cutouts on the side. I know I have a lot of black heels…but these seemed different enough to justify. They were $89. That’s it for shopping fun! I think I did well today 🙂
In other news, here’s my nail polish du-jour. It’s Essie’s “Exposure,” a hot pink color:
It’s fun for a change. I must admit that really light pinks and really dark colors are still my favorites, but every once in awhile I like to pump it up a bit.
For makeup, I’ve recently been using a medium-toned gray cream eyeliner (by Smashbox- the one that came in that free Sephora kit) on my lower lash line and I really love the look of it:
It’s kind of a softer look for the lower lashline.
…Before I go, I also wanted to share with you all some outfit of the day photos from the past few days that I didn’t upload until today. I figure I might as well share them!

I also wanted to show you ladies “third day curls” in my hair. What I mean by that is that I had hair that was unwashed for 3 days and then I curled it on both the second and third days with a curling iron. I think they turned out pretty cute! Please note that I used baby powder on my roots on the 3rd day as a dry shampoo prior to curling it.
Onto the next outfit…it was kind of oddly matched, but I just wore it anyways, because sometimes, you just don’t have enough time to change.

Did you buy anything this weekend? Tomorrow I would like to bake cupcakes and see the new Eclipse movie. Have you seen it yet?
xoxo,
Veronika.
Awesome purchases and outfits! 🙂
I can't wait to see what the first dress looks like one you .
You always have the cutest clothes!
And I would definitely recommend Eclipse, it was very good – especially if you liked the first two movies.
I just love all of your outfits!
I have that same screen protector on my iPhone and I love it 🙂
I didn't buy any clothes this weekend, just a bunch of makeup. My favorite purchases are 2 MAC brushes (the 227 and 239, both of which I LOVE so far!), the Benefit Eyebright (after I read that you use it every morning I went to makeupalley to read up on the reviews and they were all fairly positive so I couldn't resist!) and my first MAC paintpot! The color is Artifact but I want to go back and also get Bare Study and Painterly.
Btw, the rain here was CRAZY, wasn't it? Stupid me drove into highwater but luckily, nothing happened to my car. (sighs of relief)
Oh, and I also saw Toy Story 3 with my hubby. SO CUTE but I cried a bit at the end 🙁 Also, the short film in the beginning was AWESOME.
Thanks for your comments ladies! Happy 4th to everyone!
your curls look so great!!! love them.
i'm glad you had more luck at Zara, i'm kicking myself for not going there this weekend. i was right near the mall and could have easily checked out their sale! i can TOTALLY see the second dress looking adorable, even from the way it sits on the hanger. i can't wait to see how you style the first one. ALSO, love the new heels! the cut-outs really set it apart from being an ordinary black heel. have a lovely 4th!
I wish my hair looked liked that after 3 days! Even with dry shampoo, my hair gets SO oily. I really like that pink Essie nail polish! Very pretty!

Oh I love those shoes, their quite different! Also love your pink nails and your hair looks so good for 3rd day without washing!
Cute outfits as always!
I like the strapless black dress you're wearing in the CK shoe pic. Your 3rd day curls are so pretty!
I've been doing a lot of shopping recently – for our summer holiday – got hubby and the kiddies new clothes too. This weekend I took advantage of the Old Navy 30% off sale. I always find good summery stuff there.
Love the new shoes!
I saw Eclipse yesterday and loved it. It is definitely the best of the three movies so far.
olivea- i have heard from some people that hated it too…I can't wait to see it for myself but I have a good feeling about it 🙂
LOVE your hair! you are blessed, girl!
loving that essie polish too! I love bright pink for summer.
steph
BTW I think I totally should invest in some jelly flats… China is so dirty, I don't like to wear my revas out! and when you wear sandals, your feet get super dirty too
LOVE the eye makeup here! especially on the bottom
Love that essie polish!!
I saw Eclipse yesterday and although I loved the first two movies, I was kind of disappointed in this one. It's my favorite of the books, and I thought the movie just fell kind of flat. It wasn't as exciting, intense, or dramatic as the book, imo. 🙁
Love the new shoes! Absolutely adorable! The new pink polish is adorable as well. I just got my nails done yesterday, and went for a orange-ish/pink, but like yours muccchh better!
I saw the midnight premier of Eclipse, and loved it! I would definitely recommend it!
Great polish and I can't wait to see you rock the tube dress (half stripes, half solid?! AWESOMENESS!)
There's an award for you on my blog 🙂

Hi there. I just came across your blog. I belive you are a canadian blogger too? correct me if Im wrong. I just followed you. I hope you can follow my blog as well. Thankss
Those shoes are fantastic and unique, love them! This weekend I took advantage of Old Navy's online sale and stocked up on wedge flip-flops and slub knit T's (so comfy!).
My biggest accomplishment was finally cleaning out my 2 closets. One closet is for work clothes and the other is for more casual stuff although I mix and match from both. I ended up with 2 large garbage bags of stuff to donate.
i love the OOTD's! and the hot pink nail polish too :)i didn't know gray eyeliner works great. doesn't look too rock -ish. perfect! 🙂
Those CK heels are amazing. Perfection.
I came across this fabulous find at Target Saturday: https://www.target.com/Merona-Collection-Zoe-Print-Dress/dp/B00383GDPC/ref=br_1_43?ie=UTF8&frombrowse=1&searchView=grid5&searchNodeID=256143011&node=256143011&sr=1-43&searchRank=pmrank&searchPage=2&sessionID=191-9322631-2661841&searchSize=90&searchBinNameList=target_com_category-bin%2Csleeve_type%2Ccollar_style-bin%2Clifestyle-bin%2Ctarget_com_size-bin%2Ctarget_com_primary_color-bin%2Cprice&qid=1278359024
I tend to wear black, like you, and have really been trying to break out of it recently. Thought it was super cute for my upcoming Mexican (I think, it's a surprise location) honeymoon. Thought you would look amazing in this dress. The model on the site doesn't do it justice. I paired it with my gold MK 'palm beach' sandal and dark brown belt!
Love the new shoes!
So much to comment, I could be here all day gushing 😉
I love those heels, it was a smart choice to buy them!
I also love all of your outfits, as well as the curls. I need to start doing more with my hair!
I find that the longer I don't wash my hair the better it holds a wave. My 3-day hair currently looks way better than freshly washed – go figure!
BTW, they had those Chinese Laundry flats in the clearance section of my DSW (Boston). They only had one pair left in my size and I thought they felt a little small. Super cute though!
I love those shoes! Gorgeous!
I am going to get that great necklace on etsy that you are always wearing… seems very versatile. Can you tell me how many inches that one is? She sells three different lengths it looks like and I love wear it hangs on you so I want to make sure I get the right length. Thanks!!
i'm actually not sure which length I have…I think the longest one? I'm 5'10 and my necklace is pretty long. You can email her and ask what length she recommends, I've emailed her plenty of times 🙂
