Last Monday, one of my coworkers walked into our offices carrying a lovely Kate Spade small handbag and I gasped at how cute it was! I knew I had to have it. She got it at the outlets on 290 so I waited until the weekend, praying they would still have them (the entire store is deeply discounted, so I worried they would sell out.)
Luckily, when I walked into the store today they had some left. I also saw a cute gold bag and took some photos to send to my friend to help me pick which one I should get:
I was going back and forth and then I decided on the white one (the same one as my coworker) and then just as I was about to finally make a decision, I decided to just “try on” the same purse as the white one, in bright pink. I tried to deny my love for it, but I had fallen- deeply, deeply in love with the pink handbag. It was bright, bold…exciting! It made me happy just looking at it. So that’s the one I got. I still love the white one, but I thought the pink just screamed “Veronika!” Plus, there was one ONE left in pink! IT HAD TO BE A SIGN!!!
It’s such a pretty pink. Plus, it will punch up any outfit. I bought this smaller bag because I was tired of lugging around a massive handbag when I went shopping. This bag will allow my debit cards, coupons, iPhone and car keys to fit and that’s all I need! Sometimes taking a heavy bag when you’re going to be shopping around for hours is such a hassle and it gets sooo heavy that my shoulder starts to hurt after awhile. Plus, the bag is perfect for a night out, too.
It’s cute on the inside too! I can’t wait to use it 🙂 I still really love the white one and even the gold one I saw there, but I had to choose. The best part is, I paid for the entire bag with giftcards I got for my birthday, so it was…free! It originally retailed for $195.00 and I got it on sale for $165.00 plus 40% off which with tax came to about $107. Worth every penny! I absolutely love it. I don’t own one Kate Spade item, so it was fun to buy something from a brand I’ve never owned. I don’t typically go for Kate’s handbags because most are too simple (and pricey!) but I just had to have this one.
Next weekend, I am helping to host a baby shower for a friend. The girls decided on a “sports theme” party and they are asking everyone to wear their favorite sports jersey to the party. I don’t even OWN a sports jersey or sports team tee shirt of any kind (not that that would be surprising to most people who read this blog.) I like to play sports, but I don’t care to watch them and don’t follow any teams (my husband of course, LOVES sports and does the whole fantasy football thing.)
I was kind of at a loss because I’m not really into sports or wearing sports gear (unless it’s to actually work out). That all changed when I visited Victoria’s Secret today. Behold:
This is about as close to a jersey as it gets for me. It’s HOT in Texas and I can’t even fathom buying something I’d never wear again- but this cute tee is jersey-esque and I’ll wear it for working out too, so it works.
Oh, and I got free flip flops at VS today because they were having a promotion where if you buy anything from the VS PINK line, you get flip flops! I think the tee is a nice compromise!
Next up, I got this pretty white extra long cardigan from Express. It was on sale for $39.50 but my lovely friend Candice gave me a $10 OFF coupon that she had which brought the price down (awesome!)
I love the pretty crystal buttons. It makes the cardigan more feminine. I actually don’t own a white cardi so this was a nice addition to my closet.
The last thing I picked up today was a pretty glittery nail polish from Sephora. I was inspired by Lorraine (her YouTube Channel is TheCurrentCustom) to use glittery polish after seeing her have it on in several of her videos. Sometimes she just does one nail on each hand with glitter other times she puts it on all of her nails. I only plan to use it on my toes so it’s not as “in your face.” I got the color called “It’s Bouquet With Me“which is the same one she has on in her video. I’m going to layer mine over OPI’s Lincoln Park After Dark.
I’m excited to use it and I’ll post photos when I’ve used it 🙂
Did you buy anything this weekend? I am going to try not to shop for the next two weekends (for clothes and makeup, still need to buy groceries! hehe)
I don’t know if I’ll make it, but it’s worth a try. My husband and I want to plan a vacation to Europe so I am trying to shop less so I can save my money to shop in Europe…and to uh, eat there and stuff.
Thanks for reading and hope you have a fabulous weekend!
xoxo,
Veronika.
Love the fun pink purse! It will be a great addition, especially to all of your black outfits.
Decide to start a blog myself to document my wedding planning experience- please check it out! 🙂 https://ashleybonthego.blogspot.com/
Have a great rest of the weekend!
LOVE that Bag!!! I never buy Kate Spade, because like you said, too simple. I love the cardigan! CHIC buttons, blinging out. I love the bling. lol
Lorraine…she is so funny. Her videos make me laugh- Love her!
As for what I bought this weekend- NOTHING! Can you believe it? But I'm pretty sure my weekday spending made up for it 😉
prettyface- tell me your secrets! I seriously think shopping is just one of the things i do on saturday…ack! I just want to challenge myself and try something different to get out of the "go shopping on saturday" routine…my H and i have a rockclimbing session we bought that we are going to do together…maybe next saturday! hehe
All I bought this weekend was a new pair of prescription glasses and I splurged and got sunglasses, too. I can't wait to pick them up on Monday.
I love that cardigan you got, but the last thing I need is more cardigans because I already have at least 15.
I just saw your comment to someone about rock climbing. It's SO much fun! My H goes almost every day and I go with him about once a week. It's a great workout and a good challenge to conquer. Update and let us know what you thought about it!
I have the same nail polish! It's gorgeous, I love putting it over a base coat of Metro Chic. A word of warning though: for me it was SUPER hard to get off my nails without soaking them in remover for like 15 minutes, so be careful!
The jersey was a cute idea!
Most weekends I try to look up local, free stuff and go do that, or if it's nice go swimming. Maybe you and your H can have a movie marathon one of the days of one of the upcoming weekends?? Good luck though, a trip to Europe sounds exciting!
Nikki- I am totally just going to scrape/peel off the glitter. Using remover takes FOREVER! I actually just painted them and they kind of look odd…like a little too much for me. It's kind of more like something i'd want to do for halloween. Maybe it's just weird on my toes? I'm going to post pics tomorrow! xoxo
That bag is soooo hot Veronika! I totally would have been torn between the pink and the white too. White is so fun for spring, but I like the punchy color of pink and how it will add a nice pop to any outfit. Great purchase, and for such a good price too!
Where are you and the hubs thinking as far as a European vacay? Would you target a couple of countries, or visit one spot for and stay put?
@kinsey- thanks 🙂 we are debating between Paris and Rome! what do you think? I really want to see Versailles because i'm obsessed with Marie Antoinette!
The bag is super cute, I'm on the hunt for a new every day bag so maybe I'll have a look at Kate Spade.
Trip to Europe sounds fun. I don't think you can go without visiting London and then getting the Eurostar to Paris… you will LOVE the shopping in London, and spring time in Paris is just the best.

I like your new handbag & the cardigan. I vote for Versailles as I went there on an impulsive trip. I was amazed. I didn't go to Rome, but once you're there many places are a train ride away. Try to do both? 🙂
The hot pink was a great choice. I love the shape of that bag – it is very simple and elegant…and what a great price!
I got a leather Kate Spade wallet at the outlets a couple of years ago – it's pink with green lining – I love it so much and always get compliments on it. I'd definitely wish I could take advantage of their current outlet sale…I'd get your bag in white 🙂
I just found your blog a couple of weeks ago and love it! We went to both Paris and Rome on our honeymoon last summer. LOVE both cities, but Paris is my favorite. How can you not? 🙂
I think you would really enjoy shopping in the Champs de Elysee in Paris, but also the shopping area below the Spanish Steps in Rome is also amazing. If you want any help, I'll be glad to give you some traveling tips. I definitely recommend both cities if you can, both are so romantic.
I love your new bag…I totally would have gotten the pink one too!! I love Lorraine's videos, and I love the idea of putting glitter polish over an opaque color.
Awww, great stuff! Your new bag is too darling- I'm also a victim of hauling around purses too full of crap, and it's always such a relief to switch to my smaller crossbodies- no big bag to fill up with crap, no big bag full of crap to dig through. Whewww!
So so so cute! I love your cardigan too the buttons are lovely!

Oh, where in Europe? Like France, Italy and Spain and such? 🙂
we are thinking of Paris and Rome…I think we can only do one though because I just don't have the time off to go for that long 🙁
I think you made the right color choice on the bag. The white one would get dirty really easy. The gold is fab but really isn't versatile, more just for going out. That shade of pink is awesome and would really "pop" with some of your all black outfits (which I love btw:).
p.s. I vote for Paris too!
Beautiful purchases as usual Veronika! As I've said before, your shopping posts are my fave.
That pink Kate Spade is lovely! I wear a lot of neutrals so it's always fun to spice things up with a bright or eye catching accessory. I also love that glittery polish. Lorraine has given me the idea to try it too! Please do a post about that particular polish…if you like it, I may go out and buy it since I have a sephora gift card left over =)
This weekend I did a teeny tiny bit of shopping so I'm going to blog about what I got tomorrow
♥ Noelle
Oh and Veronika I know it's really hard to curb the shopping, I'm experiencing that right now. My husband and I plan on buying a house soon so it helps if I go on design websites and plan how I'm going to decorate. Try to keep the bigger picture in mind and all.
I've also become good at "window shopping". This is pretty common advice but if you really think you have to have something, go home and think about it. Most of the time you get over it and won't go back the next day. Or stay out of the mall (and online stores) completely so that you're not tempted.
Love the Kate Spade bag
