Where have I been? All over the place. Between co-hosting a baby shower last weekend, doing two blog sales and having my sister-in-law in town (oh, yeah, and putting together a big press conference at work) I’ve just been slammed and didn’t have the time (or energy) to post.
But I’m back today…and although I’m exhausted, I certainly didn’t let my outfit show it! I purposefully chose bright, happy colors to perk up my mood this morning:
Top- Ann Taylor (LOVE!!!!!!!)
Skirt- Banana Republic
Cardigan- Express
Shoes- Jessica Simpson Nude Pumps (BUY THEM HERE! thanks Mere for sending me the link!!!)
Remember I mentioned the baby shower had a sports theme and people were encouraged to wear sports jerseys (and I don’t own one)?
Well, here’s what I put together:
Tee- Victoria’s Secret PINK
Shorts- Buckle
Cardigan- Charlotte Russe
Flip Flops- VS PINK
I think I did alright for a girly girl, hehe!
I also have an OOTD from last Friday. Simple and laid back:
Tee- Forever 21 (it’s super-long but I have it tucked in)
Skirt- Urban Outfitters
Skirt- Urban Outfitters
Cardigan- Express
Jelly Ballet Flats- J. Crew
Bag- Kate Spade
Candice and I both still have some items left from our respective blog sales, but I’m going to post those in a separate post so it’s not confusing.
…….and before I go, a few things:
1. Happy Birthday to one of my lovely readers, Sabrina!
2. Thank you to all of my lovely readers who left kind comments when I was getting those crazy rude comments last week. Seriously…who has that kind of time? and by the way, I use tracking on m blog, so I know where this person works and what town they live in and the IP addresses they post from…so to all of the posters out there who think it’s “fun” to write rude anonymous comments, the joke’s really kind of on you.
3. Thanks for everyone’s patience, I should be back to regular blogging this week 🙂
xoxo,
If people actually take the time and show hate towards you, they must be obsessed with you. I'm glad you rise above all that. p.s I love your blog!!! 🙂 I was the one who commented on your formspring about close toed heels and you are wearing them in this post beautifully!!!! Love love love the whole outfit!
Lovely outfits as usual 😉 I especially like the last one!
anon- I have to say you have a point there- I can never understand why someone would spend the time reading my blog and making hateful comments…I often wonder what it brings them or how they feel?…what is their reward for doing it? It is all very illogical to me.
Love the Ann Taylor top!!
you ROCK those nude pumps!! I want some now!
Love the nude shoes! Where did you find them? Did you get them recently? Glad you are back to blogging and I also think you are just too fabulous for the insecure haters!
I love that color purple, it looks amazing!
I think those people are just jealous because Candice is gorgeous and they WISH they looked like her!
sandra I got them on DSW.com the were sold out forever and then one of m lovel fellow bloggers who knew I wanted them sent me the link!
https://www.dsw.com/shoe//shoe/js+by+jessica+oscar+patent+leather+pump+?prodId=dsw11prod420023&brand=300183&cm_mmc=affil-_-ShopStyle.com-_-main-_-main
there it is 🙂
I love your blog! You have such great style, I love your OOTD posts.
I am so sorry about the nasty comments, who does that? Some people seriously need to get a life.
Love the outfits! What a cute way to put your own spin on a sports themed party – I never would have thought to do something like that (the VS tee)!
that top is adorable! love those shoes too I love the way nude pumps look.
You look so cute as always! I love those jelly flats and bought some similar at DSW after you blogged about them awhile back. I got the bubble gum pink ones and I can't wait to wear them. : )
Oh I ♥ your Ann Taylor top. Perfect colour!
https://instinctofstyle.blogspot.com/
Love the first outfit especially V, so summery and fun!
Yay for blog tracking 😉
xoxo
I'm in love with your first outfit. It's really wow!!!
https://minnja.blogspot.com/
Oh man, I got linked here from a message board making fun of your lame "I know where you work" post, and I just have to wonder what would make you say that?
Is it because of the trashy flip flop/victoria secret outfit you thought was appropriate for shower (even a sports' themed one), or maybe it was the awful way you can't look forward and wear no makeup in fashion pictures.
This blog = major fail.
LOVE your OOTD with the purple top. Absolutely adorable! What color are your nails? Is it a dark purple? I can't quite tell. I really like it though!
And don't worry about dumb people with ridiculous comments! They have no idea what they are talking about! Their life= major fail
=]
Veronika,
Thanks for getting pack to posting! First off, love the outfit soo much! Secondly, I cannot believe the haters that post. I LOVE LOVE LOVE reading your blog! It's how I unwind at the end of the day, and I love the outfits you put together. It gives me inspiration to dress cute during the week, and gives me outfit ideas for when I'm shopping. You positive attitude and courage to rise above the drama impresses me, and I know you are a strong person. To me, that makes reading your blog even more enjoyable. I know that it takes time to post and take pictures, but I honestly missed your blogging over the weekend! It's a great end to my day, and I know there are many readers who feel the same way. You are beautiful inside and out, and kudos to you for sticking with blogging.
– Rebecca
Beautiful shoes. I'm probably going to order those nude ones, exactly what I'm looking for. Your shower outfit ended up looking very sporty and fun!
anon- what makes me say that is because as I've mentioned 100 times, I have tracking software on my blog that allows me to see where people are posting from, location, IP address etc. So yes, in many cases if someone is posting from their work's server, I can see that information.
thanks to the rest of the ladies for the sweet comments 🙂
ashley my nails are OPI lincon park after dark
anon- just to clarify, every single girl at the shower wore shorts and a sports tee…and flip flops. Obviously I personally would prefer to wear a dress to a baby shower, but the theme wasn't my choice and we honored the wishes of the mom-to-be I don't really see what's inappropriate about wearing shorts a t-shirt and flip flops to a BBQ style shower when everyone else is wearing the exact same thing…but maybe that's just me!
Funny that this person says your blog is a fail when clearly it is successful enough for 1) you to have a ton a fans 2) people to talk about you on sites and post links to your blog (even if it was negative)
Anyway… your blog is a success to me! It is actually the first blog I have followed ever and now I follow several thank to looking at your blog role.
Finally… do you really think those jelly shoes are comfortable? I have been thinking about getting them for a while but am too scared I will get blisters.
-E
E- I love love love the jell flats! they are very comfy but i wouldn't wear them to walk for an entire day…but just to the office or to run errands they are perfect.
i love your blog, you seem like such a nice person, don't let all those negative comments get to you.
all your outfits are adorable, the baby shower theme was so cute in my opinion!!!!
Your outfits are adorable as always. It's nice to see you back!
Ignore the naysayers. These people really need to follow "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." It does no good for anyone. Ironically, the person making the mean/rude/hurtful comment is trying to increase their own self-esteem, but making those comments is not going to do it. Those They are SO jealous of you!! How sad that they have nothing better to do!
Hi Veronika!
You've been inspiring me a lot lately LOL! I went to the outlets today – and I picked up some j crew studded belts – and the kate spade bag in white (I loved it ever since I saw it in your blog post – where you got the cute hot pink one). I got mine for $99 – and I picked up some cute toiletry bags too 🙂
The ruffle Ann Taylor top in the first pic is so beautiful – it really suits you!
I love all of your outfits, especially the Ann Taylor top with the nude pumps! It's nice to see you back. I am sorry for all of the rude comments that you have been getting…obviously these people are too insecure with themselves and need to take it out on someone that has done nothing to deserve it. I love your blog!!
Love that pink top! All your OOTD look great as usual.
I can't believe the hate comments you get! It's so ridiculous! Love your blog, your opinions, and what I know of you from your blog. Ignore the haters, they're obviously pinheads who are jealous. They should put more of their time towards bettering themselves instead of putting others down.
PS Missed your posts this week, glad you're having fun!
Hi Veronika, I love the summery look of your first outfit, that purplish color flatters you so well. I can't believe all the negative comments, you clearly have tons more fans than you have haters, so keep up the good work!
Thanks Veronika! Unfortunately, they ran out of my size….!
I've been reading your blog for a while and love all your fashion and beauty advice! (In particular, the Benefit eye bright pencil 🙂 Thanks! Regarding the stupid anons who keep posting lame comments, they act like you're the first one to blog about F&B material. Whatevs. They need to get a life.
1st, I love you blog so keep it coming!!
What nail polish are you wearing in your Friday OOTD?
Veronika-
I'm a lurker but feel the need to comment today. I am a mother of two in a small town in West Virginia. I am busy 24/7 and for the last 2 years I have been in sweats/PJs 99% of the time. But since I've found your blog you've inspired me to take some pride in my appearance. Just because I FEEL like a zombie doesn't mean I have to LOOK like one, right?! I don't understand how some people out there can be so cold hearted. But for every cruel anonymous person, there are 20 people out there-like me-who think you are talented and beautiful, and although I don't know you in "real life", you seem so sweet and down to earth. We could totally be friends. ;o)
I'm not feeling the toe cleavage.
I started reading your blog b/c others were making fun of it, but I really like it. With all of the seriousness in the world, I need something that takes my mind off things. Although, I do agree that you need to smile and stop standing pigeon toed when you take the OOTD pics. And what are you going to do with people's IP info? You're giving people more ammo to make fun of you with.
anon- no i am not using the info for anything. I only pursued the comments on my previous blog because I believe they are being posted by someone who knows me (well, who knew me years ago). I don't care to do anything about knowing IP's. I just like to give full transparency about the issue.
It's a little creepy that you mention that you have all this info on people from your tracker. Are you threatening them? Sounds like you are. Are you going to contact their work and such? Really sounds like you are threatening them.
and YES I'm doing this anon. I'm too lazy to do otherwise….plus you have your tracker and all. LMAO!
I find it funny how you continually say you don't care what your "haters" have to say, when it's quite obvious that you do. If you were as apathetic about it as you claim to be, you wouldn't bother responding to them, and you certainly wouldn't call them out on their location and IP address. You seem to be an expert at fueling the fire, and oftentimes I think you enjoy the drama. I know, I know, you HATE drama and try to avoid it as much as possible. (FYI, that is like the official Drama Queen Creed). So in actuality, the joke is really on you. I mean, what are you going to do next? Show up at these people's houses and confront them on being time wasting meanies? Contact their offices and have them fired for picking on you on your blog during business hours? Give me a break.
I enjoy reading your blog every now and then, but you can be so ridiculous sometimes.
Oh, and I'll save you the trouble of tracking me. My name is Tara, and I live in Pearland, TX. Cheers.
as I mentioned in my previous post, no I do not plan to do anything with the information and the only reason I pursued those comments specifically were because I noticed the person was accessing my blog through my FACEBOOK profile which means they are a FB friend…then when I asked who worked at "X" company some girl on my FB said "I do!" (not knowing why I was asking.)
I honestly do not care if people who don't know me post rude comments, but if it is someone I've known since elementary school, that kind of rubs me the wrong way.
Like I said, no, I don't plan to do anything and I am not threatening because I realize I can't 100% prove it is this person and I'd never falsey accuse someone…however, people need to take responsibility with their online commenting.
BTW- a stat tracker does give me Ip addresses and locations, but there's not much I can do with that info.
If someone is posting from work, yes I can usually see the place they work…but if they are the ones posting harrasing or lude comments while they are working…then that's their problem, not mine.
tara- please get it straight, the only reason I mentioned the comments at all were because I THINK THE GIRL POSTING THEM IS SOMEONE I HAVE KNOWN SINCE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. I get tons of hater comments from all over the country and I've never addressed those on my blog in a post because I don't care what those people think of me…but to think that someone who knows me and is a Facebook "friend" would post these comments is disturbing and that is why I brought it up.
tara- you're being a bit ridiculous now. No I would not contact their work. I am simply trying to bring to light the fact that many people who troll the internet making anonymous comments who think they can just say whatever they want without ever being indentified in any way are wrong.
I think its cowardly to post rude comments anonymously and I think if you have something to say and you believe in it, then you should say it with pride using your real name.
You are assuming that I plan to "do something" with the information I have. That is simply untrue.
Calm down, V. I was typing my comment as you were explaining where the person originated from. You actually have addressed haters before and posted their actual IP information. I remember because I was shocked that you actually proactively stood up for yourself instead of acting sickly sweet or whining. I still stand by the major points in my comment, but you don't care. Good for you! Keep that pretty little head held high and mighty.
Tara- thanks for your comment. I respect that you stand by your original opinions but I wanted to clarify to you why I was pursuing the comments in question.
To me, someone I don't know IRL saying rude/mean things= I don't care.
Someone who has known me since I was a child and is a FB friend saying mean/rude things= disgusting.
I have, in the past posted IP addresses to make people aware that I can track that information. I think more people would be inclined to follow the "if you don't have anything nice to say" principle if they knew that they weren't as anonymous as they thought they were. People should take responsibility for their online behavior and not try to be some "mean girl" online just because "they can."
I find it funny that there are people who are so uppity about being tracked whenever they post a comment. If you're so worried about being tracked, don't post your stupid and useless opinions on here then.
Just so you know, whenever you post pictures online, you can be tracked too. I know some of you anonymous idiots are not aware of that.
Morgan- I believe in transparency in the sense that I feel it's better for me to come out and say I have a tracker on my blog than to deny it. I have stated time and time again that I use a tracker, so people post comments at their own "risk" (even though in reality, there is no "real" risk because IP addresses don't tell you much at all)
To the anons:
IP addresses can be used to determine from where, at what time, and how often comments are being posted. A pattern develops from these posters. This information can be used to identify an individual person. Once postings' reach a certain level that information can be used to notify employers and those doing the posting could be reprimanded for harassment. Nation-wide there are laws going into effect to protect people from cyber-bullying. Technically, if all these anons are the same person(s)it could possibly constitute as such. Anonymous posting stops being funny once you're contacted by law-enforcement.
P.S. Veronika, I love your baby shower outfit. The theme is a cute idea!
~Robyn (I'm a frequent reader, just don't have a blog to leave a link to 🙂
Sorry, I was unclear in my last comment. My main point it that if these anonymous comment posters think you having access to their IP addresses is threatening, they might as well disconnect their computers from the internet and/or stop using the internet.
There are so many ways and to track whatever people do online. I just find the whole deal with the anonymous posters really funny and the "I feel threatened because you can track IP addresses!" is hilarious!
Oh and accessing someone's blog and leaving horrible comments using their WORK computer…not very smart.
What an imbecile.
I read your blog beacuse it's fun and helpful. The annon comments are just plain annoying…
And I'm sorry that you think one of them is an old "friend" I had something like that happen with a "friend" and that relatioship is OVER. It was a tough time for me, knowing that someone that I had trusted and liked was just being a complete bitch…
Anyway for the baby shower I would have worn the exact same thing! I do not own a jersey or anything sports related except for a similar V.S. Pink tee. If I ever have a baby shower the theme will be pink (even if it's a boy!!!) LOL!
Veronika, I've been following your blog and I have to tell you how much I love it. You seem like an awesome person and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Jealousy can make one such a fugly Bitch. And to that Tara Idiot…what a bunch of BS you're pulling out of that pea size brain of yours. Being aggravated by rude comments and deciding to stand up for yourself does not make one a drama queen. It only means you're human. Please don't bother with playing the "drama queen" card. That's clearly a low attempt of trying to shut up a person who is just fed up w/the hater comments possibly from someone who is supposedly a friend. So Miss "Tara, and I live in Pearland, TX", I hope you don't reproduce because the world does not need more losers like you. Mmmmmkay? Cheers!
Veronika, control your minions. Their "ugly hearts" are starting to show.
Someone so educated shouldn't stoop so low. That means you Tara.
Awww… I just got a chance to read your blog today and saw the mention of my birthday. You are too sweet 🙂
Sabrina
sabrina- 🙂
I looove those nude pumps, that whole white and purple outfit looks great, it's one of my favorites that you've posted lately! The issue with the haters is so ridiculous. I honestly think people are just jealous of you, because seriously, why do they feel the need to read this blog or even comment if they don't like you or what you're writing about? It's not that hard to keep ugly opinions to yourself! I'm glad you figured out who that was, that just really sucks that it was a FB friend and someone you trusted. I know I'd be really hurt by that.
Nikki- I cannever 100% prove that it was someone I know, but based on the tracking on my blog, it was showing that it's possible that it's someone I know. I would never want to falsely accuse someone though, so I'm just getting over it.
I love how you posted a casual outfit! Makes me feel like you're "normal" like us! Your outfits are always so cute, so it's cool to see a dress-down from you. And it doesn't matter where you look–into camera, into mirror, etc. I love the outfits!
Love the nude pumps and you are so welcome–glad you love them too!! I've been slacking on the reading of all of my blogs—based on these comments there has been some serious crap going on! You are awesome and your blog is great! Keep it up chica! xo
https://beancounteridlechatter.blogspot.com/
mere- thanks for your comment 🙂 yes there's been some drama but it looks like it's dying down!
